Chapter 11; What a pain

Red Lines

  SPRING; April

Monday -- Morning

Because Jiyoo had a little crisis on Saturday regarding her period, the rest of the weekend was just downright terrible. Jungkook’s father had to do a crash course lesson on what to do when she got her period, but she couldn’t pay attention during his lecture due to how uncomfortably the pad chaffed the side of her crotch area.

It also didn’t help that she was left alone for the whole weekend. Jungkook’s father said it would be better for Jiyoo to spend the weekend alone (aka without Jungkook) due to how unstable her pheromones might be. Jungkook argued that her pheromones never affected him before, but couldn’t say anything when his father said that nothing happened yet and could still occur within the next week while Jiyoo has her period.

Saturday night wasn’t too bad. Jungkook had been kind enough to run to the store and buy a whole bunch of snacks for Jiyoo before he and his father had gone home for the night. He also talked on the phone with her all night up until they’d fallen asleep and their phones died.

Sunday morning was when went down.

Jiyoo got up at around 11 AM from staying up late with Jungkook, she’d woken up with a soaking wet pad and a giant stain on her bed. She was busy doing laundry for her dirtied bed sheet and blanket all morning and opted to just throwing away her pants and underwear due to purely not wanting to deal with it. Luckily there was no stain on the actual bed itself, and the stains on her bedsheet and blanket faded with a single wash. When everything was finished it was already 3 o'clock, and Jiyoo was feeling super hungry.

Before she could rummage through her cabinets for something to eat, she’d heard her phone ring. She’d answered the phone without checking the caller ID since the other person could only be one of two people:

Jungkook or Jungkook’s father.

“Hey Jiyoo, are you feeling okay?” Jungkook’s voice called through the speaker.

The sound of Jungkook’s voice automatically makes Jiyoo internally sigh, allowing her to voice her opinion about how ‘great’ her day was going. “The pad hurts and every time I walk, I feel like my lower half is being ripped apart.”

She continued to complain about her period and Jungkook just listened patiently. He made a few grossed out comments when she gave him too much information, but overall sympathized with her and complained on his part too- about his father.

He was still mad that his father didn’t let him go to see her. It didn’t make any sense either since Jungkook would get to see you at school the next day anyways.

“At least we can see each other at school tomorrow.” Jiyoo says hopefully, laughing a little as Jungkook just groans.

“And we won’t have to deal with them either.” Jungkook grumbles, complaining about the other guys that tended to always be around when something bad happened to him and Jiyoo. “Just call me if you need anything, alright?”

They’d done their usual routine from Saturday night, only hanging up their phone calls to go and take a shower before calling one another right back afterwards. Jiyoo made sure to check her pad more often too, successfully preventing any leakage until the real problem started.

She had no idea how to stop herself from bleeding everywhere while she was asleep. Jiyoo thought about using a tampon since they were in the bag that Jungkook’s father had given her, but the thought of sticking something up in a place where things were usually supposed to come out from bothered her a lot. Eventually she’d just forced herself to change her pad one last time before she’d KO’ed to sleep that night.

It was especially nice since Jungkook was being extra nice to her since she started her period. He sang to her as she began to doze off and made sure to end the call while she was sleeping so that their phones wouldn’t die overnight before school.

Jiyoo woke up the next morning disoriented and uncomfortably wet again. The sleep she got last night was a little closer to none due to her irritation from the pad. It didn’t help either since she’d been woken up by Jungkook knocking on her door instead of her alarm.

“Jiyoo-yah! Wake up already!” Jungkook called from outside, banging his fist against the door as he tapped his foot impatiently. “We’re going to be late to school!”

The noise didn’t make her wake up, if anything it just brought forth a wave of irritation within her. She never got irritated with Jungkook often, but in this moment she just wanted to punch him. Jiyoo flung her blanket off her body and trudged off the bed, only to feel a dreadful squish from down below.

She leaked again.

Just when she thought nothing could get any worse, Jungkook decided that he was going to come inside to check up on Jiyoo. She heard the familiar chime of keys jingling and only then did she realize what kind of situation she was in. As soon as he’d managed to unlock the door and twist the handle, he’d pushed forward only to have the door be slammed back closed.

