Seven Days

Skipping school—no wait—playing hooky was not the smartest move. Hanhui may not have gotten caught and the staff didn't question why she was absent yesterday, but there was a crap ton of work that was left to make up. And ever since this morning, Hanhui's been feeling a bit more moody. So she was kind of pissed that she had yesterday's homework on top of today's homework.

She was even more pissed as to why she was being so moody.

Maybe it was because she got all her emotions mixed up yesterday, or maybe her feelings were just drawn out because of a certain someone. Cough, Kim Taehyung, Cough.

Break had just started, so she took this chance to rest, and the teacher walked out of the classroom to go get some papers graded. By "going to get papers graded", their instructor really meant that he was going to the teacher's lounge for a cup of coffee and to watch tv.

"Hanhui-yah, I told all your teachers that you were sick." Jihye sat down on the top of Hanhui's desk; the older female looked up from her arms and gave her an apologetic yet grateful smile. Her other best friend, Hana, sat down nearby quietly and continued to read her book as she only nodded in agreement with Jihye. She felt kind of bad for having her friends cover for her when she was the one who skipped school on purpose.

"I wasn't, but thanks soooooo much for saving my guts from a lecture." Jihye waved off her gratitude and leaned in closer with a cheeky smile.

"What'd you do yesterday? Both you and Kim Taehyung were absent—and I wouldn't find that suspicious until I saw him drop you off yesterday afternoon! Don't think I'm not watching you young lady, I have a surveillance camera looking at the front of your house!" Jihye whispered. Hana looked up from her novel to show she was listening.

"First of all, I'm older than you so you can't call me 'young lady'. Second of all, why'd you put up a surveilla—"

"Don't try and avoid the question! Now I wanna know every single thing that happened and don't leave out any details. Right Hana?" Before Hanhui could even breathe in to speak and explain the whole story, a group of girls barged into their math classroom furiously. They pushed through numerous groups of quiet students rudely for what seemed to be for no apparent reason, other than to just interrupt their conversations and attract attention.

Their hair and the way they wore their uniforms were coordinated, as if they planned to all look exactly the same and not create diversity. The tallest one in the said group stood out the most, considering she was standing a foot above everybody else.

"What the heck does Yeona and her followers want from the advanced classroom? Is she here to cheat off of us? Everyone knows that she probably has the IQ of a deformed walnut. They're not even in our grade." Jihye replied with a hushed sneer. Hanhui had no idea who Yeona was, and she didn't want to find out.

If they were as rude as they introduced themselves to be, then Hanhui wanted to take no part in any of their shenanigans. She already had enough drama going on around her (not really, but feelings count as drama too). Hanhui turned her back towards them and faced her best friends. Girls who gained attention by bullying others were detestable in her opinion. A person should be popular for their kind acts not because they pushed somebody into a locker.

"Who here knows where Lee Hanwhore is?" The high-pitched voice screeched, causing the classroom to fall silent. Hanhui head snapped in the direction of the group, confused and a little annoyed.

As usual, Jihye was very loud and had a short fuse; naturally she just had to cause a huge scene about it.

"Why the hell would you wanna know, you little rat?" Jihye exclaimed, jumping down from the desk to face them. But, Hanhui never backed down from a battle. She didn't even know what they wanted, but she was going to confront them about it. That's just who she was; and this whole 'moody' thing just fired her up even more.

"I'm right here. If you want to talk to me then let's do it outside."

---

Hanhui leaned her back against the wall and balled her hands into fist, her nails almost digging into her palms, to control her rage and annoyance. She was usually just so calm and collected during these things; she's been able to defend people in fights all the time and still keep her cool. But ever since this morning, controlling emotions wasn't exactly the easiest task to do.

"I'm going to cut to the chase. Stay. Away. From. Kim. Taehyung. Arraseo?" Yeona poked her forehead to provoke her as she stated her demand. Hanhui bit her lip and crossed her arms; there was no way she was going to listen. Especially since they had an agreement, so she kind of couldn't stay away from Taehyung anyway.

"It's not like you’re his girlfriend, so why can't I hang around him?" Hanhui retorted.

"Hang around him? Do you call this, just 'hanging around'?" Yeona perfectly manicured fingers reached for her phone in the pocket of her navy blue school skirt.

Oh .

Hanhui's hands instinctively went to grab the device out of the others hand, but being vertically challenged was not helping her out against Yeona's incredibly long arms. In the end, she looked like a toddler reaching for a jar of cookies on a high shelf. Pathetic and pitiful.

The taller female waved around the picture of Taehyung and Hanhui kissing towards her group of followers. The expression she held was filled with hatred and jealousy.

As for Hanhui, she was mad. And not because she was selfishly brought out here to be threatened by a bunch of her dongsaengs, but because her privacy and Taehyung's privacy was invaded.

