Stop Her
88.“You should stop her,” Kyungsoo murmured to Jongin as they watched Chaeyeon study late into the night again.
Jongin shook his head, filling up a glass of water for her. He couldn’t do that and he wouldn’t do that. Going to England meant everything to her at the moment, and he wouldn’t get in the way of that.
“She always listens to you,” Kyungsoo insisted.
“I’m not going to. She wants to go to that conference,” Jongin said before heading out of the kitchen and putting down the cup in front of her. She smiled gratefully, wrapping her fingers around it before turning back to her work.
Her eyes were practically bloodshot from staring at her computer screen for so long, but she had wanted to finish the paper tonight so could spend time with them later. Jongin didn’t know why she kept trying make time for them, because he got it.
But he didn’t think that she had gotten time to explain that to Kyungsoo yet.
Over the span of a few hours, her head began to droop and her eyes began to close until it was two in the morning and she was asleep at the table. Kyungsoo had left a hour ago to sleep, so Jongin reached over, pressed save on her essay and shut the laptop and tried to shake her awake so she could go to bed.
She doesn’t stir and he sighed, lifting her up in his arms and carrying her to her bedroom, trying to be careful so her feet didn’t bang against the doorw
