Chapter 38: Doing it for Fun
Introducing Lady Cutthroat
Leaving her bedroom, something in her face makes her heart jump painfully against her ribs.
“What the , Jongup?!” Haru shouts at him while clutching her chest after gaining her breath. She didn’t know what to scream at him first. “Get that away from my face.” She snarls, eyes lit with rage.
Jongup pulls the gun back down at his side and purses his lips in thought, obviously unaffected by her reaction. “It wasn’t even cocked.”
Is that supposed to make it less frightening? “What the hell were you thinking?” But, she decides she knew the answer to her own question– he wasn’t.
“You need to get over your fear of guns.”
“So, you one into my face?! Get the hell out of here.” Was the man in front of her always this insane?
“You can’t be shaking every time you see one.” He insists.
She shoots him a look. “You’re out of your mind. This isn’t something that will be fixed overnight.”
“I know that.”
“So, what? You’re going to point a gun at me every day until I get better? Don’t make me say it.”
“Say what?”
“That you’re being stupid– look, you made me say it.” Walking away, she goes into the kitchen with Jongup following after her. Grabbing some cereal, she takes a seat at the dining table while he takes the empty seat across from her.
Is it his job to stare at her?
While she digs into her bowl for breakfast, Jongup digs his hand into the box to munch on the dry cereal– a sight that seemed out of place when it’s him doing it. He was always more reserved than that and the act seemed like one he would scold her for if she were the one to do it.
“I need to find something on Geomi.”
“Drop it, Haru. Boss is handling it.” He wasted no time to respond.
“I have my own payback to carry out. I don’t care what my dad is doing.” She remarks. “And don’t worry, it won’t be anything big.”
Silently, Jongup continues to throw bits of cereal into his mouth.
“Come on, Jongup. My dad doesn’t know how to have fun and I know you’re bored too.”

“So, Pari runs the clubs and Geomi supplies the drugs…,” Haru mutters to herself. “Which club should I go to, Hercules?” Standing by the living room window, she looks down at the Rottweiler, obediently sitting at her feet.
She is used to having people follow her around but it’s just so much cuter having a dog do it.
“Are you ready?” Jongup appears around the corner with Barom accompanying him.
Giving Hercules a goodbye pat, Haru walks over to the pair and they quickly leave the home– of course, still minding the company that tries to sneak pictures of the house’s residents. Their endurance is commendable but she would be the one to curse at them for it.
A side note: the three spies aren’t wasting their time watching the home. But, for now, figuring out whatever they’re planning can take a backseat– all she wants now is to have a little fun. A little downtime, if anyone wants to call it that.
Arriving at one of Pari’s club– the assumed site of Geomi’s biggest activity –Haru steps out onto the curb once the car is parked. Walking forward for a bit, she places her arms out to stop Barom and Jongup in their tracks.
“Here’s the plan–,”
“Alright, I’ve been going along with this long enough.” Jongup responds. It didn’t take him very long to finally try to ruin the fun.
“You guys can come in but stay away from me. Geomi and Pari can’t know you’re with me.”
“Why?”
“Because Geomi would actually mind their manners if they see you two.” Jinyoung has only shown his real face before her.
“Fine.” Jongup gives in.
Smiling, she turns around and walks right up to the entrance. When the bouncer stops her, she looks up at him, subtly lifting her hat to show him her identity. One look gains her one free entrance without trouble. Making her way through, she keeps her eyes out for someone familiar and when she does find that someone, she walks over and takes a seat at the bar counter among the other people present tonight.
Eight turns around and cue the fun.
“What are you doing here?” He asks, taken aback by her appearance. Suspicion soon overtakes the short-lived surprise though.
“I’m just here to have a good time.” She replies