“What-”

“Don’t come in!” Jiyoo yelps, already feeling a small trickle near her thigh. “Give me 10 minutes!”

Jiyoo locked the door and the deadbolt just in case Jungkook didn’t listen to her. She ran to her dresser first and grabbed a change of clothes and a pad before trying her best to run to the bathroom without actually running. Since there was no way for her stop the bleeding just by sheer will alone, Jiyoo had to be quick.

She’d hopped into the shower and began to strip, not forgetting to tie up her hair. Jiyoo’s hair was really long, therefore tangled a lot since she’d just woken up. Eventually she’d just tied it into a messy bun and the shower so she could get cleaned up.

Turning off the shower, she’d rushed to wipe the water off her body when she heard something rumbling outside. It sounded like running water at the same time and she wasn’t sure if the noise was coming from her house or something else. Then she realized it-

That was her washing machine.

Jiyoo got dressed and made sure to put a pad on before rushing outside. She found Jungkook squinting at the liquid measuring cup for the laundry detergent, completely oblivious to her presence.

“Jeon Jungkook!” Jiyoo screams as she stomps her foot down. “I told you to stay outside.”

“And I told you to call me if you needed anything.” Jungkook says despite how Jiyoo was practically fuming now.

Jungkook quickly deduced how much laundry detergent he needed before closing the lid to the washing machine. Walking over to Jiyoo’s bed, she feels her heart leap out of her chest for a moment before she realizes that Jungkook had already taken her sheet and blanket off to wash. Jungkook sits on her bed and pats the empty space next to him. Jiyoo trudges over to where he sat, plopping down on the bed with a loud huff.

“You didn’t need to do my laundry…” Jiyoo mutters, feeling embarrassed that Jungkook had seen all of that.

“It wasn’t that much blood.” Jungkook shrugs, leaning back so that his back was up against the wall. “Remember that time when we were playing Wii boxing and I got a nosebleed?”

Jiyoo chortles. How could she forget? She and Jungkook were too into their game of boxing that they hadn’t realized that the safety wristbands had somehow come off their wrists. Jiyoo’s controller had flung up in the air after a strong uppercut, hitting the ceiling of Jungkook’s room before sailing back down and almost hitting him in the face. Jungkook managed to dodge in time, but wasn’t looking where he was going and his face smacked right into the wall.

Jungkook’s white walls were stained red from his nosebleed. It was so bad that even after Jungkook’s father had wiped everything down, there was still a faded red blob on the wall. That’s when Jungkook’s father thought it was a great time to repaint the interior of the house, thus allowing Jungkook to hide the stain with a couple coats of dark blue paint.

“That was pretty bad.” Jiyoo hummed. She still remembers how badly they panicked when it happened. Jungkook was too much in pain to do anything and Jiyoo’s only reaction was to grab her bath towel and soak up as much blood as her towel could hold.

Since Jungkook had started a load of laundry, they had no choice but to stay at the house and finish up before they’d gone to school. Jiyoo wasn’t too happy about missing school, but Jungkook had already thought of that ahead of time.

Jiyoo just didn’t realize it until they finished eating breakfast and her alarm had gone off while they were doing dishes. Her alarm signaled the usual time she needed to wake up to go to school, which meant that she’d actually woken up earlier than usual. It explained the exhaustion that hit her along with how quickly she’d gotten irritated. Jungkook fooled her good.

“I can’t believe you came an hour earlier than usual.” Jiyoo sighs, feeling a bit stupid herself for not realizing what Jungkook had done.

Jungkook shrugged, but didn’t argue since he did come extremely early. And he usually came early to Jiyoo’s house to begin with so that he could hang out inside before they went to school together. Today was different purely because he had been restricted from seeing her over the weekend.

“And since I came early, I brought breakfast!” Jungkook cheers, earning an ‘ooh’ from Jiyoo who cheered with him.

He walked over to his bag and pulled out two sandwiches, along with two packs of juice and two hash browns in little white packages.

“You bought Wcdonalds?” Jiyoo teases, purposely flubbing on her pronunciation of the popular food chain with a sly grin.

Jungkook catches on to her joke and smiles, “I love Mcdymaids, don’t you?”

