Seulgi was a friend that Inhae had never had before – the girl was bubbly and just befriended with everyone and most of all, she didn’t make Inhae felt like she was being forgotten.

That’s why, Inhae was more cheerful than she thought she would after spending days with Seulgi. They talked, they laughed, Seulgi shared the hottest gossips and Inhae just blabbered about her random thoughts.

They didn’t have the same thoughts or interest, but neither of them care.

They had fun like that and Inhae had finally grasped about the feeling of actually having a friend. And because of that, she rarely thought about Jongin because Seulgi always managed to get her attention.

But she did knew that the boy had always got his eyes on her, maybe because he was busy talking to Seolhyun every day and somehow glanced at her, but she had Seulgi for making her not thinking about it further.

“Your cousin is coming to town?” Seulgi blinked, hands stopped writing on the piece of paper than she had found on the floor earlier.

Inhae had hummed, head lulled on top of her desk. “Yeah, Minho…the one that I told you about. That’s the reason why I can’t go to the movies this Saturday.”

“Why can’t you go? Do you have to take care of your cousin or something? I thought he is older than you?”

“No…it’s just that, when my cousin comes by…my parents would be all over him and his parents and wouldn’t have time to drop me off.” Inhae had explained and Seulgi just pouted even more, jutting her lower lip.

“Well that .” The girl went silent for a moment and Inhae also didn’t speak. And after a few moments, she speaks up, suddenly having a thought.

“But, what if you bring your cousin along? I mean, we could have a double date. I could ask for my brother to come along, I know how much you wanted to meet my brother.”

Inhae had pinked, of course. She had always wanted to see Seulgi’s brother after what the girl had told her about him.

She had seen pictures, of course but never seen him and really wanted to. He looked dangerously handsome and Inhae knew, it must all be in the genes because Seulgi was also a beauty.

Seulgi had told her that her brother, Minhyuk – was a drummer in his club and was an annoying piece of – her words, not Inhae’s.

Inhae knew that she wasn’t good at dealing with new people but weirdly as it sounds – she still wanted to see him even though knowing full well that she will be like those shy little turtle. Maybe she should just see him for a brief second before running away?

“I don’t want to. I’m embarrassed.”

Seulgi had rolled her eyes. “Oh, come on…it’s nothing. I will talk to my brother and see what he says, okay? Please, Inhae?...”

She had sighed, pressing her lips into a thin line, thinking for a moment before nodding. “I guess I will ask my cousin then…”

“Oh my gosh! Thank you!” Seulgi had squealed. “I can’t believe it! We’re going on a double date!”

As the girl was busy squealing, projecting about what will happen, like how her brother would fall in love with Inhae at first sight or whatsoever – in which Inhae had doubted, a sudden hiss suddenly came from Jongin and the two girls stopped on whatever they are doing and blinked at the tan boy.

He already had his head turned to them as he glared. “Can you two shut up?! What’s so great about a double date anyway?”

Inhae had heard Jongin muttered the last part, but she didn’t say anything and Seulgi just cursed at him behind his back. Her heart was beating furiously because she had thought that he was jealous for a moment, maybe hearing that she will be going to a double date triggered him, but then she reminded herself – Jongin doesn’t like her and they were pretty much making a noise.

She didn’t forget the shivers that she felt when his eyes met her for a brief moment though.

Chapter 21: All along the chapters, it seemed like Jongin likes her?? But maybe he thought she didn't like him or something? It's really mysterious because his friends seemed to know, or it could be that Sehun also likes her? Damn hahahaha. But unrequited love is really hurt, but she seemed happy and more lively now. Hopefully she'll find someone.

Chapter 21: This is the first character that ever feel so close to me. I am exactly in the same situations like her. So the lesson I learned here, is not being too hard on yourself. I need to accept that he will always be in my heart but not in my life. Thank you for the great story.

Chapter 21: PS: I had no idea Jongin would be a perfect character for a high school crush slash heartbreak. But you have written him so nicely that I felt I had a crush on him too xD

I love this fic, author, thank you so much!

Chapter 21: That being said, I miss them so much... They were so cute despite him being a jerk. Isn't that what we all wish though? That somehow the "bad boy" would soften at the girl? Okay maybe not everyone's wish, but I am a er for that!

All in all I really loved this fic. I'll probably read it again when I want to have butterflies in my stomach. It was bittersweet and although the storyline was simple, all emotions were raw and real. It goes to show that even though High School seems like a moment we'll forget because most of us have been young and did crazy stuff, an age where we don't really know anything, I also think it has shaped Inhae beautifully. She turned from bumbling shy girl to an amazing woman.

Also this fic reminds me of a Thai movie called, "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" Both are sooooo beautiful and all the characters are just amazing in their own ways.

I'm honestly going to miss Jongin and Inhae so much >.< Here is to High School crushes that broke our hearts!

Chapter 21: As for Jongin, well, WOW. I do have a lot to say. If I'm gonna be honest, I don't think he ever liked her at all. Sometimes love makes us look through life in pink tinted shades that we don't get to see the true colors of it anymore, unless we actually look hard enough. Perhaps his actions, their small interactions, and even his behavior was interprered differently by Inhae. I mean, she liked him, and its totally naturally to make 100 out of a 0 when it comes to the people we like. Its natural. She wont be able to help it.

Seeing as we only saw this from Inhae's POV tho, my interpretation of it was that those moments didn't mean MUCH to Jongin. Not to say that he didn't care about her, because I'm sure he did, perhaps just not as the same level as her. Like he looked for her, he acted weird around her, and sometimes his words, paired with his behavior, just seems way too intentional to be called a coincidence. I think he may have liked her, probably found her cute or still had the flurries of a childhood crush, but nothing too serious. Like, he has a girlfriend. It could be that he really liked his gf or he dated her to up his image and to feel like he got the prettiest girl. You know, typical teenage boy in high school

Chapter 21: I'm just...I'm sad? But I'm also...happy because Inhae is happy now. Like if we look back in her youth that was mostly Jongin days, she lost the energy to study hard and looked down on herself a lot. She had a lot of fears, hesitation, compared herself often to other girls, and she wasn't confident.

I really REALLY wanted them to be together, that much has not changed a bit, but the ending seems like it would be the best for Inhae. In a way I'm glad that she never knew his answer and assumed things herself, because Seulgi is right, she's a totally different person now. Inhae is happy, she's confident, and she is shining like a star. I am so proud of her and how far she's come. It wasn't easy for her but she pushed through and I'm so glad she's in a much better place now

I hope Jongin remains a beautiful memory to her, even if she lost him
