Chapter 2

Sin of Egoism

Before we get to the next chapter, I wanna thank my subscribers. You have no idea how happy it made me, I'm glad people enjoy my story, thank you and please continue to support me! Enjoy!~

The next day, while JaeJoong was walking to his school, he saw EunJi come out of the bus and head towards the building. He smiled fondly at her, he remembered when it was time for her to go yesterday, it was awkward but nice...

"Thanks for letting me stay, I appreciate it."

JaeJoong nodded, opening the door for her. She had changed out of his clothes and back into her original clothes that were dry and smelt like JaeJoong. She had given him his papers not too long ago and wished him luck, she knew how annoying an essay could be. JaeJoong had thanked her for that.

"I hope you didn't mind my cooking." JaeJoong had cooked for her, and was pleased when he saw her eyes lite up. She enjoyed it.

"It was really good. I can see why the girls seem to worship you." The statement drew a laugh from JaeJoong and he seemed to feel more relax around her. He'd gotten to know the basics about her as they ate, like her favorite color, food, drink, etc. "Your really talented . You can dance, cook, probably sing."

"What makes you think I can sing?"

EunJi shrugged her shoulders, tightening her backpack straps. "You look like the type."

JaeJoong accepted the answer, he actually did sing, but he wouldn't tell her that. He'd let her find out one day.

An awkward silence followed neither of them knew  what to say or how to say goodbye, maybe a wave or a hug. EunJi let out a puff of breath, her hand reaching out to her for a handshake.

"See you tomorrow...JaeJoong."

JaeJoong smiled and took her hand, her hand was soft and he enjoyed how it fit with his own hand.

"Yeah...tomorrow."

But it was awkward seeing EunJi around the college campus, she would wave to him when she saw him and he would wave back. He wanted to talk to her when he found out she had a class next to his but a group of guys would always find their way to her before he would. It annoyed him.

Right now, he was watching as that same group of guys were following her around. He could see the frustration beginning to show on her face. It was obvious she didn't want to be around them, who would blame her? The group of guys were a group of play boys and jerks, they probably only wanted to get to know her to get her in bed. That thought angered JaeJoong. It's not that JaeJoong liked her like that, or was jealous, but she had helped him and even though he returned the favor already, he couldn't help but want to help her out once more.

"Yah! EunJi!"

The said person turned, spotting JaeJoong as he stood there tapping his foot, his arms across his chest. The guys around her turned to watch JaeJoong as he made his way towards the small crowd. His gaze never leaving EunJi.

"JaeJoong?"

JaeJoong pushed his way past the guys, ignoring the curses and complaints he got from the other men.

"You busy?" JaeJoong stood in front of her, his hand going up to put a loose strand of hair behind her ear. She blinked, hazel eyes meeting brown eyes for a brief second before she quickly looked away. She shook her head, adjusting the straps of her backpack. "Good, how about we go eat lunch together after classes?" The question was so simple but such a question could cause rumors to go around quickly.

So far, no one has been brave enough to spread rumors about JaeJoong, the reason being, he wasn't the type to fit any of the rumors involving secret dates or talking crap about someone behind someone's back. It just wasn't likely, unless they saw proof.

"Oh..." she turned to look at the guys around her, they seemed a bit tense around JaeJoong but it could've been they were defensive. "Sure." She answered finally nodding her head.

The guys around remained quiet, listening to the conversation between the two, apparently wanting to spread a rumor. JaeJoong didn't care, he pretended as if they weren't there.

"How about I walk you to your class?" EunJi nodded, the need to get away from these guys could be seen just by how eager she was to leave. JaeJoong nudged his head towards the other direction, signaling her to follow him. She quickly followed close behind him, not feeling the least bit guilty about leaving her followers behind. All she wanted was to escape the men who surrounded her.

As soon as they were out of sight from the other guys, EunJi let out a breath of air, she leaned against the wall and buried her face in her hands. JaeJoong tried not to smile at her reaction, looks like she was more annoyed than he thought.

