2. Kimishika (Only you)
KimishikaDongwoon sure thought that once in Japan, he would experience something so cool, live a perfect life where his rice cooker won't be broken after two weeks, where the japanese ahjumma from next door won't bother him at night because of her snores – why was she so loud? Was it even possible? He had a lot of good resolutions for this life living alone and being a responsible adult but it was more difficult than he thought; and he was way more chidlish than he thought too because his flat was so untidy and there was nobody to yell at him to do the laundry and the dishes. He had benefited of this liberty at first.
Fortunatly, he already made a friend at the university: Yoseob was one year older than him and in the same korean-japanese class. He lived in Japan since his childhood even being a korean, because his parents were so in love with the country. Therefore he was at ease with the two languages and because he was lazy too, he had chosen to use his facility in foreign languages. He was a cheerful, playfull and mocking guy who really liked to use his angel face to have what he wanted from other – but anyone could give him heaven's keys without confession. Dongwoon knew his real personnality since almost the beginning when he saw him hide a smile after receving a free cookie from girls in their class. They had sympathized because Yoseob took a linking in his formal japanese and his uneasiness, being easy for him to tease the younger and have fun – reason for what he lived. Dongwoon often wondered why he was lucky to have this hyung and became sentimental but soon Yoseob laughed of him because he has once again messed his vocabulary or tripped over nothing on the street. But you couldn't be angry at him, seriously. And even if you were, Yoseob's abs and ing punches dissuaded right away – Dongwoon wouldn't mess up with him.
Even with this new life, new country and new best friend, Dongwoon was too lazy to go out and most of the time, in his first weeks, he stayed at his flat. Which wasn't for Yoseob's liking, who came one day with his vacuum cleaner and a tight white shirt in his backpack – Dongwoon didn't undersand the logic because Yoseob was already dressed with ing tight jean which gave credit to his beautiful legs and , did he want to kill everyone in Tokyo's streets? And why a vacuum seriously?
“You can't live like that if you're my korean bestfriend, Dongwoon.”
“That's why you bringed this vacuum? To sap me with it and throw me in the river, then with the second shirt you can change because the one you're currently wearing would be full of my blood, not to be suspicious? I didn't come to Japan to die so young! And, hyung, a tight pant like yours isn't a good idea if you want to fight. Although, you're so hot with this outfit that your opponent can be dumbfounded enough for you to knock him down.”
“I know I'm hot and strong but you're too weird for your own good, Woonie. We'll clean your flat and then go out!”
“You're not my mom~” Dongwoon whined and rolled on his couch like a child.
He really didn't want to tidy up all of his things – he lived well anyway.
“Where are your good resolutions you told me during the first coffee we took together? Nothing special happened since you're here and it has been three weeks already.”
Yoseob took a little silence and then exclamed:
“Well, I know being my best buddy is the best thing that happened in your life since you're born, no need to point at it, I know you love me so much. But you know how much I am so kind and caring and just so perefect with my friends and I only want your happiness and...”
“And you're so full of yourself I wonder how I do to support you,” Dongwoon whispered, rolling his eyes.
“But, Dongwoon,” Yoseob continued without listening to his friend, “it's IMPOSSIBLE for you to live in that mess and your mom would be so sad if you don't return with a girlfriend in your pocket.”
Dongwoon grumbled something Yoseob didn't catch, and the older suddenly clapped his hands together.
“NOW CLEAN!”
And without even knowing how Yoseob managed, Dongwoon cleaned his little flat in less than one hour while his hyung was watching the television – Yoseob even dared to shout at him when he was blocking the view if he picked things from the flour in front of him. While the dishes dried and the laundry waited in a basket to be put to the coin-operated laundry, Yoseob pushed Dongwoon in the shower and then handed him the shirt he had taken with him, commenting on how hot Dongwoon's body was even if he was still hotter because he was his hyung – despite Dongwoon's groan that Yoseob had no intimacy to enter the bathroom while he was still and WET. After more shouts, they were finally outside and the sunshine was nice on their skin.
“What's today's program then, hyung?”
“Enjoying the japanese air for you, letting the world admire my handsomness for me. Oh, and having some girls numbers at the end of the day for you. Such a pity you're still alone, Woonie.”
Dongwoon grumbled again while hearing “girls numbers”, and that time Yoseob asked:
“What did you say?”
“You're single too, hyung!” Dongwoon replied, folding his arms and pouting. “Try to find someone for you, I'm fine you know.”
“You don't understand, Woonie,” Yoseob smiled like he talked with a child. “If I'm with someone, what do you think people would do? They would be so sad that I can't love them anymore, and I can't stand tears, it breaks my heart. I don't have the right to be selfish. It's not that I'm single, it's that I'm everyone's, as simple as that,” he ended proudly.
