Cycle 24

It’s going to be his first day at work and Yoongi is running late. He’s sitting on a bench waiting for the train. He’s occasionally turning his head left and right, looking for any sign of the train. Yoongi sighs dejectedly. He starts tapping his fingers on his knee, a habit he picks up whenever he feels restless. He digs into the pocket of his pants to take out an USB drive and plays with it mindlessly.

“Come on” he mutters.

As if the sky heard his prayer, the train comes into view. Yoongi stands up. The grip on his USB drive tightens as he slightly bounces on his feet. When the door of the train opens, a bunch of young teenagers comes out from the train, all carrying bags. Ah, right, summer break, Yoongi thinks.

When the last teen exits the train, the people around him make their way onto the train, including Yoongi. He swiftly puts the USB drive in his pocket. It’s crowded and he hates this morning even more. As if it isn’t enough to irritate Yoongi, a boy accidentally bumps into him.

“Oh, I’m sorry.” Yoongi hears the boy says. He simply waves his hand, dismissing the boy.

When he’s finally inside the train, he looks around for a seat and spots an empty seat not far from him. He’s about to walk to the seat when he feels someone tugs on his shirt rather strongly. He turns around and it’s the boy who bumped into him earlier. He frowns at the boy.

“I kept calling for you but I guess it didn’t catch your attention,” the boy then raises his hand “here, you dropped this earlier.”

Yoongi looks down to the boy’s hand and sees a familiar USB drive on the boy’s palm. He instantly pats his pockets. Surely, it isn’t there. Yep, definitely mine, he thinks. He looks up at the boy.

“Thanks, that’s mine actually” Yoongi says as he then proceeds to scratch the nape his neck sheepishly, embarrassed at his own clumsiness.

“I-it’s fine” the boy stutters.

The beeping of the train seems to bring their attention back. The boy moves away from the train and quickly takes Yoongi hand and places the USB drive in it. The moment their skins make contact, Yoongi feels a warm sensation coiling in his stomach and on his wrist; on his soulmate mark to be specific. It seems like the boy feels the same thing because he looks at Yoongi with surprise on his face.

Yoongi is about to say something but The Stars isn’t on his side this time as the doors start to close. Both males quickly pull their hands away. Breathing starts to get difficult when he released the boy’s hand. The train starts to move and all Yoongi can do is watch the boy silently. His heart sinks when the boy is no longer in his sight.

“Jeon Jungkook” he mutters longingly.

a/n: hello, I have few things to tell you. It could be good news or it could be bad news. It all depends on how you take it.

First thing is, for those who has been waiting for a happy ending chapter, I am happy to tell that I am slowly letting myself to actually write a happy ending story. This particular chapter is my first attempt, if you haven't noticed. Yoongi and Jungkook are indeed soulmates!

Secondly, there is a big possibility that I might not be able to update this story for the next few weeks.
