I scrolled down the screen until it reached at the bottom of the mail. With a heart that was beating out of control, I tapped on the last mail. As soon as it was opened, I was stunned.

It was him.

It was really him.

His face, his information, how he died it was all stated there. A pang of pain mixed with sadness hit me. I felt like the Heaven was collapsing on me.

Why?

Why now?

My stomach was doing somersaults with nerves. Suddenly tears were flowing down my cheek as the unanswered questions were popping out in my head. Then I heard a cough behind me. I tried to suppress my tears but to no avail I cried more.

“What are you looking at?”

I didn’t answer him. Looked like he wasn’t noticed I was crying. I quickly wiped my tears with my sleeve. He suddenly peeked at my screen.

“Oh wow! I didn’t expect he was our last mission. Well, he got a good soul. Don’t worry, I will take care of his soul well.” 1606's eyes were fixed on the screen as he read the information of the last soul. His lips were mumbling incoherently about what was written there.

While on the other hand I was horrified of the ‘I will take care of his soul well’ coming out from 1606’s mouth.

I don’t want him to die.

“You can’t...” I muttered under my breath.

He turned his head at me and noticed there was a stain of tears on my cheek. “What do you mean by I can’t?”

“No... You can’t reap his soul.”

He scoffed when he heard it as his face was flamed with anger.

“Huh? And why is that? It is my job. I am a━”

“Because I love him!!”

There, I said it. The words I was denying all this time tumbled out from my lips. 1606 was taken aback. I lifted my eyes bravely to meet his. However my eyes were b again.

1606 was about to say something but he quickly stopped as I was already bawling my eyes out hysterically.

Live and then Die.

Every human will go through that phase.

Heaven and Hell.

Once they are dead, they will be judged by the Creator. Good souls will go to Heaven and will be given all kind of pleasure. The bad ones will go to Hell to be punished for their sins.

Angel.

They give happiness, pleasure, joy, fortune and bring good news to the human race.

Devil.

They whisper lust, greediness, hatred, anger and other bad morale to the human.

Soul Reaper.

They take human’s life and I’m one of them.
