Jongin’s niece and nephew were running around the house, giving him a bit of a headache, but they were cute and entertaining so Jongin didn’t care.
His mother had been force-feeding him soup, so he could say that he was feeling much better, and generally not achy. Jongin and Chaeyeon had shown up on the morning of Christmas Eve, and mothers knew everything. She’d a feeling they would be coming, even before Jongin had told her.
Both his parents had set up a large Christmas lunch with bulgogi and crab, and his mouth was watering. But before he could happily stuff his mouth, they gathered around the small tree and Raeon, his nephew, was happily babbling away. Chaeyeon sat next to him, eyes bright as she laughed at something his sister said. She fit right in.
Rahee tore open the packaging to find a new plaything, and his parents passed Jongin a gift. He eased the tape and paper folds away to find a new coat. He tried it on immediately, was happy with the fit, and thanked his parents.
