Woohyun shifted his weight around as he stood on the empty train platform, the chilling wind sweeping through his raven black hair, as he stared aimlessly at the up the stairs that led to the world outside. It was cold. Too cold.

If there were any bystanders, they probably would’ve remarked on Woohyun’s too formal clothes. He was dressed completely in the darkest of colours – a black and white pinstriped shirt open at the collar that accentuated his shapely collarbone and his firm chest, covered by a silk black blazer fitted to hug his well built body. Dark slacks enclosed his legs and several ornate rings could be seen adorning his long elegant fingers.

The expression on his face was really one to behold, a look of utter abandonment and grief echoed through his dark soulful gaze. The entire galaxy was reflected and contained within his eyes; each glimmering star an empty dream, each flaming comet a raging sadness as far as the eye could see.

His clothes were suited to somebody who was attending a funeral. And that was exactly what he had just done. Attended his funeral. Mourned his death. Shed cold tears for his passing. He could ask so many questions, like why? Why had Sunggyu been taken from him so soon? Why had Sunggyu left him? Why had Sunggyu broken their promise, their promise and no one else’s? So many questions and so little answers.

Woohyun lifted his head up as he looks up towards the light shimmering through the entrance above. The warm sunlight washed over a small patch on the ground, ironically exactly over the same place where they, Sunggyu and Woohyun, had met all those years ago. A clumsy fall, a few mispoken words, and a love meant to last for all eternity.

Woohyun hesitated as he stared at the small area illuminated in light, the only brightness in the dark station. He gazed briefly at the light – once, twice – and then he turned away. He resolutely turned his back to the light and stared forward into the darkness into the great and empty tunnel that yawned before him and he whispered,

“I won’t let you leave. I won’t let you disappear from my heart. I won’t let you leave our paradise, Sunggyu. I won’t let you.”

With those last words left to scatter in the dark, Woohyun swiftly swivelled around and walked up the stairs and out the of the dark train station.

The soft echoes of his dark promise swirled around in the shadows, whispered through the wind, and carried through the dark tunnels, and eventually trapping and ensnaring the very ghost and soul of the person he loved most.

He couldn’t escape from Woohyun’s intense longing and desire. He was trapped in Woohyun’s sad paradise with no end to be seen.