"I'm going to warn you only once, listen carefully. You're worthless in the site of elites like me and Taehyung-Oppa. We were destined to be together and you're just getting in the way of my happily ever after." Yeona turned to her group to laugh with them obnoxiously.

Hanhui snapped.

Almost immediately after she was insulted, Hanhui's hand slapped the taller across the face.

"Oops, there was a bug on your face." She knew what she would be getting herself into, basically a "one vs a horde of twats." First and foremost, there was no way in hell that she would win and make it out still being able to breathe. But hey, she could at least get one of them injured.

Yeona clawed her cheek leaving a few scratch marks on Hanhui's face. The rest of the girls began to kick and punch her mercilessly. It was a miracle that nobody came out to check on the commotion going on in the hallway; it was also amazing that the bell to end break hasn't rung yet.

Hanhui blocked a few of their attacks, but focused her attention on Yeona who was still holding her cheek in pain in the background. With the rest of her strength, she pushed away all the girls roughly and threw herself at Yeona. Although the younger was still able to remain her balance, Hanhui clung onto her like a koala on tree as she pulled her hair.

"Yah! What the hell is going o—Hanhui?" Taehyung's voice echoed throughout the corridor.

Ring

The bell rung indicating the end of break.

---

"You're so stupid! You should have just ignored them and told me after so I could deal with them for you. Now you're all beat up." He gently cleaned a few of scratches on her face as she mumbled an apology, "Lift up your shirt." He commanded nonchalantly.

"What why." She blushed. He hadn't meant it in "that" way, but after looking up at her bashful expression, he couldn't help but .

"Don't be shy kitten, I'll be seeing all of you soon." Quickly, he raised the hem of her shirt and scanned her milky skin for any red spots that were signs of bruising. Of course he didn't have inappropriate motives... earlier. His original intention was to check if her torso was injured in any way, but now he kind of wanted to eat her up. Obviously, he couldn't and he shouldn't

Before she could push him away, her head unexpectedly began to throb agonizingly. She held onto her forehead, as if doing that would magically take away the pain. Taehyung quickly had her lie down on the bed and went to go grab an ice pack.

Hanhui also had her abdomen pains again; she didn't know if it was from the fight earlier or if they were the ones she's been having ever since yesterday. Either way, a lot of the areas of her body felt crappy. Her mood felt pretty crappy too. So everything was plainly... crappy.

"I'm back!" He sing-songed, playfully swinging the pack of ice around in circular motions. Her moodiness got the best of her; she to her side on the bed, facing away from the tall male. Hanhui wasn't mad at Taehyung, why would she? She just wasn't in the state of mind to talk, and there wasn't anything particularly interesting to talk about.

"What's wrong? Did I do something?" Now she suddenly felt bad for letting out her strange temper onto him. She rolled over to face him, her lips pouting as her eyes gazed elsewhere.

"No... you didn't. Sorry that I'm acting like a brat." She blew a raspberry, still refusing to meet his eyes. All he does is help her and this is how she reacts. He looked at her sympathetically and tried to think of a way to cheer her up from her slump.

"You wanna hear a story?"

"Is it another one of your dumb Shrek fan-fictions?"

"No. This one is real, and it's about me."

"A bit narcissistic, are we?"

"Do you wanna hear the story or not?"

"Go ahead, master. I'm all ears." He finally got her to look at him. Adjusting his sitting position, he took in a deep breath to begin his short memoir.

"This all began in freshman year..."

---

Freshman Year:

"Did you think I wouldn't know about your little snitching? I got a zero because of you and I can't afford to have a bad grade on one of my last reports. Now how about you pay up for the damage you've caused, rich boy?" The older pushed Taehyung onto the hard concrete and grabbed him by the collar, his fist raised in the air as if he were about to throw a punch at him.

"Bu-but you didn't do any of your wor-work, and I-I can't just lie to the te-teacher." He stuttered out. Taehyung could never lie, he was too bad at it. Even if he tried to tell the teacher that the work was split and that he didn't do all of it himself, he wouldn't be believed.

"Yes, you could've lied to her. But you didn't, wrong choice." The junior let go of the younger's collar roughly, causing him to hit his head on the ground. Despite the pain he was currently in, he sat up to try and back away; the fear inside of him caused him to shake uncontrollably his glasses quivered along with him.

"I'm sorry! It won't happen again!" Tears were now threatening to leave Taehyung's eyes. The junior didn't care for anything other than getting revenge on the nerd who caused him to now have a D in biology.

"Oh, I'll make sure it doesn't happen again, by leaving you with a bloody reminder." As Taehyung brought up skinny arms to defend his face, the junior raised up his fist and took a blow at the younger's stomach. Taehyung could taste the metallic taste of blood that had begun to ride up from his throat and he instinctively grabbed onto his torso in pain.

