I understood what you meant by wanting the colours light like the shop's poster, but since the shop has a fantasy-themed poster, it was a little easier to get that sad-fantasy feel to it. However, since your story isn't fantasy, it wasn't that easy without possibly mixing romance in with it... I hope you still like the poster, though!
