A/N: I had too much fun with the songs in this chapter...

“Jaejoong!!!!” I yelled, sprinting to him.

“Yah!!!! What the hell?!!!! Let go of her!!!!!” Chillboong cried, stepping close.

Jaejoong aimed the knife at Chilboong, causing Chilboong to wince.

“Don’t Chillboong-ah!!!” Go-ara cried, pulling him back.

Fear submerged the whole room, taking everyone in its hostage.

Things were getting worse! How was I supposed to prove Jaejoong to be innocent if he was threatening people with knives? What the hell am I going to do? , , !

A mental force held down my legs, gluing them to the ground. Despite my wishes to stop Jaejoong, my fear hindered me.

“Jaejoong!!!” I cried.

Jaejoong looked at me, his fury lingering. Nothing could stop his madness, not even his own lover.

I bet he’s been craving for this moment to occur. Flesh squeezing against his hands, the adrenaline pumping through his veins, the vulnerability of everybody around him as he held the fate of Lee Mi Ran. Trust me, I’d felt this way too.

Despite my sympathy, I couldn’t turn him into a monster.

In the eyes of others, he was a suicidal freak. In my mind, in my heart he was Kim Jaejoong. An angel who saved me from my despair, the man that provided me happiness.

“Jaejoong-ah...do you remember why we came here?” Junsu asked, rising from his char.

My questioned caused heads to turn towards the lawyer.

“Yeah...what’s the reason why you brought this psychopath in this house?!!!!” Chilboong burst.

“Chilboong-ah!” Go-Ara cried, refraining Chilboong with her grip.

“We came here to prove your innocence, right?”

Jaejoong’s scowl melted, warping into something I couldn’t depict as he shifted his eyes back and forth.

“If you do this...if you continue to threaten the people around you, who’ll believe in you?”

“...”

“So drop the knife...and I’ll do the work, okay? I’ll get her to confess to her own sins...” Junsu said.

“Wait...what sin?” Go-Ara asked, letting go of Chillboong.

Oh god, how could we tell the sweet Go-Ara that her aunt was the descendant of a devil? Whatever, she needed to know how much pain her auntie had brought to Jaejoong and I. She needed to be aware of the fact.

“Your auntie...” I gulped. “She...helped...my father...with the fire...”

“Wh...what?!” Go-Ara shrieked.

“What...what are you saying Jung Yunho-ssi?” Chilboong asked, seeming confused.

“DON’T SAY IT!!!!!!!” Lee Mi Ran screamed, causing me to stumble back.

“YOU NEED TO KNOW THE TRUTH!!!” I yelled.

Like Jaejoong, I wanted to choke the out of that . My resentment drove my heart to beat in staggering beats, putting me in a risk of a heart attack.

“You don’t feel remorse for what you’ve done?!!!! You...you...you and my father...you blamed this all on Jaejoong!!! You planted this against him so you could separate us!!! Because of your prejudice...you...took away our happiness....Lee Mi Ran-ssi...how...do you even...live knowing that you did this to us?!!!” I screamed. My voice was so loud, even the heavens could hear.

“We...didn’t...do....it....on....purpose....” she grunted.

“What the do you mean?!!!! EVERYTHING YOU DID WAS PLANNED!!! CALCULATED!!!!!” I yelled.

“Yunho...” Junsu said, casting a look of worry.

“The...master....didn’t.....do.....it....on purpose...at first” she squealed.

“Jaejoong...let go of her...let go so we can know the truth!” Junsu ordered.

The knife slipped out of Jaejoong’s hand, along with Lee Mi Ran’s neck. He fell on his knees as if his world had ended. His hard, stoic expression lingered, refusing to leave his colorless face.

“What...what do you mean?!” I cried.

“It...was....all....an....accident....” she croaked.

“Wh...what?!!!!” I cried, unable to stomach her words. What nonsense was she spewing out?

“Yunho...record this,” Junsu said.

I pulled out my phone and launched the voice recording app, soon pressing the red button.

“What...an accident?” Go-Ara asked.

“He didn’t start the fire on purpose like all of you believe!!!” Lee Mi Ran shouted.

"..."

“Before...before the fire started...” she stuttered. “Jaejoong...and the master were involved in a fight...”

“What...what fight?” I croaked.

“...I heard...I heard it...from behind the master’s door when I was about to distribute his medicine...”

“...”

“It...it was about,” Lee Mi Ran paused, directing her gaze towards me. “It was about you and Jaejoong...”

“...”

“The master...he got pictures...he got some pictures...of you and Jaejoong...doing acts with each other...apparently...he hired someone to follow you and Jaejoong around...and I guess...the day of Jaejoong and his’s fight...the pictures were delivered to him...”

“...”

“So...so then...I heard a very loud thud on the ground...and...and I opened the door...and Jaejoong...he was unconscious...he was bleeding...and his face...oh! It was all bruised! It was such a bad sight!”

“What...what....what...happened.....after...wards....” Jaejoong asked, standing up from the ground.

“Why...why....was....I....in...that....chair...why....was....there....a....cigarette....in...my hand....”

“Because young one...you were the only one we could use! There was nobody else in that house besides young Changmin! But we couldn’t use Changmin, could we?!! We had to use you...and the Master hated you anyways...so WHY NOT?! It was also a perfect way to separate Jung Yunho and Kim Jaejoong!! So it was like killing two birds with one stone!!”

“So...you...used Jaejoong so...my abouji wouldn’t get the blame?! And so...that we wouldn’t be together?” I asked.

“Yes...if...he was made to be the suspect...business would go horribly for him!! His reputation would go down and he would be arrested for setting his own house on fire....” Lee Mi Ran replied.

