Voice of my Heart
Myungsoo's family was traveling that summer, much to his dismay. They invited you to come along, but you declined because you wanted to work that summer and earn a little bit of extra money.
"Are you sure you don't wanna come? Our parents said it was okay," Myungsoo said, wrapping his arms around you waist as you tried to get up from the couch.
"Yes, I'm sure! You guys are going to be gone a month, and that half of the summer already."
Myungsoo pouted. "What am I supposed to do without you for a month?"
"Oh, I dunno. Enjoy Japan?" you asked, rolling your eyes.
"I'd enjoy it more if you were there."
"Myungsoo."
"I know, I know. Doesn't hurt to try though, right?"
You laughed as he kissed your cheek. "Bring me back some souvenirs, okay? I want a cherry blossom tree, a set of samurai armor, and a katana."
"I'll work on it," he said, raising an eyebrow at you.
"Or you can just bring me back a fan."

You found a job at the local craft store. You were a regular customer at the store, so when you inquired about the help wanted sign, the owner hired you on the spot.
"You can also attend the workshops for free, and get a twenty percent discount on your purchases," she said. And you were sold on the idea before she even went into the work hours and pay.
"You can keep my paychecks. All my money is going to be spent here anyway," you said in a daze as she took you to the office to fill out a few forms and get your name badge made.
"You can do whatever you want with your name badge as long as your name is still visible," she said, handing it to you. You pursed your lips and stared at it blankly.
"I didn't think you'd be working this summer. I thought you'd want to spend it with that best friend turned boyfriend of yours."
You laughed and handed her the forms. "Well, he's traveling this summer, so I thought I'd go and do something useful with myself."
"Well, that's good. I've always wondered what you do with the stuff you buy here. I look forward to working with you," the owner said.
