“This is not happening…” Dara silently hypnotised herself... and once again failed as she couldn’t deny that she had brought him home with her.

FLASHBACK:

She had intended to lock up shop and immediately return home but remembering GD; she had asked him where his home was and he had replied that he didn’t know what that meant.

“It’s a warm place where you belong. It becomes a piece of you. It’s a place that you can call your own.” She explained and frowned at his reply.

“I’ve never heard of such a place.” GD said. “I was located in numerous containers but they were never mine.” Without words and with a wounded heart; she grabbed his hand and led him to a place she promised he could call his.

END OF FLASHBACK.

“Sorry Mum and Dad.” Dara whispered as she keyed in the code to her apartment.

“Come on GD…” She lightly pushed the door open and gestured with her right arm for him to enter. “It’s not much but it’s mine…” she sighed with contempt and gave him a nervous smile as she continued “… and yours too. For as long as you need.” She grasped his hand and gently tugged him inside, closing the door with a flick of her foot.

“Home sweet home!” Dara said in pure bliss as she raised his hand with hers in the air. Shaking his hands in excitement she looked at her one roomed apartment with pride.

She saw crème colour blinds, white couches; smothered in colourful cushions and a beautiful marble bench kitchen island.

He saw two windows that could act as an escape route. Sufficient materials to burn this apartment down if needs be and her knives sets placed beside the microwave. “They seem blunt but with the right amount of pressure I can get the result I need.” he thought. She gave his hand a tiny squeeze before she walked away from him and disappeared through a room and after a moment returned carrying a pillow and a blanket.

“I only have one room so you’ll have to sleep on the couch. I hope you’ll find it comfortable, if it becomes too uncomfortable my rooms over there - she gestured to the door she had entered- come in and tell me and we can swap. Okay?”  

Dara explained as she attempted to transform the couch into a bed. Handing him some clothes she instructed GD to have a shower and change. She hoped they would fit. They had stopped at a restaurant to grab dinner before arrivi