Being the two little weebs they were, Jiyoo and Jungkook enjoyed their breakfast to the fullest. The washer had finished a little after they’d finished eating, allowing them to put everything into the dryer and giving Jiyoo enough time to get ready for school.

Jungkook sat on Jiyoo’s bed and watched silently as she struggled to comb the tangles out from her hair. She did tie it into a bun without brushing it after all, so it was only natural that her hair didn’t want to cooperate anymore. Jiyoo eventually gave up and went to get dressed in her uniform first.

“Need help brushing your hair?” Jungkook asks.

Jiyoo hums as she's deciding on which pair of socks to use. Since summer was drawing near, she decided to wear the socks that just barely covered her ankles. Heading over to the bed, Jiyoo sits on the ground below Jungkook and passes him the hair brush.

Jungkook, unlike Jiyoo, had patience for brushing her hair. It was strange because Jungkook tended to not have the patience for anything, but since he offered, Jiyoo didn't mind. He brushed the tips of first before separating her hair into sections. Jungkook took his time brushing out the little knots and kinks in Jiyoo’s hair. She felt at ease being pampered, and let her back lean against Jungkook’s legs. Eventually she'd fallen asleep.

Once Jungkook finished brushing Jiyoo’s hair, he already known she'd fallen asleep. She was too quiet and didn't say anything when Jungkook accidentally pulled her hair too hard.

He gently laid her head against the side of the bed before walking around. Jiyoo was fast asleep, one sock in hand and the other halfway on her foot. Jungkook chuckles as he finishes the job. After she finally had her socks on correctly, Jungkook picked Jiyoo up and put her on the bed.

With her hair finally untangled, it flowed around her shoulders and fanned out across the bed. Jiyoo looked like a sleeping beauty.

Jungkook leans down and kisses her on the forehead. His princess.

Of course, he wouldn't be that affectionate to her while she was awake. Jiyoo would probably slap him for being cheesy.

After going on his phone for a few minutes, the dryer was already done. Jungkook went over and took Jiyoo’s sheets and blanket out from it, but discovered another problem. Jiyoo was still laying down on the bed and was fast asleep.

Jungkook’s solution? Cocoon her.

“Jiyoo-yah, doesn’t this feel nice?” Jungkook teases as he drops the pile of laundry on her stomach.

Feeling the warm begin to envelope her torso, Jiyoo automatically curls into a ball, taking the warm sheets with her. She slowly flips onto her side and cuddles the warm fluff.

“Mhhm.” She hums, not bothering to open her eyes.

Jungkook laughs seeing how small she looked on her own bed. Heading over to his backpack, he checks the time and tilts his head a bit. Letting out a small hum, he decides that now would be a good time to tell Jiyoo what’s been on his mind for a little while now.

“By the way Jiyoo,” He pauses, slinging his backpack over his shoulder. “It’s 7:50.”

“And?” Jiyoo groans.

Jungkook watches as Jiyoo continues to keep her eyes closed. He doesn’t tell her what’s about to happen next, for she understands it herself after realizing what 7:50 symbolized.

“Oh no!” Jiyoo yelps. She rolls out of the bed and falls onto her knees. Jiyoo doesn’t stop to let the pain settle in though. Instead, she rushes around the room to find her phone and her backpack. She took a quick glance at Jungkook, who was standing very nonchalantly with the front door open. “Why didn’t you wake me up earlier?”

“I lost track of time.” He shrugs.

Jiyoo manages to open her phone up and see that someone turned off her second alarm that she set to make sure she would leave the house on time. Glaring at Jungkook being the only person that could’ve done it, she pockets the so said phone and locks the front door from the inside. Slamming the door shut, Jiyoo hooks her hand in Jungkook’s and yanks him to school as they both ran together. Jungkook had a happy grin on his face as he ran, while Jiyoo’s determined expression was just as adorable.

They barely made it to school with a minute to spare. Their classmates had already gotten settled in their history class and were waiting as patiently as teenagers could at 8 in the morning. Once Jungkook and Jiyoo came in, the rest of the class couldn’t help but stare.

Jungkook looked good. He only had a light layer of sweat across his forehead as he laughed walking down the aisle. Jiyoo on the other hand looked like she was suffering. She was sweaty and she didn’t have the chance to tie her hair before she ran to school. The strands leading down to her waist were tangled and wavy, making her hair look much more voluminous than usual while her body appeared smaller.

