CHAPTER 3

Haneul’s POV

Another day another misery. I opened my lockers and saw stupid notes in it, “” “” “good for you Luhan left you” “miserable” “loser”, shockers! As if it’s my first time to get these kinds of notes. I grabbed all the colourful papers and crumpled it until I saw one note that is different from the rest, “you have a friend in me – monster”, Okay who would even give himself a petname “monster”

“Hello, beautiful” Chanyeol cooed in my ears. Seriously, he needs to stop because it always gets me flustered.

“Hello to you, too giant” I smiled.

“Thought you were gonna say Giant monster” what? “Say, do you have plans after school?”

“Why?”

“I want to go to the arcade” he whined

“Where are the boys?” I asked

“I don’t want to hang out with them, all they do is flirt with random girls they see on the streets” he said and I chuckled

“Aren’t you like that huh Park Chanyeol?”

“Excuse me but I’m not as flirty as your cousin. He took flirting on a different level” and with that, we both laughed and went to our separate classes.

“Hey” Seongwoo whispered.

“What?”

“Are you okay?” He asked and I nodded. You know, being asked whether I’m okay or not kinda helps me think that at least one person still cares. It matters.

“What about you, Mr. Ong ~ are you okay? What’s with you lately?” I asked. Who knows? Maybe he needs the asking too.

“With me lately? Let’s see … well I tried stopping people putting silly notes in your locker, but some of it still went in. Sorry” he said while scratching his nape.

“It’s okay, thank you”

“Both of you ” Daniel, who was behind us whispered.

“Okay, I had enough. Why do you hate me so much?” I faced Daniel and glared at him.

“Just” he coldly answered.

“What? So you just decided to pick on me because I’m a girl?” I said.

“No”

“Then why?” I asked.

“Because you were with Luhan, and your cousin is an ” Daniel answered.

“So? You have to narrow it down to me so I would understand. We need to be in the same page” I said.

“Luhan is a jerk. I hate him for getting all the girls that he wanted then leave them after he’s done with them. Girls shouldn’t be treated like that” he said.

“So calling a girl “” and “” is the right way to treat a girl?” I argued.

“You were one of the girls who actually believed him. You think a player would stop being a player because a Byun Haneul happened in his life? News flash, NO”

“Okay, I’m stupid and gullible but I’m not a ” I said.

“Okay, then sorry” he whispered.

“Did I hear things right? Please tell me I heard an apology from King Daniel” Seongwoo whispered.

“Shut up” Daniel glared.

“Okay, how about Baekhyun?” I asked.

“Oh come on, do you really have to ask? Isn’t it obvious already? He’s also a player. One true boy”

“Hey, he’s still my cousin” I warned.

“I know. You share the same blood with him” He said.

“Daniel, you are the most unreasonable person I’ve met in my entire life.”

“You’re funny, Byun Haneul” He said.

“What?”

“You hate that you’re hurting but you’re hanging around with the people who constantly hurts you” he whispered, a whisper that only me could hear.

He’s right though. I hate the fact that he’s right but … it’s true.

“So, what do you want to watch?” Chanyeol asked.

We’re currently at the mall because I promised myself that I’ll hang out with him and maybe I need this to keep myself somehow sane.

“I thought we’re gonna go to the arcade?”

“Change of plans” He grinned.

“Paper towns” I answered “Can we watch Paper Towns, please???”

“Of course, who would even say no to you?”
