Heavenly Lullabies.
The Ink Slinger's Diary (Seulrene Drabble Collection)
Bae Joohyun rarely sang (in this universe at least, sillies), but her voice was coated in velvet everytime. Her soothing way of singing had everyone around her enchanted, even her very daughter, Seolhyun, who laid restless in her tiny bed after a nightmare.
But tonight, Bae Joohyun sang a lullaby she knew was soothing, though foreign to her tongue and even more alien to her daughter’s primitive ears. But it was so beautiful to listen, it suddenly made every monster in the dark corners of the room go away, it made the creatures in the closet fade with fear and it made the bad thoughts run for their lives to give way to that peaceful sensation. The little Seolhyun dozed off slowly but surely, bringing a smile to Joohyun, who kept on singing just in case -- or perhaps…
Perhaps she kept singing because she knew that behind the almost closed door was Kang Seulgi, her wife, listening eagerly like her number one fan.
With the song unfortunately finished and a kiss on the sleeping baby’s forehead, Joohyun stood up and carefully opened the door to see Seulgi smiling so wide and proud, unable to contain her love for her. That love popped off in a surprising but sweet kiss to her lips.
Joohyun didn’t mind not singing for a living, she didn’t mind never stepping on the stage. With Seulgi cheering by her side, she didn’t need the audience.