The two sat in their usual spots all the way in the back of the class, unaware that everyone was still staring at them until the teacher had walked in. Jiyoo realized it, and tapped Jungkook’s shoulder to face forward. Only then did they see everyone’s eyes on them.

Jungkook made a threatening motion and pulled his arm back to signal that he would fight someone if everyone didn’t turn around. It made the majority of the class turn, their eyes avoiding his as they felt chills run down their spines. The only people that didn’t stop staring in their direction were the two boys sitting in front of Jiyoo and Jungkook.

“Um… Class is starting soon, so you should turn around.” Jiyoo whispers, her eyes only on Jungkook as the latter appeared to be seething from the disobedience from his fellow classmates.

Jiyoo didn’t understand why Jungkook was so upset. She also didn’t see the two boys in front of her blushing at her words to them. Their cheeks were decorated with matching red streaks, only getting brighter the more Jiyoo motioned for them to turn around before Jungkook really decided to swing.

Before Jiyoo could tell them again, the two boys had spun around in their seats so fast that they let out groans. It was as if they’d given themselves whiplash and Jiyoo didn’t understand what happened until a few of the students surrounding them had started to look a bit pale as well.

The only person that could’ve had the power to do that was an Alpha, which Jiyoo was oh so conveniently sitting next to for the duration of this class period.

That class had passed awkwardly, though quick enough for Jiyoo and Jungkook to be unbothered by all of the staring they received. The class directly after was a class that the two didn’t share, but it wasn’t so bad. Jungkook walked with her to her second period and made sure to pick her up afterwards to go to third period. The next class for third period was their shared gym class and Jiyoo was by no means happy with how she was treated in the girls locker room.

It was hell. As soon as she’d walked in, all the girls had turned to look at her in search of ‘what that smell was’. Some girls immediately went over to her and pinched her cheeks, calling her names like “baby” and “cutie” while other girls just scoffed as they spoke badly of her behind her back. Jiyoo didn’t understand why she was being treated like this, especially since those so said girls never really bothered to talk to her until now. She made sure to change her pad before heading out to PE, finding that the run to school didn’t exactly do her any good.

No stains though, which was a plus.

“Jiyoo-yah!” Jungkook calls out, motioning for her to come near her as his eyes wandered to check the surroundings around them. “Come here!”

“Kay!” Jiyoo was going to find Jungkook today anyways since they always stayed together in their shared classes.

Jiyoo might’ve been oblivious to the stares they were getting from people now, but that didn’t mean Jungkook was too. He watched as both boys and girls turned their heads as Jiyoo walked by, as if they’d felt a sudden presence that urged for their sudden attention. Girls were confused as to why they’d all turned in sync at this little girl while boys already knew why they’d spun around so suddenly.

Girl + Sweet smell = Mate

Jungkook pulls Jiyoo into his arms and walks with her to the side near the bleachers. Any guy that got within two feet of the pair were automatically glared at by Jungkook. Jiyoo and Jungkook did stretches together, ultimately ignoring anyone that got too close. Jungkook did a good job at distracting Jiyoo; He spoke about upcoming tests and anime that were going to be released, having fun with Jiyoo as he almost forgot the predicament that they were in.

But alas, not everything is going to go the way it was planned.

“You two!” Causing Jiyoo and Jungkook to both look in the direction of the sudden voice. Usually, when someone at their school referred to something similar to “those two” or “that pair”, they were talking about Jiyoo and Jungkook.

Jiyoo and Jungkook turned and saw their gym teacher marching over to them. He had a smug smile on his face and a large coffee in hand.

“Go and exercise with the others.” He sneers, not really caring what they had to say about it.

“We’re exercising just fine sir.” Jungkook mumbles, as he tries to wrack his brain for a way out of this situation.

It was a bad move on Jungkook’s part. Their teacher was taken aback by his attitude and straightens himself out. “I said, go. Damn brats.” He mutters the last part under the under his breath.

Jiyoo stands up immediately to obey their teacher’s orders, but immediately collapses after taking a step. Her knees and hands dug into the grass as she tries to steady herself.

“S-Sir, I don’t feel so good.” Jiyoo groans. The color drained from her face the more she tried to move. It was as if something deleted the motor movement ability in her mind.

