Kris can't remember the last time he had slept peacefully, or had a nap for that matter.
He literally was sleeping on his feet for days now, caffeine was infused in his blood from drinking too much coffee.
He was too tired.
For everything.
The time even came when he even had to force the bland hospital food down his throat just to have something to nourish his tired body.
He had even considered hooking himself up on IV dextrose just to prevent his body from totally breaking down.
But, that was just a thought.
He really couldn't do that, he might as well admit himself to the hospital and be one of the patients there.
He needed a break, but he really couldn't leave now because the hospital is in chaos, all the doctors, nurses and the hospital staffs were on edge, patients kept coming and the number of emergency cases was rising.
He'd love to escape for one day and sleep, but he can't.
His conscience is preventing him from walking away.
He must save lives.
That was part of his oath.
Part of the profession.
So, though he felt like giving up, he pushed himself to fight, to hold on still.
What surprises him though was he was still standing on his feet after those sleepless nights, hectic days, and endless headaches.
He sighed, absentmindedly walking down the hospital hall, his stethoscope hanging around his neck, his white coat still looking pristine even after a stressful day.
Kris glanced at his wristwatch, 12:06 AM.
He sighed, "A good night's sleep will feel heaven right now.."
*Beep*
He received a text.
"Doc. Wu, made it on time! Go home and get some rest. I'm sure someone misses you dearly.-Dr. Park."
Kris literally wanted to make a whoop and dash out of the hospital.
And he did.
His tiredness gone, the yearning for sleep second in his mind.
A wide grin was plast
