The thing about Inhae was that – she rarely checks up her Facebook. She was never really a fan of it and always sticks to Twitter, but because of what she had done, it seemed like she ignored to open her Facebook even more – scared of the rejection that she will be facing after she had messaged Jongin the other day.

It had been days, and she still didn’t received any notification that would indicates that Jongin had replied and her heart broke every time she greeted with nothing when she opened her phone.

She had a tiny bit of hope, sure – she kept telling herself that Jongin is busy with college and didn’t have any time to open his social network.

That’s what she kept telling herself.

But, after a week passed and she still didn’t hear anything from the boy, she figured that she was setting her hopes too high and just wanted to delete the stupid Facebook app so that she won’t have to deal with any of the stupidities anymore.

She was about too, but then – there was this small pop sounds that makes her frowned.

Her breath stuck when she saw the notification.

Hi too…

Her eyes went wide. She panicked.

Okay, what should she say?

Do they talk about the weather?

What should she ask?

What should she say?

Do they need to talk about specific things?

Should she ask how he was doing?

Yeah, she should.

Her fingers trembled when she pressed the words, biting her lower lip as she surpassed her excitement.

How are you?

Jongin was online and she smiled wider when she saw him replying in just a matter of seconds.

I’m fine…I’m sorry, but who are you?

Her smile dropped.

Jongin doesn’t remember her, or maybe he just don’t know her because she didn’t really put her profile picture and just leave it empty and also there are a lot of people with the name Inhae.

She smiled bitterly.

Inhae. She typed.

Inhae?

Song Inhae. She typed again.

Oh.

Her heart dropped by the lack of words. Maybe he really hated her after all.

Hey…

Her eyes lit when she saw him typing.

I didn’t know it’s you. It has been a long time.

She grinned. I don’t know you still remember me

Why would I forget about you?

Her heart thumped. Jongin didn’t forget about her. He remembered her.

What’re you doing? She asked.

Doing nothing.

Where are you now?

She smiled.

Busan. She typed.

That’s far.

You?

Still in Seoul. My mom is getting tired seeing my face.

She chuckled at his attempt on being funny. She lay down on her bed, still smiling as she typed back.

At least your mom got to see your face, my mom couldn’t.

Jongin replied back,

Give me your address and I will let your mom see my face instead of yours.

She had laughed at that.

Is this the feeling if she had talked to him?

Is he always trying to be funny?

Is he always so fast at replying to any messages?

I can’t. She will be in shock if she sees you.

Why? Because I’m so handsome?

She snorted at his confidence that came from nowhere.

Anyway, I need to go now…

Her heart sunk. That was fast. Is he bored with her already?

Can we talk tomorrow?

She smiled.

Sure.

Chapter 21: All along the chapters, it seemed like Jongin likes her?? But maybe he thought she didn't like him or something? It's really mysterious because his friends seemed to know, or it could be that Sehun also likes her? Damn hahahaha. But unrequited love is really hurt, but she seemed happy and more lively now. Hopefully she'll find someone.

Chapter 21: This is the first character that ever feel so close to me. I am exactly in the same situations like her. So the lesson I learned here, is not being too hard on yourself. I need to accept that he will always be in my heart but not in my life. Thank you for the great story.

Chapter 21: PS: I had no idea Jongin would be a perfect character for a high school crush slash heartbreak. But you have written him so nicely that I felt I had a crush on him too xD

I love this fic, author, thank you so much!

Chapter 21: That being said, I miss them so much... They were so cute despite him being a jerk. Isn't that what we all wish though? That somehow the "bad boy" would soften at the girl? Okay maybe not everyone's wish, but I am a er for that!

All in all I really loved this fic. I'll probably read it again when I want to have butterflies in my stomach. It was bittersweet and although the storyline was simple, all emotions were raw and real. It goes to show that even though High School seems like a moment we'll forget because most of us have been young and did crazy stuff, an age where we don't really know anything, I also think it has shaped Inhae beautifully. She turned from bumbling shy girl to an amazing woman.

Also this fic reminds me of a Thai movie called, "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" Both are sooooo beautiful and all the characters are just amazing in their own ways.

I'm honestly going to miss Jongin and Inhae so much >.< Here is to High School crushes that broke our hearts!

Chapter 21: As for Jongin, well, WOW. I do have a lot to say. If I'm gonna be honest, I don't think he ever liked her at all. Sometimes love makes us look through life in pink tinted shades that we don't get to see the true colors of it anymore, unless we actually look hard enough. Perhaps his actions, their small interactions, and even his behavior was interprered differently by Inhae. I mean, she liked him, and its totally naturally to make 100 out of a 0 when it comes to the people we like. Its natural. She wont be able to help it.

Seeing as we only saw this from Inhae's POV tho, my interpretation of it was that those moments didn't mean MUCH to Jongin. Not to say that he didn't care about her, because I'm sure he did, perhaps just not as the same level as her. Like he looked for her, he acted weird around her, and sometimes his words, paired with his behavior, just seems way too intentional to be called a coincidence. I think he may have liked her, probably found her cute or still had the flurries of a childhood crush, but nothing too serious. Like, he has a girlfriend. It could be that he really liked his gf or he dated her to up his image and to feel like he got the prettiest girl. You know, typical teenage boy in high school

Chapter 21: I'm just...I'm sad? But I'm also...happy because Inhae is happy now. Like if we look back in her youth that was mostly Jongin days, she lost the energy to study hard and looked down on herself a lot. She had a lot of fears, hesitation, compared herself often to other girls, and she wasn't confident.

I really REALLY wanted them to be together, that much has not changed a bit, but the ending seems like it would be the best for Inhae. In a way I'm glad that she never knew his answer and assumed things herself, because Seulgi is right, she's a totally different person now. Inhae is happy, she's confident, and she is shining like a star. I am so proud of her and how far she's come. It wasn't easy for her but she pushed through and I'm so glad she's in a much better place now

I hope Jongin remains a beautiful memory to her, even if she lost him