The teacher doesn’t understand why she’d suddenly fallen. He huffs, stepping forward and grabbing her by the arm before hoisting her up. “I just said to exercise with the others. You don’t have to be so dramatic-”

Being this close to Jiyoo, it was almost impossible to miss it. It was the smell that all of the other students were lured in by earlier that day. Due to Jiyoo’s time of the month, her pheromones were being emitted whether she liked it or not.

And she didn’t like it. Especially with all the unnecessary attention.

“Oh…” Their gym teacher continues to hold Jiyoo up as he observes her face. Jiyoo didn’t look exactly healthy and the teacher knew this. “I should take you to the health room if you’re feeling sick.”

He makes a move to grab for Jiyoo’s other hand, but makes a small sound of disagreement as she pulls away. Their teacher has a smile on his face, though his eyes say another thing as he glares at Jiyoo as she continues to fight back against his hold.

Jungkook watches the scene unfold from the side and immediately goes to step in.

“I’ll take her.” He announces, not really caring what the teacher had to say before pulling Jiyoo into his arms.

She gratefully hooked her arm around Jungkook’s shoulder and allowed him to carry her back into the school. Jiyoo kept her head tucked into Jungkook’s shoulder, eyes hidden from the rest of the world until he’d finally stopped running and set her down.

The bitter smell of disinfectant stung Jiyoo’s nose as she settled atop one of the beds. With her legs dangling off the edge, she sits off to the side as Jungkook consults the nurse. There were a few other girls in the nurse’s office that tried getting Jungkook’s attention. They held his arm and shamelessly made cute faces at Jungkook as they wanted to ‘get to know him better’.

Although Jungkook was flat out ignoring them, the sight made Jiyoo’s stomach twist. She didn’t like the feeling and opted to lay down with her back facing the scene.

“You girls, get out of here already.” The nurse yawns, shooing them away like pests.

The girls have no choice but to leave and the nurse doesn’t hesitate to close the door immediately after the last one stepped outside into the hall. Turning back to Jungkook, she motions for him to lead the way to the source of the problem: Jiyoo.

“So…” The nurse looks at the two and sniffs the air, “A late bloomer, I see?”

Jiyoo continues to lay down as she turns over, nodding her head at the nurse.

“And you’re saying she gets sick every time she’s put under Alpha pheromones?” The nurse asks, unsure of what the problem is. “Have you tried Beta pheromones as well?”

“I never used to let people get close to her.” Jungkook mutters, his voice going quiet. “It’s just recently I’ve been, messing up. Kinda...”

“Ahh... Well there’s a solution to her problem, if that’s what you’re looking for.”

Jungkook’s ears perk up after hearing about curing Jiyoo’s sickness, while Jiyoo slowly begins to sit up. Seeing her struggle, Jungkook doesn’t hesitate to aid her. The nurse watches their interaction and smiles, though not saying anything else until their attention was back on her again.

“Aside from the normal pains of having your period, is there anything that’s been bothering you recently?” The nurse asks Jiyoo, pulling out a notebook from the pocket of her coat.

Jiyoo nods, but doesn’t know how to describe it. “My stomach gets sore a lot. And people keep looking at me recently. It’s really weird…”

The nurse chuckles, “Again, those are normal reactions.”

As Jungkook takes a seat next to Jiyoo, the nurse doesn’t hesitate to continue speaking of why Jiyoo seems to be the center of attention recently.

“You see, girls naturally mature faster than boys. It’s the reason that they go through puberty much earlier than boys, as well as the fact that it saves everyone the awkward tension during this specific time in teenagers’ lives.”

Jiyoo slowly nods her head, though she doesn’t understand where the nurse is going with this talk.

“It’s normal for boys to go through puberty during high school- when girls are already finished with their puberty periods and know how to control their pheromones accordingly.” The nurse pauses to take a look at Jiyoo before the latter realized what she meant.

“So I’m disrupting the cycle?” Jiyoo gasps softly, earning a nod from the nurse.

Jiyoo turns to look at Jungkook, who isn’t exactly pleased to hear the news. “Is there any way we can stop that from happening? I-I mean, so Jiyoo isn’t uncomfortable.” He stutters, making sure to cover up his jealous streak before Jiyoo could notice.