"If you don't want to hang out with them, why don't you say anything?"

EunJi's gaze shot up at him, she opened to speak but nothing came up. She looked away, kicking her feet on the ground. "I don't want to be mean." So she didn't have the heart to tell them to bug off? JaeJoong couldn't stop from smiling. As he watched her, he couldn't help but reach out and ruffle her hair. EunJi looked at him, fixing her hair as she did.

"What was that for?"

Honestly, JaeJoong didn't know why he did that, he just did it. Maybe it was the fact that she was too nice and it made her look kind of cute. JaeJoong shrugged. "I don't know." The tardy bell rung, both JaeJoong and EunJi cursed to themselves, their eyes met for a brief moment before they began to walk to their classes.

"We should hurry up. We're already late, no need to be more late right?"

JaeJoong nodded, he didn't need the professor to yell at him like he did to another student who was ten minutes late but then again he didn't want to listen to a boring three hour lecture. He had no choice in the matter. "Your right. I'll see you after class." He didn't wait for her reply as he took off in a sprint to his next class. He briefly heard a quick goodbye but he didn't bother to turn around. He just needed to get to class.

When he arrived at the familiar door, he quickly entered. The professor was barely beginning to lecture, he didn't miss anything. Thank goodness.

After apologizing to the professor, he took his seat in the second row, placing his backpack on the desk.

"The great JaeJoong is late to class?!" A voice from behind said, a hint of sarcasm in his voice that JaeJoong found very annoying. But he knew that voice, he knew who that tenor voice belonged to, it was none other than Changmin.

"What do you want Changmin?" JaeJoong whispered as he began to take out his laptop from his backpack, trying not to cause attention to himself. Changmin leaned forward from his seat behind JaeJoong, his hot breath hitting JaeJoong's neck causing him to swat Changmin away.

"Ow!" Changmin rubbed his forehead, still not sitting back bit going back far enough to where his breath was crawling down JaeJoong's neck. "You could've said something instead of slapping my forehead."

"Please Changmin, we both know you wouldn't have moved anyways, go talk to someone else. Speaking of someone else, you know where Yunho is?" Changmin shook his head and looked around the large room that was their classroom. He saw no sign of their friend, maybe he didn't come to class today or he's late.

"Tell you what..." Changmin tossed his backpack in the seat next to JaeJoong then he hopped over the desk sitting in  the seat next to JaeJoong, luckily the professor wasn't looking. Changmin gave JaeJoong a cheeky smile, beginning to take out his own laptop from his backpack. "How about after class, I treat you to some lunch? I'm feeling generous."

Unfortunately for Changmin, he didn't know JaeJoong had already made plans with someone else. JaeJoong didn't tell his friends about EunJi, they didn't need to know. It was a small situation that wasn't worth talking about bit since it was a girl, JaeJoong knew if he told any of his friends, they'd want to know every single detail. They'd want to know every word they exchanged, how many times they looked each other in the eye. It was too much explaining on JaeJoong's part. JaeJoong was about to speak up but the professor began to lecture, his attention was now directed to the professor, opening up his word document on his laptop to take notes. As he took notes, Changmin decided to be his normal, weird, self and mess with JaeJoong's inky black hair. He poked JaeJoong's cheek with the eraser that was attached to his pencil but, as usual, JaeJoong ignored him. It wasn't until the door opened that JaeJoong turned his attention away from the professor then EunJi walked into classroom. Wasn't she supposed to be in her class? What was she doing in his class. He watched as she looked around the classroom, spotting JaeJoong. He caught her smile that she threw at him but he didn't know what to do, should he wave or smile? Changmin might see if he waved though, so he smiled back. There was a brief conversation between the professor and EunJi before she walked in the direction of JaeJoong, taking a seat in the front row at the very end.

