Part 4

Punch!
“Ouch!” My back slapped onto the wall behind me as I looked angrily at the same small size girls as I.

“How dare you look at me like this?” The girl whose name was Haeun snapped and hit my shoulder, painfully.

“What do you want from me? I don’t have my lunch box, they took it.” I said scarily, tears in my eyes but still had a challenging look.

“You don’t belong here. Oppa said that your brother was a dangerous person. Get out of our school.” Haeun yelled and I flinched.

“My brother isn’t a bad person.” I sniffed and the girls started to point at me calling me a liar.

“Stop lying to us.”

“You don’t belong here.”

“Liar!!”

“My brother isn’t a bad person” I repeated again and again, but no one listened nor believed

“Aaaah!” I screamed and ruffled my hair in frustration as I remembered Haeun. She used to bully me when I was young. One of the people that made bad rumors about my family.

“A-are you okay Minyoung?” Jimin looked at me as if I was a psycho in their class and I looked around me to realize I was in the class. The teacher glared at me, raising her eyebrow and I gulped hard.

Making a quick glance at Jungkook which surprised me that he was looking at me too, smirking. Now I want to disappear.

“Can you explain yourself?” The teacher gaze was cutting me down.

“I’m sorry.” I bowed and she sighed, “Give some attention to the class.”

“Oooh~ The new kid is something.” A boy said and the other boys started to cheer up.

“KEEP IT DOWN.” The teacher yelled and they shouted up.

I sat down, embarrassed of what just happened. I felt like crying.

I looked around the class when my eyes spotted Haeun. She was glaring at me.

What’s here problem now?

Narrator POV

It was the lunch break and Minyoung didn't feel like eating so she excused herself and went to the library. The only place she could think calmly about all the sudden mess that happened to her in less than two days.

"Good morning!" Minyoung said powerlessly, approaching luhan's desk.

"You look like a dead person?" He gasped. Stopping what he was doing. It looked like he was writing thing down on some papers. He stared at her, scanning her. She looked as if someone had hit her on the head.

“This is hell. HELL” Minyoung yelled and Luhan’s eyes widened of her sudden burst.

He cleared his throat before asking, "So what section do you want to destroy today?"

"What about all the library? I’m in the mood for that. Try me." She challenged and Luhan scoffed.

"If only you want to rebuild and rearrange it again. ALONE. Then go ahead." Luhan smirked and raised an eyebrow and Minyoung narrowed her eyes at him, before tackling some curl of her hair behind her ears.

"I'm going to be in the same section!" Minyoung tapped her finger on the desk once before turning to leave.

“Minyoung-ah!” Luhan called stopping her and she turned back and whined "Wae? What now?"

"Your name!" He handed her a pen and a notebook. It was the library records of the visitors.

"Why didn't you write it for me like the other day?" She said, taking the pen and wrote down her name. Before she could leave the pen, Luhan pointed on another column. "Write the section too. Here!"

"Okay!" She gave a quick look over the notebook when luhan pulled it from her.

She noticed that Jungkook’s name was written before her, with the same date, but with no section.

"Uh, huh… Is Jungkook here?" She asked.

Minyoung didn't know what she should call Luhan, as he was older than her and she didn't know if she should call him a teacher or not.

"Yes, he is here, I told you. You are the second kid to take an interest in this old building. And..... The Kids call me here Lu or Luhan. You can choose whatever you like." He winked and she blushed when he answered her thoughts.

"Okay, then later… Luhan-ssi"

“Remove the ‘ssi’, girl, ” he yelled after her as she took her leave.

***

The library had been just like how she left it, silent and it was unexpectedly warm.

She headed to the same section and picked a book that caught her eyes. She put all the books that she wanted to read at a level that she could reach while she was cleaning.

Jimin's words filled her mind, and Haeun’s threat made it worst. Minyoung shook her head and hit it once with her fist. "You are crazy”

And twice

“You are crazy. Don't believe words just because you heard them."

"Stop hitting yourself, you will get stupider."

"OMMA" Minyoung screamed, jumping from her place, scared.

Jungkook was sitting behind the cupboard next to her. He titled his head so he could look at Minyoung from over his shoulder.

"You're so loud. We are in the library." Jungkook sighed.

"It's your fault, you scared me. Are you a ghost or something?" She put a hand over her chest, trying to calm her heart beats down a bit.

"I want a quiet place to sleep and you're making a lot of noises here." He spat, standing on his feet

"Sleep? You are here to sleep!"

"Never mind, I'm going to sleep somewhere else." He shrugged and walked passed her.

Minyoung took her book and followed him. She found it a chance to get close to Jungkook. To have a talk with him. Maybe ask him for the truth and Haeun!

Jungkook stopped walking and turned, looking at Minyoung, with his deep dark eyes. "What do you think you are doing?"

"Me?” She pointed at herself, “I'm going to read." She smiled, showing her dimple on her left cheek.

