Who would have known that having a bell tied to your shoe gave you so much power?  You feel confident as you stride down the halls, the ringing of the bell echoing against the walls.  It’s dark in the empty museum, but that’s part of the fun.  You walk at a light pace with your camera operator behind you.  You find it embarrassing to talk to yourself sometimes, but you know it’s more entertaining to the audience if you do.

This is so humiliating, you think to yourself.  There’s no particular reason I guess, I mean it’s not like this is anything new, but for some reason this seems different.  Different in a bad way.  You’re sitting on a small stool in the bathroom while Tao runs the water for a bath. “And we are back with the hottest international pop band of the 21st Century, Purple Sun!” the TV host shouted.  You waved at the camera and smiled your killer smile that got all the boys to swoon.  The live audience went nuts, screaming and cat calling like there was no tomorrow.  You were wearing a short dress with ruffles around the waist in the worst color on the planet, neon pink.  You hated your manager for making you wear this.

It was already hot, even before sunrise on the empty pier.  The temperature for the day was supposed to be in the 90’s.  You sit on the edge of the pier, hanging your legs off the side, swinging them back and forth.  You’re wearing some jean shorts and a tight fitting t-shirt.  You had tied your hair back into a high ponytail, as you did every other day.  But why were you out here before sunrise?  Did I really come here because of a note I found in my purse, you ask yourself.

You look outside the window, lost in your own thoughts.  The room around you is cold and empty.  You’re wearing a sweatshirt that is way too big and jeans that are too long.  You’re sitting on the window seat leaning against the wall.  You hold the picture tightly to your chest, slightly crushing it. A gentle white light is shiny down on you.  You lay your head against the wall with a little thud.  The same song is playing in the background.  It’s the same one you’ve been listening to