"Hey, that's that new girl...from the United states. Isn't she rich?" Changmin leaned over and whispered to JaeJoong who only shrugged, pretending not to know the answer. And so the lesson continued. Throughout the lesson, JaeJoong stole small glances at her, finding himself admiring how she looked. He liked her hair, when he ruffled her hair a little while back, it was soft. Her lips looked smooth and were probably soft like pillows, they were thin and looked...what was the word he was looking for? Kissable? Perhaps. Not to mention those eyes of hers, hazel eyes that had a shimmer of gold in them, they were beautiful and left JaeJoong wanting to look into them for a long time, letting himself get lost in those hazel orbs. But he couldn't think this way, he barely knew her and plus, he had his share of girlfriends. They all turned out to be a bunch of s who wanted him for his body, they didn't love him...but he loved them, and it hurt. To JaeJoong, love was a sickness that would come, be there for awhile, then it would leave. Nothing good came out of it in the long run. He preferred the company of his guy friends where he could be himself and just hang out. He just wanted to be happy.

"Hero?"

JaeJoong blinked, the voice pulling him out of his thoughts, he turned to Changmin smiling the slightest of smiles at the use of his nickname. He hummed in response, watching as his friend glanced at EunJi then back at JaeJoong, a knowing smirk on his lips. "You like her huh?"

Eyes widening, JaeJoong immediately shook his head, looking at his laptop screen then he turned his attention to the professor. How dare Changmin suggest that! The little voice in JaeJoong's mind, however, said other wise and he wanted to face palm himself, but that would seem strange to suddenly face palm yourself out of nowhere. Changmin wasn't leaving him alone, wiggling his finger at him, teasing him.  How annoying.

"Changmin, I'll treat you to bubble tea if you shut up." JaeJoong whispered, immediately regretting it, he had to meet up with EunJi later on. How can he hang out with both of them? Changmin would surely tease. Damn it, he was screwed.

"Deal!"

He was screwed.

He was right. Right when that bell rung, he knew his friends were going to find out. His laptop shut with a loud thud making Changmin jolt up, having just woken up from his hour nap he had taken during the lecture.

"What happened?" His speech sounded slurred from just waking up, his forehead had a small red spot that had some letters from his laptop keyboard. Apparently, when Changmin fell asleep, he used his laptop keyboard as a pillow not noticing that most of the notes he was "taking" all turned out to be a bunch of K's. Changmin let out a groan when he saw fifty two pages of nothing but K's, but JaeJoong found it amusing.

"Don't worry Changmin, you can edit your notes later." JaeJoong couldn't hold in the laugh but he quickly controlled it when Changmin gave him a stern look. Looks like Changmin lost all the energy, he shouldn't have fell asleep, now he won't be able to sleep at night AND he's gonna fail the test. Pitiful. JaeJoong almost felt sorry for the guy...almost.

"Whatever." Changmin yawned, running his hand down his face. "Lets just hurry up and meet up with the guys. I text them, told them we were gonna meet them outside."

Great. The guys were coming too, he would never hear the end. JaeJoong silently cursed himself as he put his laptop away in his backpack, standing up, JaeJoong took long strides towards the exit, temporarily leaving Changmin behind. JaeJoong looked outside, looking for a certain person. His eyes lite up when he found her. "EunJi!" He called to her. She turned around spotting him immediately and beginning to walk towards him, JaeJoong met her halfway.

"Are we leaving now?" She asked, tightening the straps on her backpack, she wasn't going to lie, she was pretty hungry and after that three hour lesson, she's surprised no one heard her stomach growl. JaeJoong nodded, clearing his throat, getting ready for what he was about to say. "Is it okay if I bring a few friends along? There my best friends and there harmless...most of the time." The last part was more of a whisper, she didn't hear it though.

"I don't mind." She paused, looking behind JaeJoong for a moment then looking back at him. She didn't mind anyone else being around other people, it would make the tension in the air between them lessen. "I'll wait for you by the gate." She her heel and began to walk down the wall to the main gates of the college. JaeJoong let out a puff of air, making the black bangs that were on his forehead float for a second then land back on his forehead.