Jungkook continued to walk again when he felt Minyoung following him again.

"You are following me…"

"So?" She asked innocently.

"So!" He snickered, "Stay away, I need some quiet time"

"I don't want to. I’m trying to make a friendship with you."

Jungkook suddenly stopped, making Minyoung who was behind him, crash into his back.

"Why did you stop suddenly?" She cried, rubbing her nose that hit his back.

Jungkook turned with a frown over his face in which Minyoung, for a moment, thought he would yell at her. She took two steps backward when she realized how close his face was and she felt her face heated up.

Jungkook smirked. "You want to be my friend, huh?"

She nodded, giving him a determine look.

"But I don't need friends. They are all liars..." He ran a hand through his hair that stopped down on the nape of his neck.

Minyoung understood him. Making Friends in this country, wasn't a very good idea, but Jimin her friend from Seoul and Jimin her friend now, changed this concept in her mind.

"But-" Minyoung was about to say something when Jungkook started to talk again, stopping her.

"Since you want to be around me, so bad, " he smirked smugly and Minyoung wanted to wipe this smirk off his face. She got annoyed by how arrogant he acted. "Why don't you be my girlfriend instead of my friend?" His tone was filled with challenging as if he was sure she wouldn’t be able to do that.

Minyoung lost her words. She was speechless. She couldn't believe what she just heard.

D-did he just ask m-me out? ME? She couldn't deny that her heart skipped a beat.

"Y-you are hoping for too much… a-aren’t you?" Minyoung stuttered and warped her arms over her chest. "If you have feelings for me. Just say so."

"Me? For you?" He scoffed, "you're that one who's hoping for too much"

"Then I reject you." She put her hands on her waist.

"Then go away. You are annoying me, it's no fun like this" He scowled and turned to walk again.

Jerk

Minyoung followed him again, feeling that it was the right thing to stick around him and to be friends. She wanted to prove to him that friends could be something good. Sharing smiles, happiness, sadness, tears, would be more memorable with your friends

Jungkook sighed as he ignored her stubborn presence around him, letting her follow him as much as she wanted.

Minyoung's POV

Jungkook after a little while of walking, sat on the ground, leaning his head on a wall. I looked at him with my eyebrow raised. "What? You are going to sit here?"

I sighed and sat next to him when he didn't reply and closed his eyes. There was a large window above our heads that allowed the sun to enter into the library. The warm sun ray warped our legs that were stretched on the ground.

Hating the silence between us, I closed the book that I started to read a few lines from it and stood on my knees looking through the window.

The view almost took my breath. I never realized how beautiful this country could be. The window was looking at the background of the library which there was a lake and a large green land surrounded it. I wondered how it would be if I saw this place with my brother.

I looked down beside me where Jungkook was sitting. His eyes were still closed, his arms were wrapped around his chest and his head titled downwards a little bit.

"This is the first time to see this place. It is beautiful." I said, anticipating any reaction or answer from him because I knew he was just pretending to be sleeping but I got nothing.

I sat down again next to him and looked up at the ceiling as I recalled some of my memories. "You know, I can't remember all my childhood. I only remember the bad things and the memories with my brother." Jungkook then looked up, I could see him moving from the corner of my eye. I smiled a bit, liking how he gave me now his attention.

"I used to live here, but I don't remember anyone of you and it seems like they also don't remember me. Even though, today I remembered this girl, Haeun-ah. I don’t know if she remembered me or not.” I Looked down, and started to play with my fingers. “When I was young, I used to get bullied, and my brother then would save me" I chuckled, trying not to get too emotional, remembering my brother, and I didn't want to cry again, especially in front of Jungkook.

"Why are you telling me this?" He asked, his voice was calm and deep. It almost made me shudder.

"I believe that you're not a bad person and we are friends now, right?" I grinned and he rolled his eyes almost smiling.

“How’s your shoulder?”

“What?” He raised his eyebrow and I pointed at his hurt shoulder, “Last time, you hurt it while saving me.”

“It was nothing. I’m good”

“That’s a relief. I almost felt bad.” I smiled at looked at him, handing him my hands. “So friends from today?”

"Believe me, I'm really a bad person." He ignored my hands and looked in front of him.

"Okay, I agree. Fine" His eyes widened and I explained, "I believe that you are a jerk, and yes, you are a bad person and arrogant and someone who gets on my nerve,”

“Do I?” He smiled.

“You remind me of my brother. Everyone misunderstood him and I believe it is the same for you.”

“No, it’s not a misunderstanding, you don’t understand.” He snapped and I frowned at him, “but still you saved me. Two times and I'm thankful and I want to help you."

His eyes went cold and his expression was blank. It was that look that scared me the most. "Who asks for your help?"

"N-no one but-"

"Just give up, it's no use, Minyoung!" He said standing on his feet.

“Jungkook.” I called him, but he disappeared between library cupboards.

