Chapter 14

ENGLISH VERSION

“Guigui, catch the ball！” Jiro tossed the volleyball towards Guigui who clumsily caught it before falling onto the soft white sand. Fahrenheit, Guigui, Minpei and Qiaoqiao were at a beach resort in a private island. Fahrenheit’s company had booked the entire resort for them to reward them for their hard work throughout the years. In fact, the previous night concert in Taipei was a big hit. The company earned millions of dollars from just the Taipei concert itself.

Guigui helped herself up from the sand as Jiro laughed at the girl’s silliness. Minpei laughed at Guigui and cheekily and pulled her towards the shade.

“You can’t play well in shirt and shorts you know~” Minpei tried to imitate a Caucasian.

Guigui simply pouted as she tossed the ball back to Jiro with full force.

“Here! You should get change to this！” Minpei passed some clothes to Guigui.

“What's that？” Guigui stared at the load Minpei had stuffed into her hands.

“This is called Bikini.”

“BIKINI?!” Guigui exclaimed in utter astonishment.

“I'm not wearing it！” Then she the bikini back into Minpei’s arms.

“Just wear it!Look, Qiaoqiao is also wearing it~Aren't you afraid that aaron might think she's hotter than you?” Minpei challenged Guigui. It wasn’t that Minpei wanted to be a bad influence for Guigui, but she simply liked teasing her brother and being older, revealing clothes was her style.

“I'm not allowing you to wear it！” Aaron commanded as he took the bikini from Guigui and passed it to his sister.

“Mei,what are you tryign to do? This doesn't suit guigui at all!" Aaron held onto Guigui’s hand and pulled her along. Minpei stared at the duo and sweet smile spread across her face. “You are just afraid that other men would look at guigui~ Why don't you want to admit it?”

Aaron pulled Guigui towards the volleyball net and asked everyone to gather.

“Do how are we going to divide into the teams?”

“Guigui and Qiaoqiao shall be the leader of each group!” Wuzun suggested. Then, without needing anyone to prompt him further, Wuzun took charge and divided the others into 2 teams. Minpei volunteered to be the judge.

So, with the blow of the whistle, the game started. Guigui and Qiaoqiao both took the front of the court on opposite ends of the net. For the next few minutes, the game went on smoothly with Qiaoqiao’s team winning by 3 points. Then, as Qiaoqiao whacked the volleyball over, Guigui made a futile attempt to hit the ball but ended up stumbling before crashing onto the sand. With that, Qiaoqiao’s team led by 4 points, a major gap for Guigui’s team to cover so as to win.

“Guigui, could you eb more alert and less clumsy?” Wu zun, who was always obsessed about winning, reprimanded her. Guigui nodded guiltily and clenched her fists, determined not to let Qiaoqiao win her again.

The game continued and this round, as the ball flew towards Guigui, Guigui served it beautifully. Wanting to prove to the others that she could play just as well as Qiaoqiao, Guigui slammed the ball down with all her might. Then, she did a victory pose before hearing an agonizing wail.

“Qiao! Are you alright?” Aaron rushed to Qiaoqiao at full speed.

Qiaoqiao had been spacing out for a few seconds when she realized that the volleyball was flying towards her at deadly speed. Unable to react fast enough, the ball had knocked Qiaoqiao right into her face and now, her nose and mouth was bleeding profusely.

Upon seeing what she had done without any ill-intention, Guigui ran towards Qiaoqiao and apologized repeatedly.

“Sorrysorrysorry! I didn't do that on purpose! Are you alright? Let me take a look---” Guigui tried to remove Qiaoqiao’s hand which was spread over her face as she cried painfully.

“Ouch! Don't touch me! it's so painful!” Qiaoqiao screamed as Guigui tried to inspect the damage done to Qiaoqiao’s face. By now blood was oozing out rapidly and everyone was starting to panic.

“Guigui, are you crazy? It just a game! You don't have to hit the ball with so much force!” Aaron scolded her.

“I didn't do it on purpose--I just thought--”

“Forget it.You're always like this.You never know how to look out for other's safety.Who knows, you might even have hurt qiaoqiao on purpose--” Aaron voiced his angry thoughts as he pushed Guigui away and lifted Qiaoqiao up in a bridal fashion.

Guigui stood still and silently as she watched Aaron marched away with Qiaoqiao in his arms. This was the first time Aaron spoke so harshly with her. This was the first time he had scolded her because of another girl. And most importantly, Aaron had suspected that she had hurt Qiaoqiao on purpose. As Calvin and Wuzun went to attend to Qiaoqiao too, Guigui fell onto the sand and burst into tears. Without hesitation, Jiro picked Guigui up and wrapped his arms around her. It hurt him. It hurt him to see this cheery girl down and sobbing because she was hurt by his friend. Aaron’s harsh words echoed in Jiro’s mind and he hugged Guigui a little tighter. He smoothed her hair and allowed her to cry on his shoulders helplessly.

“He's suspecting me--How could he? I really didn't do it on purpose---” Guigui cried louder and harder, hiccupping with every sentence that escaped her dry lips. Jiro patted her head gently and soothed her by telling her that it was going to be alright. Minpei squatted beside Jiro and gave him a helpless look. She knew that her brother had gone overboard by jumping to conclusions and reprimanding Guigui for something she did unintentionally. However, there wasn’t anything she could do to help improve the situation. She simply stood a side and patted Guigui’s back.

“Is qiaoqiao alright？” Minpei asked her brother as he exited Qiaoqiao’s room.

“Yes” He replied with exhaustion.

“Alright.I think you better get some rest, you look tired. So, i'll meet you at dinner alright?” Minpei said with concern. Actually, she wanted to talk to Aaron about Guigui, but seeing him being weak with fatigue, she decided to let him get some rest first. Aaron nodded and walked away, not even bothering to ask about Guigui. Perhaps he was angry or maybe he had forgotten about her. Just then, Guigui appeared from nowhere.

“Wait, Yalun! I need to speak to you!”

Aaron whirled around and sighed.

“I'm really tired Gui.We will talk later alright?”

“But—”

“Guigui, if he doesn't want to speak to you, leave him!”Jiro appeared out of nowhere. “Aaron, i don't know why you are doing this to guigui, but if you are not going to stop, i will take care of her.”With that, Jiro held Guigui’s hand and led her away.

“Why are you just standing here?”Minpei frowned and scolded her older brother.

“Mei,I--forget it.” Aarond didn’t bother to finish his sentence but walked off.

“Guigui, I don’t hate you, but forgive me. With qiaoqiao injured because of your carelessness, I can’t stand one side and do nothing. After all, she likes me and I really do not know how to reject her ‘peacefully’” Aaron sighed and fell asleep.

Alright, i know i have not updated for quite a while, but i was really lazy to translate the story. Takes quite a lot of time you see. Uh well, i will update 2 chapters at 1 go alright? So please forgive me!