“Then...drunk...how....was....I....drunk?” Jaejoong asked.

“We...we...poured whatever alcohol was left in your mouth...”

Jaejoong gasped.

“Then....then....the cigarette...how did the cigarette end up in his hand?” Junsu asked. “There’s no way that he smoked it. It would’ve burnt his whole hand...”

“We put it in his mouth...and lit the end of it...then we waited for it to burn....and then...we put it out...and put it in his hands....”

“Then...the receipt...and the suicide note?” I asked.

“I...stole...the Master’s receipt from his pockets!”

Junsu and I were right all along.

“Then...then how about the suicide note?!” I burst.

“I...forged...it...”

Every inch, every bone, ever muscle in my face grew rigid. Anger submerged me, scorching my lungs. The world trembled in front of me, shattering the misconceptions and the confusion I once had. Masks slipped off, unveiling the ugliness of cruelty and lies.

I couldn’t grasp the fact that they blamed their wrong-doings against Jaejoong, who had absolutely nothing to do with it. They used him as the last bait in order to save their own asses. Even though the fire was an accident, it was also intended to separate Jaejoong and I, which hurt the most.

“Auntie...you....did....all....that...?” Go-Ara stumbled, trembling.

Lee Mi Ran nodded.

Go-Ara sank to the ground, her eyes shifting back and forth, looking completely lost.

“Ara-yah...” Chillboong croaked, stooping to Ara’s level.

“Yunho...take her...” Junsu gritted.

“Wh...where?”  Go-Ara stammered.

“We’re taking her in for further questioning...”  Junsu said.

“I’ll take her,” I said, shoving the phone in my jean pockets.

“Omo....” Go-Ara muttered, shaking her head repeatedly. “I....can’t...believe....it...”

Chilboong hugged Ara, trying to relieve her. “You guys go, I’ll take care of Ara,” he said.

“Okay,” I replied.

“Let go of me!!!!” Lee Mi Ran protested as I gripped her wrist.

“Shut up!!!” I yelled. “You did all this!!!!”

“I’ll walk myself!!!!!” she yelled, jerking her arm away.

“No...I don’t trust you!!!” I cried, linking my arm with hers. “Junsu, get Jaejoong.”

“On to it,” Junsu replied from behind. “Get up Jaejoong-hyung.”

I lead Lee Mi Ran’s bony-self to the door, dragging her towards the car. My hold of her tightened, worried about the possibility of her running off at night.

Her objections died down as she kept her arms still. I latched onto the car handle, openi

Chapter 52: why do we become masochist?? i seriously love angsty ff... but i usually don't like when there is a cheating(yunho to chae won) and using others for to let out your frustration(yh and jooyeon) or heartache(jj and jicheol)... i felt a bit repulse reading it but the way you depict their emotions and reasoning for each situation make me understand the characters actions in more depth..at the end of it... i don't mind it coz FINALLY JJ GOT HIS BEAUTIFUL ENDING WITH YUNHO... yeah i'm kind of idealist even though i know in reality it is hard to see justice to prevail and true love to be together for a lifetime.... author-nim... thank you for writing this wonderful story as you know sometimes the angsty ff is too much bear like the dark night, the water gleamed under the moon...i actually read the first few chapters and the ending chapter really shook me to my core...

Chapter 52: I gave so much to say but dont know where to start so I'm just gonna wing it....first, it's either the fact that the boys went/going through military service that you typed soldier instead of shoulder or you made typos on purpose to see if we are actually reading your fic. Lol Second, hmm kinda not the ending that I was expecting but I don't hate it not do I like it as much as I loved the other previous chapters you wrote. Third, I was also looking forward on Jae's web novels, they are fun to read. Fourth, kinda wishes there was a trial scene or some sort. Five, I like some parts of the original ending, like Yun running to Jj. Save for the part where it's his wedding day(or is getting marred) with chae won and that they both die. Dude, yes! You got that right, they went through so much already, especially Jj. It's like the angst monster puked at him or smth. And Lastly, I'd you are editing the entire fic, please don't hide the chapters because some of us actually likes the story and plans to re-read it when we feel like we want to be all depressed and wants to have a crying fest!! This fic is BAE. O. K. A. Y?

Chapter 29: I've been reading this fic for these 2-3 days.. I really love the way you depict the story.. everything so real, so vivid, and it's very easy to imagine what happens and how the characters think and feel
Your depiction of the characters is really good!
My heart just aches alongwith Jaejoong's.. how such innocent and shy guy who experienced so much misfortune in his life.. *sigh*
It's sad how life is for him..
lol I'm supposed to be studying for my exams and finishing up my thesis and journal but I keep coming back to this fic haha!
(well I really should be studying right now but reading this fic is a way for me to de-stress hehe)
but my point is, this fic is really good! addictive in a way haha that I want to keep reading and know what happens to jaejoong..
two thumbs up for you!
will probably finish this in a couple of days :P
thank you soooo much for sharing! thank you thank you thank you!!

Chapter 52: "But Yunho’s determination and desperation won Jaejoong’s heart. Jaejoong didn’t need a perfect man. He needed a man who loved him, and Yunho was the perfect candidate. Despite his rough, reckless nature, Jaejoong loved Yunho for his thorns. Even if it pained him, or caused blood to shed, Jung Yunho was the one."

hi, i'm here again \o/ ^my fav paragraph

instead of studying for my paper tmr, i ended up reading this on my phone and bawling my eyes out. you make my heart raced, jumped, sank, and any related adjectives.

the perfect way to describe this story from my perspective would be "crash and burn". there were lotsa of panicking, possessiveness, guilt, self loathe, but most importantly, you showed how both of em truly loved each other. how strong the affections were as if the bond had embedded into their bones.

thank you.
