LightUp Entertainment will be debuting their first girl group, Aurora.

Jinho : So, how is Somi and the other girls?

Manager : They're working hard. Soon, De1 and Aurora will start practicing together for a performance.

Manager-nim is accompanying me while waiting for a private audition in the company building. It's not my audition, but another person who is interested in joining LightUp as a trainee.

Jinho : Why am I attending this?

Manager : Because we're auditioning a foreigner. You're our translator. Also, you should learn from this. You've never seen a formal audition before.

Jinho : And I'm grateful that I didn't have to, but it doesn't feel right for me to be here.

Manager : Think of this as helping out other people who has dreams like yours.

Manager-nim has a point. Thinking it over, I do owe a lot to the company. I should do this much.

Jinho : Okay, Manager-nim. I'll go get prepared. I'll call you when to pick me up.

Manager : Okay! Try to enjoy it. See what trainees normally have to go through.

He left and I watched as the employee in charge of the audition sets up a camera with a tripod.

10 minutes later, a young girl dressed in punk clothing entered. Her eyes widened when she saw me by the judges' table.

Cassie : Good morning!

She greeted and bowed. She spoke English. I'll assume she's from the US.

Jinho : Good morning! Are you nervous?

Cassie : I was calm earlier. I didn't think an idol would be here for the audition!

I smiled. She seems to have energy. I hope she does well.

10 October 2016 (Monday), 5.15 p.m.

After work, I met up with Q at the recording studio. I decided to share my new experience.

Q : Eh?!! Five songs?!!

Jinho : Yes. Apparently, before the audition, she was asked to prepare five songs to sing.

Q : That's tough!

Jinho : Consider ourselves lucky. She was even recommended to wear a black top. She was also only allowed to wear a skirt, shorts, or tight jeans. They examine the legs during the audition.

Q : Wah... And then what?

Jinho : Well, after the singing, she was required to make certain facial expressions. Then, the camera recorded everything.

Q couldn't believe what I told him. No member from De1 had to go through this because of the CEO.

Q : It's amazing how trainees do it.

That's when I remembered how Q got recruited.

Q : Hyung, at the time, I could only sing and write songs. I never thought I even had a chance.

Jinho : Her name's Cassie, and I think we'll be seeing a lot more of her.

Q : We still have our own girl group to worry about, but I think they'll be okay.

Jinho : That's right! You helped them with recording their songs, right?

Q : Do you wanna hear it?

We got excited. I didn't have to reply. I just took a pair of headphones and placed them on my ears.

Q : I wrote this one for them. It's called '5cm'. A love song about wanting to stay close to each other.

Jinho : I'm glad to hear you can still make good title names.
