Exercise/Prompt: A lightning-fast drabble on a "family" dinner full of tension.

The butter knives were dull and yet they could cut the tension that wafted about. Tension, tension, ready to explode in any misplaced word. Utensils scrapping the plates for those tasty and hard to grab bits were the only sound evident at the dinner table, while all the girls -- with heads lowered -- ate as quietly as possible. 

Seulgi was the one aggressively eating her ire and muffling her feelings down with pork and rice, while Joohyun coldly ignored her and continued on eating while prompting the uncomfortable Yeri to eat up to be full of energy. Yeri, who was the only one to truly hear the fight Seulgi and Joohyun had three hours ago, didn’t even look at Joohyun but instead nodded and tried to eat.

Sooyoung’s confused eyes betrayed a hint of sadness while Seungwan’s eyes were as neutral as possible. Conflicts in families were normal and this group was like a family. Families fight, too. Sometimes for the trivial matters, and sometimes for the more serious ones.

But it was strange that a loving couple suddenly turned cold to one another like this, enough to turn the usually chatty dinner cold and silent with no appetite or compliments for th food Seungwan worked hard to prepare. Even a warm meal couldn't soothe the fresh wounds they opened. 

She put her head down and let the tension carry, as it was better than poking the bear until it devoured everything.