"So you do like her." Changmin sounded similar to a creep, like those people who pop out of nowhere in those horror movies. JaeJoong wasted not time in turning around, he shook his head again, once more denying that statement but Changmin wouldn't buy it.

"Admit it!"

"There's nothing to admit other than you being a dork." JaeJoong shot back with a smirk. Changmin rolled his eyes at his friend, he was a hard cookie to crumble.

"Alright then, what's with the secret meeting?"

"If it was a secret, we would've been in a room somewhere am more quiet."

Now it was Changmin's turn to smirk. "Imagine what you could do in a room...?" He trailed off, leaving JaeJoong to ponder on that thought, his cheeks turning a light pink.

"Yah!" He socked Changmin in the shoulder, cursing him for bringing unwanted thoughts in his mind. Changmin only laughed, rubbing his shoulder that had been punched.

"I was kidding." Changmin laughed, making his way towards the exit, ignoring the glare from JaeJoong. JaeJoong reluctantly followed his so called friend to the exit, rubbing the front of his temple trying to get the thoughts out of his mind. He was so busy with his thoughts he didn't see Yoochun sneak up behind him.

"HERO!"

The sudden outburst made JaeJoong jump up, fists raised to knock whoever scared him out, but when he saw Yoochun, his fists lowered, a traces of a smile on his lips.

"Yah Yoochun, don't do that." JaeJoong ruffled his hair, beginning to walk with Yoochun, who was still laughing at his friends reaction.

"Sorry JaeJoong. Couldn't help it,why what's this I hear about a-.." his sentence was interrupted by a hyper Junsu, the said person jumped on Yoochun's back, latching his arms around Yoochun's neck so he couldn't throw him off as easily.

"Yoochun! Remember our deal." A groan was drawn from Yoochun, he was kind of hoping Junsu forgot about that bet they had made in class.

"Deal?" JaeJoong interfered, walking closer to the two so he could hear the conversation more thoroughly.

"Aish, Junsu made a bet that the professor would wear a black tie instead of a white tie today. It was stupid but I didn't think he would win. Now I have to buy him lunch." JaeJoong tsked his friend, he should no better than to agree to a stupid bet like that.

"Let's just get some food, I'm hungry." Junsu whined tugging on Yoochun's sleeve, Junsu complied and followed Junsu to the exit, JaeJoong following close behind. When they reached the gates, JaeJoong saw EunJi waiting, she was talking to some girl who was showing her some thing on her phone.

"Where's Yunho?" Changmin, who had now joined the group questioned. It was Junsu who spoke up, apparently having all the answers as he claimed.

"Yunho called in sick but he's not sick. If you ask me, he wanted to sleep in. I don't think he's really sick."

"Damn. He's gonna have to make up a lot of work." Changmin mumbled, he  rubbed the back of his neck, wondering how Yunho would take the news of him missing an entire lecture. The test was next week on Monday, he's gonna have to study hard.

"That's his fault." Junsu stretched his arms as he walked, turning his attention to JaeJoong, who was staring at something ahead of them...or someone. "JaeJoong?" But the male wasn't listening. "Yah! Hero...wake up." finally JaeJoong blinked blushing slightly for being caught staring. He turned to Junsu.

"What?"

"Who you staring at?" JaeJoong shook his head and diverted his attention to the ground. He suddenly felt Changmin's arm wrap around him, the younger bringing him close to him.

"Aw come on JaeJoong. Just admit it, There's someone else besides me. You can admit it, I won't get hurt. I promise." He held up his right hand as a sign that he wad telling the truth. JaeJoong couldn't help but laugh at the younger. He and Changmin had had a sort of game to Ser who would be able to our last the other in a seducing game. Changmin had made it a joke and claimed to random people that JaeJoong was his boyfriend. Of course no one believed it because everyone at their college knew about JaeJoong and Changmin's playful games. It we still fun to watch.

