Chapter 3

A Chance Encounter

The Last Day of High School…

“Go back to Beijing! No one likes you!” the boy screamed.

“I wish I could,” I held my ribs in pain.

“Idiot!” the boy kicked me once again.

A crowd had gathered and I began to see spots. My vision darkened. It was the last day. I dropped my head to the ground and I could hear someone screaming my name. I out.

When I woke up I was in the hospital. I looked around and saw a sleeping form on the couch. I tried to sit up, but the pain was too much.

“Don’t try to sit up. Let me help,” the figure from the couch got up and moved my bed up into a sitting position.

I flung my arms around the form and started to cry.

    “Han,” I sobbed.

“Hua, I’m here finally. I’m sorry I couldn’t come earlier. I couldn’t stop those boys. I’m so sorry,” Han pulled me in for a kiss.

“Since you’re kissing my daughter I assume you’re Lu Han?” my father came in.

    “Y-Yes sir,” Han bowed.

He was scared. My father has that effect on people. I started to laugh. Han looked at me.

“Appa! Dial down the charisma,” I tried to stop laughing.

“Sorry, it’s fun to scare your friends,” Appa laughed.

“Annyeonghaseyo Mr. Li,” Han smiled and bowed.

“Hello Han,” Appa smiled and hugged him.

Han looked at me. I smiled and Appa stopped hugging him.

“Thank you for making my baby happy,” Appa smiled.

“She made me happy sir. I don’t know what I would’ve done if I hadn’t met her,” Han smiled.

“He’s a keeper,” Appa smiled and Eomma came in.

“Eomma!” I smiled and she hugged me.

“They said that you can go home after an hour has passed and everything is fine,” Eomma smiled.

“Okay. Quick question Hannie?” I looked at Han.

“Hmm?” Han sat fiddling with my fingers.

“When did you get here exactly?” I looked at him.

“Right when I found you. I was heading to my dorm,” Han pointed to his luggage in the corner.

I started to laugh and he smiled.

“Why didn’t you take your stuff to your dorm and then come back?” I looked at him.

“I wanted to be here when you woke up,” Han smiled and yawned.

“He hasn’t left your side since you were put in this room,” Eomma smiled.

“Really?” I looked at Han with wide eyes.

“Yep, no food, bathroom, and I tried not to sleep,” Han laughed.

“You should’ve ate,” I smiled at him.

“Not hungry. They put me on a diet so I have to watch what I eat and I couldn’t find anything on the menu that I could eat,” Han smiled.

    “They?” I looked at him.

“I’m a trainee at SM Entertainment,” Han smiled.

“What?!” I looked at him in amazement.

“Hey Hua sweetie aren’t you-” I cut my mom off.

“Is she what?” Han looked at my mom.

“Nothing. I was wrong,” My mom smiled and I sent her a thankful look.

“Noona!” a boy about my age came in.

“Taeminnie! What have I said about barging into rooms?!” Onew came in.

    “Sorry Hua,” Key smiled.

“It’s okay. Taeminnie!” I smiled and hugged Taemin.

“I see how it is,” Jonghyun teased.

    “Shush you,” I laughed.

“Noona? Who is this?” Taemin looked at Han.

“Lu Han, my boyfriend,” I smiled and Han smiled at them.

“Aren’t you a trainee?” Onew looked at him.

“Yes hyung,” Han smiled and fiddled with my fingers again.

“You and my finger seriously,” I laughed and he looked at me.

“Hey, I haven’t held your hand for a year. I think I deserve to mess with it,” Han stuck his tongue out.

“I guess so,” I sighed and looked at him.

I stuck out my tongue and he just laughed.

“You two are cute,” Onew smiled.

“Y-Yah Oppa!” I scratched the back of my head in embarrassment.

“Yah what? It’s true,” Key smiled.

“You guys,” I blushed even harder.

“Noona is a tomato!” Taemin teased.

