Sunlight filtered through the window, the cool morning breeze blowing the curtains. Her eyes fluttered open feeling the warmth on her face. Avoiding the sun’s rays, she rolled to the other side, burying herself under the sheets not wanting to get up yet. The comfort her bed provides was holding her body captive. “Five minutes more,” she bargained but she knew it never works for her. “Five min-“

Her eyes shot open, head turning from left to right, as she found herself inside her room, lying in her bed. “How did I even get here?” she asked herself. The last thing she remembered before closing her eyes were articles scattered on her desk and on the carpet; and her tears.

Fully awake, she pushed herself out of bed and in doing so, she heard a loud thud. Something fell. Sitting on the edge of her bed, her feet firmly planted on the floor, she bent over to reach for the fallen object. It was her diary.

Flipping through the pages, she smiled at the memories they shared, at the love they had. She was glad that she almost filled her diary but she didn’t want to end it with him. A tear escaped her lid and she quickly wiped it with her hand to keep herself from crying.

“Get up, get up, sleepy head!” she coaxed herself and somehow it worked. For in a matter of minutes, she manage to leave the confines of her room to take a shower.

Refreshed and fully dressed, she made her way to the dining area to make herself a simple breakfast – peanut butter and bread. She was about to take another bite when her phone rang. Darting towards the source of the sound, she almost slipped. Grabbing the device, her eyes widened to see her boss calling.

“Good morning sir,” she greeted, getting nervous all of a sudden. She never liked it when her boss calls. He rarely does it but when does, it is something serious and very important. She has even an hour left to go to work. The last time he called, she found herself rushing for a presentation in a conference.

“Just send the report to my email and you may have the day off.”

She blinked, tilting her head in confusion. Was the man on the other line her boss?

“Are you still there?”

“Yes, yes sir. I will send it right away,” she replied at once. “But we have a meeting today sir.”

“Your boyfriend called my secretary. You should take a rest.”

Boyfriend? She was about to ask when her front door suddenly opened, revealing a panting Jiyong. She gaped at him and pointed at the phone in her ear. He gave her his best pleading look and latched himself to her waist.

“Ahh, ye-yes, sir. Thank you, for your kind consideration,” she stammered, getting more and more confused with the situation.

“Well if there is nothing else, this conversation is over.”

“Yes sir.”