“... whatever,” Dongwoon sighed.
Yoseob continued blabbering while Dongwoon concentrated more on his surrounding. Japan wasn't that different from Korea – each huge asian town looked similar – but he was still amazed of the other language, other dishes, advertising, and so on. He liked the differencies and the melody of japanese in the streets.
They were waiting for the pedestrian crossing to be green, Yoseob still doing a mono-conversation he liked to hold and managed well, when Dongwoon's stare stopped on a man standing at the other end of the gateway. He had nice black hair styled like a bowl with curly bangs on his forehead. His plump lips looked so delicious to devour, moving with what Dongwoon presumed were the lyrics he was listening to because he had earphones. He was wearing a hoodie with a ripped blue jean and snickers, but he still looked cute because he had huge black speck who expanded his eyes. Dongwoon froze and he thought he couldn't stand so much beauty when the unknown guy suddenly raised his head and met Dongwoon's eyes. He didn't look elsewhere and just stared at Dongwoon too for what seemed like eternity. Dongwoon didn't know what to think and even Yoseob's words couldn't bring him back to reality. He was literaly melting on the pavement and the last bullet for his poor heart beating badly was when the other smiled, showing his wide teeth; his eyes disappeared in two black moon crescents. He thought he noticed a blush on his cheeks but then their contemplation ended when Yoseob nudged pretty hardly Dongwoon in the ribs. Dongwoon yelped and hadn't time to protest that they were crossing in the other way and their stares met once again, but just barely a second because shily they looked away. Dongwoon felt time slowing when they almost skimmed but then the moment was over, they were on the other pavement and Yoseob pushed him in a coffee shop.
Was it an awkward eye contact or were they checking each other out?
Dongwoon was still on his little cloud and also confused, because what to think of this stare? Where they really awkwardly checking the other out or what? But unfortunatly, it was only few seconds in his life, barely a moment when he thought everything with this unknown guy was possible – but what crossed his mind when he was staring at Dongwoon? Did he wonder like him what was his name, his interests, that he was ing hot and that it would be so cool to hug each other while trying to fell asleep?
Dongwoon was maybe too hyper over this little stare they exchanged. It probably meant nothing to the other, it was something that happened everyday and it couldn't change a life. But then, why Dongwoon wanted to see the other again? It was very foolish of him; he was only attracted by his flawless and good looking face – even if his smile and eyesmile seemed pure like an angel; he knew nothing of him and would never see him again. So he had to stop to think of him because he already felt awful feeling of a missed occasion and lots of what ifs coming that were only hurting him more.
Lost in his mind, Yoseob pulled him to the counter and the cashier to command their drinks. Without asking, the older chose a frappucino for himself and a strawberry mojito for Dongwoon. The younger wanted to protest – he didn't like this sugary drink and alcohol at this hour wasn't his thing, but Yoseob shushed him and added:
“Let the pro taking care of everything. It's your date which is in at stake here.”
“Which date, hyung?” Dongwoon asked, confused, thinking despite himself of the cutie they met few minutes ago – he would die to see him again.
“The girl which will ask if she can sit next to you because it would be the only place available and you'll kindly ask her if she wants to eat the strawberry added on your drink because it reminds you of the color of her cute lips and she will blush and then – jajam! You'll have a date the next sunday at the park.”
“... and why not the cinema?” Dongwoon asked again, still confused.
“That's for the third date, when you know each other better. A horror film or action then she'll grip your arm and you'll hug her to calm her fear. The seance of 4pm, so you'll take a coffee after which will evolve in a diner and then itt's your choice, little ert~”
“I said nothing!” Dongwoon blushed. “And what the with your mind? You planned my love life til which moment honestly?”
“Until the moment you beg me with teary eyes to be the god-father of your first child.”
“... But we don't even have our drinks yet. How can you plan all that when there's still no one sitting next to me? And do you really think someone will take the chair here? There's still plenty other available tables.”
“You're a novice, Woonie. I live here since my childhood, I exactly know that in some minutes it will be crowded and a girl will totally sit next to us.”
Dongwoon said nothing, not convinced, and hid a pout seeing his drink coming – he prefered latte coffee.
The next hour though, Yoseob's deduction was right: the café was now full and a first girl sat next to them. Eyeing her to see if she was a good choice for his bestfriend, Yoseob gave his approbation but Dongwoon sticked out his tongue the more discreet he could, like to say more politely “ off hyung, I won't say those sappy words”. Yoseob rolled his eyes, a bit upset, and kicked him under the table. Dongwoon hissed and awkwardly smiled to the girl who eyed him like he was some weirdo. After checking her phone five minutes, she went out – 'she wasn't the right one', Yoseob sighed.