Taehyung's recoil from the attack caused his glasses to fall off his face. To mock him even more, the junior slowly crush one of the lenses with his foot.

"Yah! Leave him alone." A sweet sounding voice yelled. The junior looked up from what he was doing to look at a petite girl whose hair was done in a bun, and her hands were balled into fists to try and control her anger.

"Well, what do we have here? I'm going to have myself a little play thing once I'm done with glasses over here." Though she was intimidated by his stronger body build, she was sure she could outsmart him. She knew who this junior was, a lot of people did; since he had classes with the freshman because he was so dumb.

"Sunbae! Look behind you! It's a spaceship full of pigs!" Almost to her surprise, he turned around immediately and wondered out loud where the hell this pig spaceship was. She took this chance to grab Taehyung by the arm and escape somewhere behind a nearby bush because they probably won't be able to outrun this junior once he realizes that the stuff she was spouting was BS.

Luckily, he was able to grab his glasses just before he was dragged away from the bully. Taehyung stared at the girl who had just saved him, his eyes shining with admiration. She was really cute. She probably wound't be interested in such a geek like him.

"Does your stomach feel alright?—that was a dumb question, sorry. I just saw you get punched so you're probably not alright." Taehyung looked down and nodded his head. He now looked pretty pathetic in front of a cute girl; actually he already looked pathetic, considering he had not been able to fight back to protect himself.

"Hey, cheer up." She thought of how he could get him to smile, she could probably do something cheesy. She reached into her pocket and felt around for the piece of candy that was always kept in there. If she couldn't think of a good way to make him smile again, then maybe she could just share the things that helped her feel better.

"Is this mint chocolate?" He asked with a surprise expression as he slowly took the treat from her small hand.

"I may not know what you've been through, but whenever I'm down I always look to sweets to calm me. I don't know if it'll work for you, but I just wanted to share my method so you can smile." He couldn't help but think of how cute she was, like a puppy. How she was so kind to somebody she just met and how she wasn't afraid to be herself in front of a complete stranger. She even stood up to a junior for him.

Call him crazy, but maybe it was "like at first sight."

Taehyung wanted to be brave, carefree, and not so uptight. He didn't want to fit into the nerd stereotype; the scrawny kid with glasses and an armful of textbooks. He didn't have to be weak to be smart. He wanted to be himself, thanks to her.

"What's your name?" He asked as he looked down at the piece of candy still in his hand.

She took in a breath to speak but before she could utter a word, the bell rang.

"Gotta go! My class is across campus and I'll be late if I don't skedaddle. See you, around!"

---

"Did you ever get her name?!" Hanhui sat up in the bed, intrigued by the story. She ignored the twinge of jealously that suddenly appeared in her heart and inched closer so she could hear the name of the girl that was Taehyung's "like at first sight."

His story sounded quite familiar to her though; maybe she shouldn't say anything, she's probably not the one he was talking about.

"Yes, yes I did. I saw her around school and she was always smiling. She hung out with a small group, but that didn't mean that she wasn't popular with almost the whole grade for her bright personality. I don't think she recognized me though, since I changed a lot after our encounter." Taehyung ran his hand through his hair as he smiled at Hanhui.

"Then what was her name?" Unintentionally, she inched closer towards his face.

"Secret!~" He quickly pecked her lips and smirked as she covered and hid under the thin white covers of the infirmary bed.

God, her memory is pretty bad.

Taehyung looked at the flustered Hanhui a little more seriously; he had suddenly become a little greedy and after just getting a taste of her sweet lips, he wanted to claim her them one more time.

"Why are you... staring at me?" His gaze traveled from her eyes and down to her lips. Pink and full, and they delicately complimented the littler features on her face. He knew that he couldn't hold back this urge anymore.

With a quick movement, Taehyung pressed his body up closer to her smaller body, causing her to fall back against the bed. As she was about to say something to oppose his actions, he cut her off by gently pressing his lips against hers. Naturally, she was initially shocked; she didn't know how to respond. Her eyes fluttered shut and she nervously and awkwardly responded back to his kiss.

He was gentle and patient and matched the pace of their mouths together. Her lips were soft and... sweet, the taste of chocolate lingered on them. As he hovered above her, one of his hands slid down the curves of her body to rest on her hip.

Her heart was beating wildly as millions of things seemed to be running through her mind, she still didn't know how to respond. Reluctantly, she wrapped her arms around his neck.

The sound of the door opening interrupted the both of them from what they were doing. Taehyung pulled back unwillingly and gave her a small smile before pecking her lips lightly.

"I won't be so nice next time, kitten."
