“Do you think I want this?! Staying up late, missing out on sleep just for work?” Kyuhyun growls, annoyed, “Everything I do is for us! It’s for you and our son!”

“Well, he’s not our son!” Ryeowook snaps with a strangled cry. He shakes his head and falls back down onto the couch, burying his head into his hands and he sobs, “Henry’s not our son. He’s not anymore.”

Kyuhyun’s tensed shoulders sags as he forgets all about his anger and irritation towards his husband accusation towards him. He lowers himself onto his knees and then embraces Ryeowook. He isn’t able to think of any words to say and so, he opts to just hold Ryeowook close. Kyuhyun feels Ryeowook’s heart breaking, he knows that his is hurting just as much. He thinks it’s funny how the moment he thinks he has his life all figured out, fate literally decides to his life up once again. Now Kyuhyun’s lost, confused, scared, frustrated, depressed and disappointment. He doesn’t know which emotion is the more overwhelming more and truthfully right now, he feels as though he doesn’t know anything anymore.

What do you even do when you find out that the son you’ve been raising for five years suddenly isn’t yours?

Donghae grips the edge of the counter, feeling his knees weak with strong negative emotions that are filling up his heart. Hyukjae attempts to give Donghae comfort but Donghae once again avoids it, shifting further way from his husband.

“What do we do?” Donghae asks, eyes looking at his feet as he brings his fingers up and starts chewing on them, “He’s not our son.”

“He is our son, Hae.” Hyukjae corrects Donghae softly.

“I didn’t give birth to him, Hyukjae.” Donghae whispers shakily, “The baby that I gave birth to… Our real son…. I don’t know where he is, I don’t know how he looks like, I don’t know if he’s even healthy and… I-I don’t even know if I can love him the same as Jeno.”

Hyukjae looks at Donghae sympathetically before he sighs, leaning his body against the counter. He understands his husband, he knows that Donghae’s hurting more especially because he’s the one who went through the pain of giving birth to their son. Hyukjae brings his hand up, wanting to comfort Donghae but he decides against it, afraid that Donghae’s going to avoid him once more. Instead, Hyukjae wonders what’s going to happen now and why does it feel as though Donghae feels so far away from him when he’s just right next to him.
