CHAPTER 30
Lord of Darkness Part II
Jaejoong's experience with mages taught him several things. They rarely fight face to face. They preferred to attack from a distance or from behind, and their attack may be powerful, but they always needed a few seconds before they could attack again. Even the regents of Haldor, known to be the most powerful of all the mages, needed some rest period.
And mages never really developed strong muscles or resistance since all their energy automatically went to their magic. One punch could send a powerful mage to sleep.
And since Jaejoong's left hand was encased by wind, it literally swept Snob off his feet before he crumbled into a heap on the cave floor. Eyes and Shy attacked simultaneously. Jaejoong somersaulted to avoid those attacks. After landing on his feet, he immediately ran toward Eyes. He only had a few more seconds before the young mage could once again use magic against him.
Eyes' magic came in the form of small energy projectiles that could drill a hole into anything. The cavern walls were littered with holes from just his first attack.
Jaejoong jumped, pivoted in midair and delivered a powerful turning side kick to Eyes' midsection. The young mage's eyes bulged, his mouth gasped for air, but before he could raise his head to look at Jaejoong, he gave him a punch to his jaw rendering him unconscious and probably breaking his jaw too.
"One more left!" announced Cloud like some referee in a competition.
Jaejoong faced the last mage. Shy held his hands outstretched toward Jaejoong's direction. He was mumbling the beginning of some spell, but he couldn't seem to get it right. Mages had different ways of summoning their powers. The powerful ones used their minds to summon their powers, the next level either used a talisman or some kind of hand gestures, the lowest ranked mumble words to create spells to use their magic.