I shrugged my legs in frustration over the ground. I failed again to get close even a little bit to him. "You idiot, you idiot." I slapped my stupid mouth for saying unnecessary things before groaning.

Returning back to Luhan’s desk, I slapped the book over it, and luhan gave me a look before taking it and wrote in the borrowing record, the date of the day and wrote it down in his notebook that I borrowed it.

"Did you guys have a fight?" He said, his eyes fixed on the notebook.

"Yeah," I sighed. "Is he always like this?"

"He's a nice kid."

"I doubt" I scoffed

Luhan smiled, giving me the book. "Getting closer these days, huh?"

"He's just... Argh! Whatever, I have to go." I put the book in my bag and went to my next class.

At the end of the day, I started to collect my things in my bag when Jimin nudged me.

“You are acting strange today!” she said and I gave her a confused look.

“Strange? What are you taking about?” I smiled and she shook her head, “Is jungkook bulling you? Because of what we said about him?”

It’s not jungkook!

I glance at Haeun and sighed, “It’s not like this.”

“I knew it. He’s now seeking for revenge” Jimin said, panicked.

“I told you,it’s not like this.”

“He will kill us”

“Are you even listening?” I snapped, “Jimin, please, could you stop making a false story out there? I told you Jungkook did nothing to me.”

“A-are you mad?” She stuttered, eyes widened. She looked guilty and I felt bad for letting it all on her.

“I’m sorry.” I murmured before taking my leave.

Jimin did nothing bad, but being scared of Jungkook like everyone. I knew I shouldn’t have reacted like this. But it frustrated me how they kept talking without evidence or knowing the hidden truth. I started to wonder if they even tried to ask Jungkook for the truth or they just started to accuse him. But then I started to wonder if they were right. Because Jungkook didn’t even try to deny any of that.

Bored!

That night I felt so bored after I finished my homework. In Seoul at a time like this I would call Jimin and hang around, but here, I barely know the way to my house even though we reached our 7th day in this country.

I didn't know what to do so I was laying lazily over the couch, eating chips and watching TV when I smelled a delicious food coming from the kitchen. I ran to the kitchen to find my mom was warping up the food.

"What are you doing? Isn't this food for us?" I asked, taking one of Kimchi that wasn't warped yet. My mom hit my hand as I was trying to reach for another one.

"Stop eating." She said, her tune wasn't pleasing. She was sad about something.

"Mom, what's wrong? Why are you warping up this food?"

"It's for your Uncle. Go and get dressed you will deliver that to him."

"Did we open up a restaurant without my knowing? Why wouldn't he just cook for himself?" I spat.

"He is still your uncle. Take nicely about him." She scolded me, her eyes were like a laser on me.

"What don't look at me like that? It is all his fault." I said a matter of fact and she kept glaring at me. Her glaring was the scariest thing on this earth.

"Fine," I shrugged. "But I don't know the way, you know?"

She gave me a paper and sniffed. "Here I draw a map for you."

"You know there is something like GPS now!" I spat again and ran away to my room with paper before she could kick me.

I walked, following the direction that my mom gave me and I made sure that my phone was full charged in case of any emergency, through a similar dark street it reminded me of what happened that day and a chill took me

After 15 minutes of walking, I reached an old building with an iron fence surrounded it. I opened the door of the fence and it made loud noises. I sighed as I stepped in, recalling my memories here.

My brother used to come here a lot, so I came with him. My Uncle had a small club of martial arts and boxing, and my brother was one of his students and the best of them.

Ten years ago, my brother almost had reached the championship, but he was eliminated. After a few says he got into an accident and lost his life. I became the sister of the guy who thrown himself in front of a car because of his grief and selfishness. However, my brother would never do something like that.

So my mom put all the blame and fault on my uncle, for teaching him and making him love something like this. I never thought my mom also would believe in those rumors, I thought she believed in him and she felt proud of him.

However, she lost the most important thing in her life in which she became in pain and sadness for years and that what made me also hate my uncle. I also ended up believing my brother killed himself. My uncle should have stopped him, from killing himself at least.

I knocked the old wooden door, but there was no answer, I tried to open it and it opened.

Leaving the door open as always

"Uncle~" I called, but still no answer.

There were some noises coming from the basement of the house. As I remembered it was the training area, which was closed after my brother's death. My uncle stopped training people as the guilt took him. He even had been drinking every day and every night.

I went downstairs as the view of the room started to get clearer. The room was still the same, but that boy with the familiar dark black hair, which was wet with sweat and sharp dark eyes that was looking directly at the sand bag in front of him, caught her eyes.

He was the only one there, he was punching the sand bags with all his power as his sweat flow down on the ground.

The bags in my hands dropped and he looked at me. He had a shocked expression on his face. He was breathing heavily, opening his mouth, and then closing it again. There was no words coming out and I was still in shock

What are you doing here?
