Inhae didn’t go to the movies on the Saturday though, because her mother had forbid her not to, it was rude to have you go somewhere else when your cousins are here. Thankfully, Seulgi was okay with it, after Inhae had promised to buy her chocolate bread for two week straight of course in which Yerim had frowned upon at.
“I still can’t believe you agreed on buying her chocolate bread. You know she ate like a whale.”
Seulgi had just stuck her tongue at the friend, in which she just rolled her eyes. “You’re just jealous you can’t have any.”
“Oh please, as if…”
Inhae had chortled, shaking her head in amusement.
“I need to maintain my body so that it will look perfect.”
She just watched Yerim posed a bit and jutted her lips, acting like a model and although the girl had failed at doing so – she couldn’t help but to feel a tad jealous on her friend.
Inhae didn’t really have the beautiful face nor have any great body like them or even have a smart brain. She was so average, her baby fat was still visible and she was a bit shorter than most of them.
She wondered if she was just a late bloomer or she was just really that lazy on keeping her together. Her friends were pretty and beautiful while she looked like a baked potato.
It’s no wonder that no one had glanced at her way.
She felt her shoulders slumped at the thought.
It’s no wonder than Jongin doesn’t look at her way.
The class was pretty hyped up after lunch, probably was energized enough with the full stomach and all. The teacher hadn’t come in and the students were busy chatting with each other.
Inhae was busy with Seulgi and Yerim, talking about their childhood life until Seolhyun suddenly chipped in.
“Hey, does anyone of you have a mirror?”
The three had frowned, of course. “Why do you want it?” Seulgi had asked.
“Jongdae just want to try some stupid stuff.” She had motioned at the boy behind her with the thumb and Jongdae, the cute guy behind her just grinned. Sehun, the one beside him just rolled his eyes.
Inhae felt her cheeks pinked when she saw Jongin jutted his lower lip. “Please give it to us. We will give it back.”
“Yeah, Inhae you have it, right?”
“I don’t know if I should trust it after knowing you want to do stupid things with it.”
“Oh please, don’t you trust me?”
Inhae just rolled her eyes when she heard Jongdae said that. Who would have trust that boy though? He was like the troll in the class, pranking people and all.
She had seen him doing tricks on the kids and just didn’t have any trust on him. Just like how he wanted to prank her by trying to court her, which had failed obviously – she didn’t know if it was a prank, but she presumed it is because it seemed like it.
Nevertheless, she gave her small mirror to Seolhyun, watching her giving it to the boy. Inhae had wondered what he wanted to do – Seulgi and Yerim also had the confusion on their faces as they stared ahead at the boy.
Inhae had gasped, of course – the moment she saw Jongdae suddenly broke her small mirror into pieces and what scares her most is that he suddenly put them all into his mouth.
“What the hell? That was my mirror!” she had yelled, not even caring if Jongin would see her yelling like a madman because that mirror was hers and that boy didn’t just put it in his mouth and chewed like he was chewing some chicken nugget.
Seulgi had gawked and Yerim just clacked her tongue in displeased. Seolhyun and Jongin both had an amused look on their faces as they watched Jondae chewed the pieces in his mouth.
Jongdae smirked, opening his mouth which just showed the broken pieces of the mirror and Jongin laughed.
“Okay, fine! You win!” Sehun had slapped some bills on the desk and Jongdae fist pumped in the air before quickly gone outside, probably going to the washroom to get rid of the broken mirrors. Jongin followed behind along with Sehun.
Inhae thought she was going to be sick.
“Doesn’t his mouth hurt or anything? Why does he even do that?” Seulgi grimaced and Inhae couldn’t agree better, but the most things that occupied her thought was,
“And he just ate my freaking mirror!”
Seulgi chortled.
Yerim just shrugged. “Jongdae is always crazy like that.”
“You seem unimpressed.” Inhae made a comment and the girl just shrugged.
“You would be unimpressed if you happened to see things like that every second.”
“What do you mean?”
Seulgi sighed. “Yerim used to date Jongin back in the middle school and kinda get used to be in their clique, yeah?”
Inhae felt her heart dropped. “Really?” she doesn’t want to sound disappointed. She could believe that one of her friend had been dating her long time crush. She doesn’t want to know what she was supposed to feel…what is the heavy feelings in her chest?
Was it jealousy?
“Yeah…” Yerim had sighed. “Our friends thought that we would be cute together and kinda…I don’t know…make us date?”
“What was it like? Dating him?” Inhae should stop asking the questions.
“I don’t know. I don’t even like him, I kinda go with it because our friends ask me to. He’s cool, but not really my type. So, starting high school, we broke up and he dated Jaekyung.”
Inhae didn’t know what to comment.
She felt jealousy burning up inside her. She shouldn’t be, but she did.
From the fact that one of her friend was Jongin’s ex and how the boy was so easy to change his girl after a breakup.
Inhae had met Jongdae when she was about to go to the washroom, almost stumbling forward because she didn’t expected him to appear so suddenly out of nowhere.
He seemed alerted, hands dashed forward in case she was falling but seeing how she quickly collected herself, he let out an amused chuckle. “Be careful, Inhae, I know I’m hot but please don’t literally fall for me.”
She made a face at that, but didn’t say anything. “Is your tongue okay though?” she asked, because he did put mirrors in his mouth.
He smirked. “You wanna test it out?”
She had grimaced at that because eww. He did not just use that on her. She felt her cheeks pinked from embarrassment and just cleared . Boys are stupid.
“You need to give me a new mirror.” She deadpanned and the boy just laughed.
“Oh, I could give you the stars if you ask me to.”
Inhae could hear a loud gasp from her back and she didn’t have to guess to know that it was Seulgi.
Jongdae, seeing how Seulgi was tugging Inhae’s arm, quickly walked away with face confront into something that she didn’t quite know.
“Oh my god! What was that?”
She frowned. “What was what?”
“That. Earlier. That. Jondae was freaking flirting with you.”
Inhae made a face. “No. He didn’t.”
Seolhyun suddenly walked in. “Didn’t what?”
Seulgi gushed quickly at the popular girl. “Jongdae was flirting with Inhae earlier.”
Inhae pinked. “He did not!”
“Who?”
Jaekyung suddenly came in and Inhae had inwardly groaned. Why does she have to be here. Seulgi had gushed again and Inhae mentally face palming from the reaction that she had seen from the popular girls.
Of course they would think that it wasn’t true. Someone like Jongdae from their clique won’t even flirt with someone like her.
She wanted too though, but knew that she wasn’t in their league.
“I didn’t know that Jongdae could actually flirt. If he did, lucky you.” Jaekyung chuckled and Seolhyun just followed her action, chuckling too.
“Well, actually I’m looking for Jongin. Do you guys see him?”
Inhae felt her heart dropped. Of course Jaekyung would come to her class to meet with Jongin.
Seolhyun and Seulgi had said something but Inhae could only stare at Jaekyung, envying whatever that she had and could only hear,
“Nevermind, I already found him.”
Inhae found herself watching Jaekyung running towards Jongin with an open arm and Jongin just smiled at her widely.
She felt like being torn to pieces because there was Jongin, smiling so beautifully with someone that he likes while she was still admiring him from afar.
This is pathetic.