She didn’t appear to think anything else of what he’d just said. It gave him a little breathing room, though he wasn’t sure that the nurse was going to let him get away with that kind of slip up so easily.

“Well, she could get pregnant.”

The room goes dead silent and Jiyoo and Jungkook just stare at the nurse who shrugs. “I mean you two are mates, aren’t you? It’ll stop the periods for sure if you just-”

“We’re just best friends!” Jiyoo and Jungkook chorus together. Their faces were red from getting hit by not one, but two shocking blows at the same time.

To be asked if they were mates made them embarrassed enough. On top of that, Jiyoo was suddenly given the proposition to get pregnant? Not on Jungkook’s watch. He clears his throat and looks at the nurse who has a smug little grin on her face.

Yeah, she definitely wasn’t letting him off for almost slipping up that he was jealous of Jiyoo’s problem.

“Or she could just take pain reliever medicine.” The nurse says finally, already walking over to the cabinet to go and get Jiyoo some. “Either one works though.”

“We’ll take the medicine, please.” Jiyoo mumbles. She kept her head hanging low since she could still feel the heat on her cheeks from being embarrassed.

Jungkook hopped off the nurse’s bed and holds out a hand to help Jiyoo down. He’s not exactly looking at her, but the kind gesture was still there, and Jiyoo takes his hand gratefully.

“Remember, you can take them every four hours.” The nurse reminds them. She hands Jiyoo a bottle of water and opens the door for them to leave. “Bye bye for now. By the way, you two are so cute, you know that?”

Jiyoo and Jungkook’s faces flush a deep red before they made their leave, not forgetting to thank the nurse, but not exactly being 100% calm about the situation. Since it was lunch already, Jungkook took Jiyoo back to the locker rooms to get changed while he quickly changed back into his uniform himself. He walked Jiyoo to the cafeteria to eat lunch while simultaneously scaring off everyone else from getting too close.

They ate quickly to escape the plethora of eyes that followed their every move. Jungkook noticed that Jiyoo wasn’t eating much either, prompting him to just take her out of that uncomfortable situation. Once again, they didn’t have classes together until the last period of the day, which was graphics class. Jungkook repeated the process of walking Jiyoo to and from her classes. Overall the plan worked- until Jiyoo got to her statistics class.

The class seemed to be more out of control that usual. Jiyoo sat in the very back of the class, wanting to not attract any more attention than she already did for the day. Of course, fate wouldn’t let that happen. Instead of just staring at her, the boys in Jiyoo’s class actually advanced closer to get a better look at her. They surrounded the chairs around her, as if they were a pack of wild animals trapping their prey.

She kept her bag on the chair next to her to prevent anyone from sitting next to her, but even that wasn’t enough. One of the more braver boys had went around the table and motioned to her backpack, as if to ask if the seat was taken.

“Thanks for saving me a seat Jiyoo!”

The boy that was trying to sit next to Jiyoo was roughly pushed aside by none other than Yugyeom. He picks up Jiyoo’s backpack and holds it in his lap, wrapping his arms around it like a teddy bear as he turns to look at the boy that still stood next to their table.

“Can I help you?” Yugyeom asks, watching as the boy opens his mouth to say something. No words came out and Yugyeom just shrugs before turning back to Jiyoo.

“Thanks…” Jiyoo says with a hushed whisper.

Yugyeom nods and begins to take out his books for the class from his own backpack. He still made sure to hold Jiyoo’s backpack though, not wanting to put it on the floor like what he did for his own backpack. The interesting thing was that Yugyeom didn’t do anything more than that; He paid attention in the class and took notes like usual, the aura around him being very relaxed despite how Jiyoo was sure that her pheromones were affecting him in some way.

“Maybe my pheromones are just making him nicer today?” She thinks inwardly, unaware of how the teacher was calling her name.

“Ms. Yoo. I believe you have the answer to my question, or are you daydreaming in my class?” The teacher asks promptly.

Jiyoo holds a calm face, but inside she’s actually panicking. Before she could stutter out that she wasn’t paying attention, she feels something tap her elbow. Looking down, Yugyeom had slid his notebook over and had written down the answer to the problem for her.

