Introduction

I should’ve thought about writing an introduction before even starting this whole soulmate au drabbles. Truthfully, I didn’t actually think that anyone would question what I wrote. Hah, how silly of me. I am no master of this whole soulmate au but I’ll try my best to explain this whole soulmate au from my perspective.

I’ll probably mess up the actual soulmate au so I’m sorry if it offends anyone. Basically, this is how my soulmate au going to work:

soulmate mark – a name that will appear on their wrist once they turn 18. A soulmate mark does not restrained by any condition or anything at all. It could be anyone; their friend, their teacher, their nephew, someone they haven’t met or even someone who has not turn 18 yet. This however may lead to broken soulmate.

soulmates – two persons or more that have each other’s name on their wrists.

The Stars – A reference used to define the ones that ‘arrage’ this whole soulmate deal.

“The Stars couldn’t be wrong. We are meant for each other”

“We are not soulmates! You want to defy The Stars?! Are you crazy?! It wouldn’t work! WE wouldn’t work!”

broken soulmate – A reference or a term used when there’s a fault in a soulmate pairing. Here are some terms or references included in broken soulmate:

Lone soul – A term used to refer a person who does not have any soulmate mark even after they have turned 18.

Mismatch – A term used to define a situation where their soulmate does not have a soulmate mark or have a soulmate mark but not theirs name.

Mismatched – a term used to refer a person with a mismatch soulmate print.

Situation 1: Person A has a soulmate mark of Person B’s name but Person B does not have a soulmate mark. They are a mismatch. Person A is referred as a mismatched but Person B is referred as a lone soul.

Situation 2: Person A has a soulmate mark of Person B’s name but Person B has a soulmate mark of Person C’s name and Person C has Person B’s name a soulmate mark. Person A and Person B are a mismatch but only Person A is referred as mismatched because Person B and Person C are referred as soulmates.

Alternative situation 2: Same condition as in situation 2 but let’s say Person C has someone else’s name as soulmate mark or does not have a soulmate mark at all. Person A, B and C are all mismatch and also referred as mismatched.

Situation 3: Person A has a soulmate mark of Person B’s name but Person B does not have a soulmate mark as Person B has not turn 18 yet. This however is not a mismatch. They just have to wait until Person B turns 18 and see what The Stars have planned for them.

For someone whose soulmate has died, a line will appear on their soulmate's name on their wrist, crossing the name.

Now about soulmates, when soulmates first met, they both would feel some sort of comforting warm sensation on their wrists. Some would even feel the sensation in their stomach and chest. When soulmates first made skin contact, the warm sensation on their soulmate marks is a lot stronger, indicating that the bond is sealed. Soulmates’ feelings and emotions are intense. With that being said, the pain that they feel if they lost their soulmate would be intense too. If a soulmate decides to defy The Stars (by loving or involving in ual with someone else), they shall feel slight burn or sting on their soulmate mark.

Lone soul. Being a lone does not mean they can’t feel attraction or even fall in love. A lone soul just doesn’t feel the love as strong as soulmates but that does not mean a lone soul’s love is any less worthy. Love is love; it isn’t a competition of who can love more.
