Never in her life had Tiffany felt this small before. Moreover, right in the eyes of a mere little girl. The familiar icy cold stare that would freeze her senses, the same icy stare that seemed to be able to see through her, that icy stare which her angel portrays. Right now, how much she wished she could dig up a huge hole and squeeze herself in. Those scrutinizing eyes were scanning her from head to toe, and back.

“Who. Are. You.” Three words made into a sentence did not sound like a question, but more of a statement. Such a sweet-looking little girl suit a soft and sweet voice. Yet what shocked Tiffany was getting an unexpected return. The girl’s voice was nothing near to soft nor sweet. It’s quiet and complete coldness, her tone’s demanding. Like as though Tiffany was some kind of criminal trying to get her way in to one of the houses.

Oh how much Tiffany wished to teleport on the spot back home and hide under her safe blanket…  She was not ready to face someone this scary for her to handle. This was not one of what her little lists of events that would occurred while she was analysing on her way to Jessica’s place. As much as she wished to see Jessica, she wanted to go home. Any more contact with this little girl, Tiffany thought she would literally freeze into an ice block.

She unconsciously made a few scrunches and funny faces which got the little girl quirked a brow, thinking she’s a weirdo.

“Quit making faces and answer my question.” Hearing zero response from Tiffany, the little girl sighed in frustration. “If you’re just gonna stand there and make a fool out of yourself, be my guest.” With that, she readily close the front door.

“H-hey… Wait a minute.” A foot stuck itself between the little gaps, stopping the door from closing completely.

The door opened ajar, while the little girl gave an impatient look at Tiffany. The latter wouldn’t want her effort of coming here all the way after class to go down the drain, so she took a deep breath before blurting, “Is Jessica in?”

That was how Tiffany ended up standing in front of this brown stylish door, with ‘Jessica’ carved in a calligraphic way. She was contemplating whether to turn the knob and enter, or just go back to sit in the hall like a good toddler and awaits Jessica to wake up. Her hesitation was all thanks to the little girl who claimed that she was just giving a gentle warning that Jessica did not like to be disturbed when asleep. Or else, HellSica would appear and swipe the whole house like a tornado.

Right then, someone else Tiffany was much afraid of came across her mind: Dad. Reminding her to be home early and report to him before 8, which means some time after dinner. She brought up her wrist to check the time on her vintage analogue watch, indicating the time then was 4 in the late afternoon. She took a whole pack of air, pluck up enough courage and turned the knob.

Pushing the door wide enough for her to pass, then closed it back quietly. The room was dim, except for minimal light rays shining from the cracks in between the curtains gap. A figure curled into a ball under the blanket made Tiffany smiled, her mind imagining the cute angel sleeping soundly underneath like a baby. Light snoring was aud
