Sungmin dragged him out of the building, flushed and anxious. He had left before his new friends could plan out where they were having lunch, asking them to text him instead. He dropped down on the nearest bench, sighing deeply, all without glancing at Ryeowook.

Ryeowook could only stare at him as he gathered enough courage for a confession.

"I'm telling him, Wook." He stared past Ryeowook's face, seeking out the figure who had been in both their thoughts. "I want Kyuhyun to know I like him. I don't care if he ends up not liking me back; I think he won't end up ending our friendship... I mean, he's that kind of a nice person... Right?"

Ryeowook could only smile wistfully back. He hoped his friend wouldn't end up hurt. He knew how deeply and quickly he fell for Kyuhyun. They had even talked about rooming in together to save money, and was in the process of finalizing it. "Well, I guess I can only wish you luck. Tell me what happens, okay? I'm just a call away."

Sungmin smiled back at him softly, glad he had let his feelings out. He hugged Ryeowook before leaving, whispering a soft thank you to his best friend.

It was just before he dozed off that Ryeowook received a message.

He doesn't like me back. We're still okay.

It was then that Ryeowook released a breath of relief. It was only later that he realized why.