"There's no one else Changmin." JaeJoong slipped his arm around his waist causing Changmin to shriek and slap his hand away.

"Not in public."

And to this everyone laughed. Just because they were older, didn't mean they couldn't play around like they used to when they were younger. It kept their playful image.

"JaeJoong!" The familiar voice made the said person freeze, Changmin gave him a knowing smirk and pulled him closer than need be.

"Here she comes." Changmin whispered to JaeJoong, JaeJoong rolled his eyes and tried to peel Changmin off of him but had no success. It was too late anyways, EunJi was now in front of them, she looked confused.

"These are your friends?" She asked looking at them all. Junsu and Yoochun staring at her, she was a stranger to them.

"Yeah. This is Junsu, Yoochun, and-"

"Changmin! JaeJoong's boyfriend." Changmin declared with a hint of pride. EunJi's eyes widened, she looked back at JaeJoong who was glaring knives at Changmin.

"No he's not." JaeJoong grit out then quickly got out of Changmin's hold. EunJi probably thought he was gay now, well at least Changmin didn't do anything too drastic, like give him a kiss on the cheek. Damn, that would've been bad.

"Oh..." she sounded like she was uncomfortable, didn't JaeJoong tell her his friends were harmless?

"What's your name?" Junsu came forward, a gentle smile on his lips. He didn't want to scare her away. First impressions were important right?

"My name is EunJi." EunJi answered calmly, the rest of the guys (save for JaeJoong ) were watching her. It was beginning to get really awkward.

"Okay that's enough! Let's just go get something to eat." JaeJoong broke the awkwardness before EunJi would decide to change her mind. Everyone nodded in agreement and they began to walk in an awkward silence.

"So...JaeJoong. You didn't tell us we were gonna have company." JaeJoong shot a glare at Yoochun, Yoochun blinked at the intense glare and looked away, no further questions were asked from him.

"If you don't want me to be here then I can-"

"No EunJi, it's not that it's just it's their first time meeting you. There not usually like this though." JaeJoong quickly explained glancing at the others. Changmin cleared his throat and decided to do something about this weird atmosphere.

"He's right. We're usually very outgoing, can I ask you a question though?" EunJi nodded and awaited his question. She mentally prepared herself for anything this guy would ask her.

"Nothing stupid Changmin." JaeJoong warned in a low voice but Changmin pretended not to hear him at all.

"How'd you meet JaeJoong?"

Damn you Changmin.

The question didn't come to a surprise to EunJi, she expected it and was prepared to tell them.

JaeJoong sighed. "We can explain that later, when we get to the restaurant."

To this they nodded, the only person missing was Yunho, for all they knew he actually could be sick. JaeJoong made a mental note to go visit him, after all, he was the elder one and he had to take care of his dong saengs and Yunho was really close to him, so he had to be there.

"Well then let's go." Junsu tugged on Yoochun's sleeve, Changmin following along with JaeJoong and EunJi. The two were staring at each other, JaeJoong offering her an apologetic look for his friends weird behavior but then again they were always this way. Even JaeJoong was weird when with his friends but he liked to keep his cool image at school.

"Your friends are nice." EunJi said walking close to JaeJoong, the black haired male shrugged and stuffed his hands back knowledge his pocket.

"Well, they're okay."

"They seem like they're family." JaeJoong nodded, they were family. They were brothers and they have known each other since they were young. Nothing could come between their friendship, their brotherhood. Most people who knew them saw their bond and agreed on them being brothers.

"We are family. Their my brothers and I love everyone of them."

The reply warmed EunJi's heart, she was now seeing a more caring side of JaeJoong, a side she could get used to. She couldn't wait to find out more about this group, that is, if they accepted her to be a friend, then maybe she could get to know them all. Being new to South Korea, she was worried that no one woukd accept her, but people like JaeJoong made her day brighter. Made her love South Korea even more.
