Foreword
“Tiffany Hwang, you are now under arrest for the murder of Choi Minho. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law. You have the right to an attorney; if you can't afford one then one will be provided for you. Do you understand each of these, rights?” The officer in charge handcuffed Tiffany's wrists, “I repeat, do you understand?” The officer asked, more forcefully this time.
Tiffany was confused and scared. She was on her way home after watching a movie with some friends when she heard sirens blaring and before she knew what was happening, she was surrounded by dozens of police cars with their brightly blinking red and blue lights. The policemen got out of their vehicles and drew their guns, “Don’t move!” They yelled, “Put your hands up and lean against this vehicle!” The one in charge commanded. After patting her down, he read her her miranda rights. Tiffany could feel herself panicking; blackness was threatening to overcome her. She nodded meekly, confirming that she understood what the police officer was saying.
The policeman guided her towards the backseat of his vehicle while the gawking citizens of Seoul Korea watched with interests, “Yes.” They were thinking, “Seoul’s finest have done their jobs again. Another criminal off the streets.”
Tiffany choked back her sobs, trying to make senses of what was happening and then the officer’s words came back to her. Murder? Choi Minho? Who the hell was he?!
