She sighed. Her eyes were busy looking at the street lamps brightly shining at the sides of the streets. She could also see the moon shining brightly.

The roads were empty. Well, it was past midnight already. Plus the situation right now, it was just natural that the roads were clear.

She eyed her left side. She could see that he was just focused on the road. She sighed again. They have been in his car for more than 10 minutes now but no one from both of them have uttered a word yet. The silence was already deafening her.

“I have a schedule early in the morning,” she informed without looking at him. Her eyebrows furrowed. He didn’t react to what she said.

She knew the way they were heading and they were on their way to his apartment. Well, it was their usual getaway place as it was extra secured and no one would bother to disturb them there.

“I said I have a schedule early in the morning,” she repeated. Her eyebrows were scrunched even more when she saw him shook his head. She really did see him shake his head by the side of her eye.

“Do I have to repeat myself again?” she said as she was starting to get really pissed off.

She heavily breathed out. “Stop the car,” she demanded. She closed her eyes as he acted like he wasn’t hearing anything.

“Stop the car right now or I’m breaking up with you,” she closed her eyes as she held unto her seatbelt. The car screeched as he suddenly stopped it.

“What did you say?” anger was evident in his voice. She faced him. These were his first words to her after almost more than a month.

“I’m serious,” she reiterated. She saw him sigh before transferring lanes. He did as he was told. He did stop the car.

She placed the car window down as she needed fresh air. She felt suffocated. She was just forced to go with him when she didn’t want to.

Chaeyoung urged her that what they needed was just to have a real conversation, something they haven’t done over two months. Her unnies obviously agreed with Chaeyoung, hence why she was here.

“Are you giving the tabloids consent?” there was sarcasm in his voice. One of her eyebrows automatically raised before facing him. He was still acting like he didn’t say anything.

“Aren’t you just taking Momo’s efforts for granted?” she swore she saw him smirk after saying that. He was taunting her. What she thought was going to be a real conversation just turned out to be another bad argument.

“What did you say?” she asked, eyebrows aligned.

“Weren’t you too scared to reveal our relationship which was why Momo had offered to reveal hers?” it was a fact. It was the painful truth that was making her feel guilty all this time.

“Well, there’s nothing to reveal now anyway. It’s all over,” it was her turn to barb at him. She could see his fists clenching. His hold on the steering wheel was getting tighter.

“What did you say?” he asked, patience wearing thin.

“Isn’t it what you wanted? Just tell me you wanted to break up. I’ll give it to you,” she told him. His jaw was clenching as well. “Do you hear me? I said it’s all over!” she exclaimed.

“No,” he said with conviction. He faced her. “Did you let me know? Did you tell me that it’s all over? You just selfishly came to a conclusion on your own,” he continued. She could see pain in his eyes. What he said hurt her even more but she wasn’t the type to give in nor give up.

“Well, now, you know,” she sarcastically stated.

“Well, I never agreed,” he followed her sarcastic tone.

She unbuckled her seatbelt, opened the car door on her side and walked off from him. Was this the kind of conversation that she really wanted? She sighed.

She wrapped herself as a strong breeze passed by. She was wearing a hoodie, she had a mask as well. There shouldn’t be anyone who can recognize her, she doubted.

She could hear footsteps getting close to her. It was her cue to run off. The road seemed endless and she could still hear footsteps following her.

She stopped as she felt like she was out of breath already. She turned but before that happened, her feet were not on the ground anymore.

“Yah! Put me down!” she yelled. He was carrying her upside down on his shoulder. She felt like a sack of rice being held.

“I’m going to hail a cab. Put me down,” she shouted.

“Which cab would stop in the middle of Hangang bridge at 1 in the morning?” he retorted.

“I said, put me down!” she wiggled her body until he lost his balance that he didn’t have a choice but put her down.

“I’m taking you home,” he calmly explained.

“Ani. I don’t need that. I’ll just call my manager,” she answered back.

Both of them heard clicks and flashes and as their instincts, he automatically hugged her, hiding her face on his chest. She was as well hugging him, scared to show her face.

“I’ll walk you to the car, don’t worry,” she didn’t have a choice but nod at him.

For sure, there will be rumors up about them in a few days’ time. Rumors of them dating, or maybe even worse, rumors of them breaking up. She still couldn’t believe that even how wrapped up they were, reporters were still able to recognize them. If not, these people could be sasaengs.

He was able to walk her to his car without revealing her face. He opened his car door for her and she went in. He went in through the other door as well.

They both buckled their seats. “I’ll take you home,” he told her, she nodded. She couldn’t look at him though. Both were again silent throughout the ride to her apartment.

They have arrived and she got off his car without a word. As soon as she went in her bedroom, her tears automatically started flowing.

“Tzuyu~yah, gwenchana?” it was Chaeyoung. She hugged her friend and continued crying.

It took almost an hour before she stopped crying.

“Did you two talk?” Chaeyoung asked. She just shook her head.

She heard her friend sigh. “You never give him the chance to explain. And you never listen as well,” she pouted when Chaeyoung pointed that out.

This was true. It was always their problem. She never gave him the chance to explain and she would just conclude things. He was right earlier, she was being selfish. It was always him who compromises.

I have been thinking of doing this since last year and I'm finally fulfilling that. When I say "short", I meant it short stories so please don't expect anything like Protect You or What If. These are just those random things I could think & imagine of Bangtwice.
Hoping you'll enjoy this! Kamsahae!