    “Taeminnie!” I looked at him.

    Taemin laughed evilly.

    “I’m telling Jongin!” I smiled.

“Telling me what? Han hyung?!” Jongin came in.

“Hey,” Han smiled and I pulled him closer.

“Hey hyung,” Jongin smiled and pulled Taemin off the bed.

“Jonginnie! I was comfortable,” Taemin whined.

“So, SM is looking for you all. Including you Han Hyung,” Jongin looked at Han.

“Okay,” Han got up and Jongin got his stuff.

“I’ll see you tomorrow okay?” Han kissed me and smiled.

“Okay,” I smiled and looked at everyone.

“Bye guys,” I smiled and waved.

“Mrs. Li? You are discharged now. You can return to practicing,” the doctor smiled.

“Thank you,” I smiled and got up.

“Noona come back with us!” Taemin smiled.

I looked over at my parents.

“Let me get changed,” I smiled and went into the bathroom.

“Hua, here. Your clothes have blood on them,” Han handed me a pair of my old pants and shirt.

“I can’t believe I left these at Xiu’s,” I smiled and kissed Han on the cheek.

“Neither can I. You wore these almost every practice for the musical,” Han laughed and I stuck my tongue out and then ran into the bathroom.

I quickly changed and walked out to everyone smiling.

“Noona! You look good in that!” Taemin smiled.

“Yah! Mine,” Han smiled and hugged me.

“I know. I know. I have Jonginnie anyways,” Taemin whispered that last part.

“Taemin care to share what you just said?” Key looked at Taemin.

    “Um…..,” Taemin looked at Jongin.

Jongin smiled and him and Taemin smiled brightly.

“I have Jonginnie anyways~,” Taemin pulled Jongin closer and kissed his cheek.

“KIM JONGIN! IF YOU TOUCHED MY BABY IN ANYWAY YOU’RE DEAD!” Key yelled and tried to attack Jongin.

I quickly stepped in between Jongin and Key.

    “Kibum calm down,” I smiled.

“Fine, but I swear if he touches my baby I will kill him,” Key huffed.

“It’s okay baby,” Jonghyun smiled and looked at Jongin.

“Just don’t hurt him,” Jonghyun glared.

“Yes sir!” Jongin backed behind Taemin nervously.

“Stop scaring him hyungs!” Taemin glared at Key and Jonghyun.

“Okay,” Key and Jonghyun quickly agreed.

Angry Taemin was scary. Very scary. Taemin smiled and walked out of the room hand in hand with Jongin.

“Make sure you go to your dorm right after okay?” Eomma smiled and hugged me.

“I will,” I smiled and said my goodbyes.

“Why didn’t you tell me you were a trainee?” Han looked at me after we got in the van.

“I know you wanted to be one so I didn’t want to tell you until you were accepted,” I smiled.

“I was accepted right after you left. I trained mostly in Beijing,” Han smiled.

“Oh, so you wanted me to tell you, but you didn’t tell me?” I teased.

“Hey our reasons for not telling the same,” Han laughed.

“Okay. So how did you know Jongin?” I looked over at him.

“Skype. He’s going to be in my group. I had to skype with everyone to get to know them before I came so it wouldn’t be that awkward,” Han laughed.

“Xiumin hyung can’t wait to meet you face to face. I’ll drop your stuff off in the dorm so you can go ahead and head to the practice room,” Jongin smiled and got out of the van with Han’s stuff.

“I see you still have my necklace,” Han smiled.

“I never take it off. Not even for practice,” I smiled and touched it.

“Same here. Except my goes under my shirt sometimes,” Han laughed and pulled his necklace out.

“Cute!” Key smiled.

“Kibum!” I blushed really hard.

“What?” Key looked at me.

“You’re gushing over them,” Jonghyun laughed.

“Hey by the way Hua usually talks about him I think I’m allowed to,” Key argued.

“Just dial it down a little bit,” I smiled.
