“Sister…So-Hee…what are you doing?” So-Hee’s favorite sister, Baek-Rah*, stared at her older sister.

“Where’s that cosmetics…?” So-Hee mumbled worriedly.

Princess from Silla royalty knew her half sister’s romantic feelings for Soo-Hwa-Jin, Soo for short, since long time ago. When young So-Hee visited palace to see her mother, who always rejected her due to the hideous scar that marred her face. But there was only boy who wasn’t disgusted by her face, who was none other than young Soo-Hwa-Jin. The boy visited the palace by his father and greeted the king. Despite a talkative, lively demeanor that loomed over him, Soo was a very kind and sweet boy. He was polar opposite of So-Hee back then; for she was less talkative, taciturn, and a timid girl.

When he first asked her to play with him, So-Hee knew he was different from other kids. Since then, she have waited for every day to visit the palace to see him again. When she reached to her sixteenth birthday, his cheerful and free-willed personality remained the same. However, whenever Soo approach she often back away bashfully, though hiding the feelings with her cold, tough exterior. Unfortunately, he saw her through and kept being nice to her only.

“He’s coming back from Woo-Kyung’s residence. And I don’t know where the cosmetic he gave it to me, has gone to…” So-Hee muttered as she was having hard time choosing which hanbok she should wear.

“Don’t you have a mask?” Another princess Jung-Hwa* asked.

“Soo stole it.” Soo-Hee said in agitated tone.

“Wait, what?”

“He wanted her to be confident with herself, that’s why he took it.” Tenth princess Eun-Ju replied for her half-sister.

“Then we should face-paint her face.” Ninth princess Won-Bi suggested.

“Too late, he’s here.”

Yo-Hwa pointed at the outside of window, revealing Woo-Kyung and Yeon-Hwa escorting Myung-Seon and his cousin Soo-Hwa-Jin. He was wearing a pale white hanbok with magenta chŏgori, and light blue pants. His hair was tied backward decorated with feathers and jades beads. In the princesses’ eyes, he looked even more charming with his optimistic and charming smile as he innocently looked around the palace.

“Ack! It’s HIM!” Eun-Ju and Jung-Hwa squealed as she ran outside to greet her.

“Don’t run, you’ll fall!” Yo-Hwa warned them as Won-Bi followed behind her.

Soo was surrounded by princesses who were asking for his well-being at eighth princess’s residence. So-Hee’s eyes narrowed, pouting when Soo gave them warm smile. Although she does not openly admit, she gets a little tense when Soo’s with other girls, let alone her sisters. Yeon-Hwa shoved them all inside, letting Soo and his cousin enter. Myung-Seon noticed him looking for someone.

“Would you like to walk around?”

Soo nodded his head. Myung-Seon let his cousin stay at palace garden as he went inside. It’s been a month since the last time he went to see So-Hee. She was quite afraid to take off her mask. Revealing her greatest insecurity.

Sighing heavily, he turned around and ended up bumped into fourth princess. Looking at her for a brief second, he faked the injury, falling on the ground on the back. Laughed at his antics, So-Hee kneeled slightly while hiding her face.

“Well, you bumped into me.”

Stopping his act, he quickly stood up, coughing awkwardly. He noticed her left hand covering her eyes, again, and frowned.

“What happened to your eye? Did you forget to cover the scar?”

So-Hee couldn’t help but unable to answer properly. Since his face was a bit close to her. Then, his hand grabbed hers and let it show her left eyes. He smiled then.

“See? Was that so hard?”

“…hi…” she managed to greet.

With the brightest smile, he greeted her back with kind gestures. Looking at them, the princesses, Myung-Seon and others were looking at them. As much as they were happy to see her, they couldn’t help but feel envious since Soo seemingly favors So-Hee much more. Myung-Seon could only smile at two, along with Baek-Rah.

“Why does brother Soo-Hwa-Jin fusses over So-Hee?” Jung-Hwa pouted.

“He’s very nice man. He’s always this kind to her.” Crown Princess Mu-Ra replied.

“Little did all of you know, both Soo and So-Hee met each other when they were kids…he was practically her play-date back then.”

All princess looked at Myung-Seon with curious yet surprised eyes. Woo-Kyung seemed unsettled, but others could only look back at Soo and So-Hee.

“Please, the only play-dates she has is vixens and wolves. It’s no use to let her socialize with person.” Yo-Hwa snorted snootily.

“I could hear you, shallow! Mind your own business!!!!” Soo yelled in irritation.

So-Hee secretly giggled. Soo-Hwa-Jin has every princess wrapped around his fingers since they all listen to him. Then he grabbed So-Hee’s hand.

“Let’s go inside and help you with the scars.” He said as he dragged her inside the palace through the hall, passing the princesses by.

“It’s no use…it doesn’t make me one of them,” So-Hee muttered bitterly, “I’m not as pretty as they are.”

Then all of sudden, his right palm slammed the pillar, locking her inside. So-Hee startled by his sudden behavior and when she looked up, he looked annoyed and upset.

“Excuse me?” He scoffed then, “are you looking at me? Did you kick my arse? Did you help me recover? Did YOU bring me here? And all of sudden you’re underestimating my talents?”

The princesses could only look at the two.

“Oh, I don’t think so! Not in this moments,” then Soo pointed his fingers shook in front of So-Hee, “you’re getting your own makeups, so GO TO YOUR ROOM!”

A bit intimidated, but bashfully So-Hee nodded her head and went inside her room. Inwardly, she was a bit happy that Soo didn’t think of her scar important but cares about her. Baek-Rah giggled as she watches Soo covering her scar with so much delicacy. So-Hee averted his gaze when their eyes met and he only smiled.

“What? Do I look handsome to you?” He whispered with mischievous, boyish smile.

‘God…he looks charming when he ask me that…!’ So-Hee pouted with blush. As he finished with the makeup, he handed her a mirror.

“Or maybe you’re jealous when I talk to your sisters?” He laughed heartily.

So-Hee unconsciously nodded her head, only to realize what she had just admit. Then with determination, her arms suddenly slithered around his waist possessively and had her face crashed unto his broad chest. Soo-Hwa-Jin jumped in surprise by her boldness. He looked at the door to see princesses stood with their mouth gaping. Baek-Ah stifled her giggle along with Mu-Ra. Myung-Seon covered Woo-Kyung’s eyes as he wasn’t expecting the fourth princesses’ behavior. Other princesses pouted and huffed in envy.

Finding this situation awkward, Soo attempted to catch So-Hee’s attention by patting her back.

“Uhh…princess?”

He heard a muffled sound from her and asked what she just said. Her face looked up with slight pout, but smiled wickedly.

“Mine!” She blurted.

Soo nearly scoffed in amazement as the fourth princess nudged her face back to his broad chest. He grew even more flustered when she muttered the same words for several times. Chae-Ryun who had watching them, took his step back letting them have some privacy. Sighed in defeat, Soo-Hwa-Jin let her be.

“Yes, yes…I am yours, princess. All yours,” Soo sighed, “looks like someone’s jelly today…”

Most girls could see the imaginary vixen tail wagging from fourth princess. So-Hee took a brief glance towards her sisters and made a victorious smirk. This almost urged Yo-Hwa, Woo-Kyung, Eun-Ju and Jung-Hwa want to tear her hair off. Luckily, Mu-Ra and Baek-Rah dragged them away.

As they were all gone, So-Hee let go. She looked around in case of anyone’s watching them and when there was no one, she made a rather hungry smile. Soo could immediately recognize that smile but before he could do anything he was ended up pinned down and got himself eaten by his fourth princess. His arms dramatically reach out to the air only to submit to her.