“T-The degree of freedom is 5, ma’am…” Jiyoo trails off.

The teacher nods and turns back around to begin teaching. Jiyoo lets out a small sigh of relief and looks at Yugyeom, who was already smiling at her.

“Thanks, again.” Jiyoo says, much less wary this time.

Her relaxed tone made Yugyeom’s smile grow. He placed a hand on her own, fingers brushing against the back of her palm. “Anytime.”

His touch was gone before Jiyoo could pull away and for the rest of the class, Yugyeom was silent. Jiyoo was glad. Yugyeom’s presence made all of the others keep their distance, even during the individual study time. She only had to talk to Yugyeom about how to solve a few problems here and there.

With twenty minutes of class left, Jiyoo was starting to get anxious. It’s been almost four hours since she last took a pain reliever medicine, and she could already feel her stomach start to churn from the pain of her period. She felt the need to go to the bathroom as well, but couldn’t reach her sanitary napkins if her backpack was in Yugyeom’s lap.

“Er, Yugyeom ssi?” Jiyoo whispers. Her small voice caused Yugyeom to turn his body to her fully, the action startling her a bit. “Can I have my bag?”

“We don’t end class until 2:40 though?” Yugyeom questions, looking at his phone and then back at Jiyoo who doesn’t look him in the eye.

“I know, but I- uh…” Jiyoo looks around and sees the teacher staring at them from afar since they were the only ones talking in the room. “I need to go to the health room.”

“I’ll take you there.”

Yugyeom already started packing his own belongings away and handed Jiyoo’s backpack back to her as he went up to get permission from the teacher to leave. He returned with a small smile and an open palm. Jiyoo doesn’t take his hand, but instead nods as she walks with him back outside into the hallway.

They walked slowly down the hall. Yugyeom’s long legs allowed Jiyoo to walk and stop, while Jiyoo’s stomach ache was worsening, causing her to walk in short spurts before she had to paused to hold her stomach.

“A-Actually, I need to use the bathroom.” Jiyoo mutters, feeling the sweat start to form on her forehead from the pain. “You should go back to class-”

“I’ll wait for you.”

Jiyoo stares up at Yugyeom who looked as serious as can be. He holds his hand out for Jiyoo’s backpack, but she shies away.

“I can hold it Yugyeom ssi.” Jiyoo yelps as her ankle gets caught on her other foot, causing her to fall backward.

Before she could fall, Yugyeom looped his arm around her waist and held her close to his own body. The action made Jiyoo flush. It didn’t feel the same as when Jungkook held her- If anything it felt foreign and she didn’t like it. She tried to walk around Yugyeom to head to the bathroom, but instead of walking, she was pushed back into the wall. Yugyeom looked down at her and only now has he ever seemed so scary in Jiyoo’s eyes.

“Call me Yugyeom.” He says in a hushed voice, eyes unwavering as he stared into Jiyoo’s eyes.

For a second, Jiyoo sees something familiar in Yugyeom’s eyes.

It’s the same look that she saw on the boys when her pheromones were released at Jungkook’s house. Desire.

Chapter 38: okay wow...so much is happening my brain can hardly register everything but that would be my fault
When I started reading I did not want to stop until I read everything, I absolutely love this. This is heartwarming, its beautiful...
I love Suga no matter what, Love HIM....
Although I do have to say that the laws with their titles is very one sided, it seems to work only for Alphas, everything just makes sense very ugh...I mean i get it and I love how the guys love Jiyoo as the person instead of the title but its still very unpleasant...Like Jungha for example, she literally just admitted flat out that she only wants to be their mate, Jungkook's mate, just to be superior to everyone else, which is perfect for her that is her personality perfectly...still kind of confused whether its a whole group mating or not, i could be getting it confused soo many amazing stories...

Chapter 38: I love how soft/sweet this chapter was. I'm glad we're finally seeing more from Yoongi and they're growing closer. I hope she continues to try to be more independent, but also still somewhat a cuddly dependent baby ? Can't wait to see the reactions and thoughts of the other members!

Chapter 37: Jungkook might have been attracted to Jungah's pheromones since, as he said, they felt motherly. So he misses his mother's presence. Thank goodness almost all of them are slapped in realization. And I don't hate Jungah... I despise her.
