“that’s the problem. You LOVED me. It’s now past tense.” I bow my head

“is it too late to say that?” Kris holds my hand and I flinch from his touch.

“you said it yourself. Loved me. You already have a son and a wife.” A tear slips down my cheek

“let me go.” I whisper and stand to leave.

“I’ll wait for you” he says
