007 - Don't Try The Pie

Spring Awakening

No one knew about the kiss. It was like a dirty secret only they knew about and Ten liked it. Mostly because he didn't want the attention, he didn't want gossip to fly around. It was just one kiss and Ten didnt want people thinking they were dating. They weren't. Ten wasn't going to lower his standards to someone like Johnny. Ten knew better.

But Johnny had other ideas. Johnny wanted Ten and no matter how much resistance the other put up, Johnny was going to make him crack. He just had to figure out how to do that.

"Ten." Johnny quickly grabbed on to Ten's wrist just as the younger was about to make his escape after rehearsals. "Are you working tonight?"

"Yeah, until seven."

"Okay.. What about tomorrow?"

"Again, until seven."

Johnny cussed under his breath, the cogs working quickly in his mind. "What about Saturday?"

"I've got this street party thing to go to. I didn't want to buy my mom's making a big deal out of it."

"Ah, okay. Don't worry then." Johnny could take a hint. Ten just wasn't interested. He gave a small nod as he slid past the younger, mentally kicking himself. He'd probably any chance of any sort of relationship with Ten.

Ten stepped forward, fingers holding on to Johnny's sleeve to stop him. "You can come along, if you want. It's probably going to be really boring but there's food and music and there's always a water fight that breaks out. There'll be a few people our age but its mostly old people and ten year olds."

Johnny smiled, "Yeah, sounds good. What time?"

***

Johnny had never been to a street party before, he didn't know what to expect. His hopes were high, however. He dressed himself in a simple blue baseball shirt and matching jeans, wondering if he should bring a jacket. It was still fairly warm outside, if it rained, he could handle it. He wandered through the streets, following the directions from his phone towards his destination. There was quit a distance between him and Ten's house, he'd never been in this area before.

He could hear the sounds of music and laughter coming from the street over and he knew that he was on the right path. As he turned the corner, he could see the pitched gazebos and adults walking around with trays of food, running around in summer clothes. There was an elderly man attempting to plug in an iPod speaker to about twenty extension cords, struggling until a younger man came to offer assistance. A couple of kids had found water guns, already soaking each other, much to the dismay of their watching mothers. It was like a scene out of a fairytale, he could only marvel it.

Then Ten appeared, clutching a tray of something covered in foil, following a woman only slightly shorter than him. Smiling to himself, he headed towards the boy, stopping just behind him, tapping him on the shoulder. Ten spun round, a small yet bright smile forming on his lips at the sight of the taller.

"You're here! Get lost?"

"Yeah, went down an alleyway, got mugged and left for dead. Really tragic."

Ten slapped his arm lightly, "Very funny."

The street party got under way, the music finally hooked up (with no thanks to the old gentleman), the food was served and of course, the water fight begun. The children ran up and down the street, spraying everything and everyone that crossed their paths. Ten and Johnny, however, opted out, taking a seat at the far end, away from the screaming and the laughing.

"What is that anyway? It looks gross." Ten leant across, staring at the small circular pastry, covered in something that looked less than appetising.

"I think she said it was quiche but... I don't even know what quiche is." Johnny poked at it, wrinkling his nose in disgust. He didn't even want to take it, it was highly recommended by the elderly woman who wouldn't take no for an answer.

"She's a nice woman but I wouldn't eat anything she gives you. She likes to experiment with her food. When we first moved, she came to our door with a banana pie. It was nice, the crust was perfect but I didn't really care for the gherkins inside."

Johnny couldn't help but laugh, causing Ten to crack a few chuckles as well. It was nice that they could joke around and be comfortable. Ten wasn't really sure when he stopped hating Johnny's guts but he definitely glad the tension had eased up and passed, that they could talk freely like this.

"Mhm, I can imagine." Johnny trailed off, his eyes, sliding across the gathered guests of the party, lips in a small smile as he watched them hurry around with food, conversing with smiles on their faces. He envied Ten, living in this kind of neighbourhood. He wished he could experience this kind of thing. He didn't live in a particularly nice area and he neighbours would be less than thrilled if anyone suggested a street party like this.

His thoughts were interrupted as he felt a cold shock down the back of his neck, sliding down his spine quickly, soaking his shirt. He gasped, head spinning round to see two young boys holding water guns, cheeky grins spread across their faces. Ten was just as shocked and soaked, except he was laughing along with them. Another shot of water came, hitting Johnny square in the chest. He couldn't help but laugh as the boys continued to waste their water on them, completely drenching them. Before Johnny knew it, Ten had grabbed his hand, tugging him up and away from the yelling children, away from the chatting adults, away from the street party.

Ten pulled the elder inside his house, knowing it would be the only safe place. He still had ahold of Johnny's wrist as he pulled him upstairs, heading straight for his room. Tugging him inside, Ten closed the door, hands flat against it as he breathed heavily, slowly turning to look at Johnny. . Johnny was in his room. They were both panting, both soaking wet, Johnny's fringe sticking to his face, little droplets sliding down his creamy skin. They were silent, staring at each other, falling into each other's gazes.

Johnny made the first more. He kicked himself into gear, striding forward toward Ten. His hands cupped the youngers cheeks, backing him up against the door, lips attaching firmly to his. Ten didn't fight it, his hands settling on Johnny's waist, lips pressing back. The kiss was needy and rough, the sweetness from their previous kiss nowhere to be found. It was messy as the passion heightened with every second, melting into each other as they kissed quickly.

His hand slid down to Ten's hips, gripping them as their bodies pressed tight together, Ten's arms now around his neck. Johnny's tongue slid across Ten's lips, silently wanting access and Ten obliged, lips parting, their tongues meeting. His body felt like it was on fire, the way Johnny was touching him igniting his veins, his heart beginning to pound loudly in his ears. Johnny tugged him closer still, wanting to feel every part of Ten against, wanting to hold on to him as if his life depended on it.

Seconds, minutes flew past, the pair locked in each other's embrace, gradually losing oxygen. It was Johnny who broke the kiss, his nose bumping faintly along Ten's, his eyes remaining shut. The only sound in the air was the heavy breathing and the very faint ticking of the clock lop-sided on the wall behind them. Ten's hands slid slowly Johnny's chest, eventually opening his eyes, looking up at the elder. Their eyes met once more, and that's when they felt it.

The electric. It was as if someone has connected them to an open circuit, a thousand watts of power surging through them as they looked at each other, hearts pounding, skin tingling, throats drying. Neither of them had felt something like this before and it was incredible. Johnny's grip tightened on the younger's waist, pulling him closer, not wanting to break the moment. It was comfortable and sweet, something both of them wanted to remember for a long time.

"Ammo." Ten's voice was soft, weak as his hoarse throat was keeping him from being any bolder. He cleared it, nodding as he smiled sweetly. "We need ammo." They broke apart, Ten quickly diving into his drawer, grabbing a pack of Happy Birthday balloons he had left over from his dad's 45th before tugging Johnny out of the room, the pair laughing at their sudden advantage in the water fight.

Chapter 3: Interestinggg
[insert thinking emoji here]
I really like the live-hate dynamic that JohnTen has right now. It’s amusing and intriguing. It makes me wonder how these two will like each other, let alone fall for each other, with this kind of initial attitude towards one another

Time to read more~
