Public Displays of Affection
88.
Chaeyeon: are you two busy?
Kyungsoo: yes
Jongin: aren’t we always
Kyungsoo: what’s wrong
Chaeyeon: I’m tired
Chaeyeon: why is working marketed as this integral part of adult life regardless of how you’re treated
Kyungsoo: I’m too tired for our philosophical debates today
Jongin: it’s only been three months
Kyungsoo: and we have to do this for the rest of our lives
Kyungsoo: for some reason I don’t believe that it gets better
And it didn’t get better. He had just found Chaeyeon finally reaching her breaking point, which he thought would have happened months ago. And he doesn’t have a solution, so he slips his arm around her and took her to a more private place so she couldn’t be seen.
“I don’t want to do this anymore.” Her face was buried in his shoulder, and he knew that when she pulled away, there would be tear-stains. He didn’t care about that though.
“What can we even do?” Jongin rested his chin on top of her head gently, murmuring. “I don’t know what to do myself.”
“Do you think it would be better in another company?”
“Maybe, or maybe it’s more of the same.” Jongin couldn’t help but be negative. Chaeyeon’s fingers tugged at his shirt which prompted him to wrap his arms a little tighter.
And then, another voice interrupted the two of them, “Excuse me, but public displays of affection aren’t allowed at work.”
