She could remember the way he whispered those false promises in her ear as he traced the sharp-point the dagger along the edge of her jaw.

“I’ll never hurt you.” Hongbin murmured, showing off his brilliant smile. It never reached his chestnut-coloured eyes though, it never suited that psychotic glint.

Her heart stopped as she felt the cool-metal graze her cheek, drawing blood.

She watched as he lit the next dagger on fire.

  “It won’t ever hit you,” Hongbin promised.
