My Uncle - JAENO
Different Doors NCT ShotsA heavy sigh drifted out of the officers tired lips. It was a usual dreading Sunday in the down town of his lovely home country, with the heat beating his drenched body. Jeno was really used to watching vehicles speeding on the roads, and catching them with his half wrecked car. He swatted his hand on his forehead and fixed his hat, stepping out of the front seat.
Jeno enjoyed watching shoppers passing by him, sometimes even waves back at their jubilant grins. He remembered those regular customers, that would go on a grocery spree every first day of the week. The old lady with the pearly earrings would pass first, some days he gives her a hand on crossing the road. Also the man with a lengthy white beard and chubby face, while his plump belly would would drop out of his shorts. Sometimes he would glare at Jeno. He never understood why though, it still creeps him out.
The brunet cop settled his walkie talkie in his pocket, then crossed his arms. He felt a small tug on the hip, and looked around, but found no one.
"Excuse me, Mr Policeman sir." A small voice squeaked. Jeno had to bring his view down, to see a little boy. He had dusky, chocolate hair, with dark coloured eyes that still bubbled. An unsure smile was put on his lips, as he snuggled a moose like stuffed animal with his left arm.
The cop crouched down to the lads height, "What's the problem little dude?"
"Have you seen my uncle around here?" He asked, tilting his head to the side and plastering a puzzled look. Jeno lightly chuckled at his adorable actions.
"Uh, no." He answered, "Are you lost?"
The boy shook his head, "I know where I'm going, my uncle is the one that's lost." The young one muttered, "Can you help me look for him?"
The man smiled firmly and nodded, though inside he was laughing. This kid sure knows what he's doing.
Clasping his small hand with the other's index finger, the little tugged him. Jeno glanced at him, "What's your name?"
"I'm Kim Jinwoo, and I'm five!" He spluttered excitedly.
Jeno hummed, "Oh really. Where was your uncle last at?"
Jinwoo tapped his chin, "We were at the grocery store buying apples, because mom wants to make apple pie for dinner tonight. Then I went back to the smoothie shop because I forgot McSnuggles there."
Laughing again, Jeno stated that they should head to the nearby grocery store to check if his uncle was there. Little Jinwoo agreed, and hugged his stuffed toy tighter. His small steps was something Jeno needed to keep in speed with, as his short feet shuffled way too much.
Jeno decided to start a conversation, "So, do you believe in when they say apples keep the doctors away?"
Jinwoo sharply shook his head, "No. But I do believe garlic can kill vampires!"
The police officer laughed. "Oh really?"
"Yeah!" The kid said, "And if it's true, I would never eat apples ever again. Not even apple pie. My uncle is a doctor, I don't want to be away from him!" He tug on Jeno's finger tighter. "He's a...what do you call that doctor again- a dentist! Uncle Nana is a dentist." His lips formed a wide circle as Jinwoo continued talking, "He makes me brush my teeth two times a day. That's why my teeth are nice and white. Just take a Mr Policeman sir!" Jinwoo spread his lips open, showing off his pearly set of white teeth.
Jeno wowed, quiet impressed at the kids teeth. He remembered himself back in those years, each of his front teeth falling off one by one. Sneering at the thought, Jeno couldn't help but flinch.
"This is why mom doesn't trust my uncle much. He would always wonder around. Last summer, he accidentally went into the ladies toilet, while the rest of us went into the car!" Jinwoo hugged his belly and began to giggle, Jeno couldn't help but follow the fella.
