Hyomin was staring blankly at her notebook as her class went on and lecturer was explaining about the history of the art, her mind was occupied with her train of thoughts, and she got trapped in them.

“Hyomin ! ” Hyomin jumped at the loud voice shouted at her ear, she was back to her sense and found her short haired girl at her left.

“Why did you have to shout Sunny?” Hyomin annoyingly asked her friend

“Earth to Hyomin, I called you for hundred times but you didn’t hear it, class was dismayed for a few minutes ago” Sunny exaggerated a bit, she called Hyomin’s name for a few times but her friend didn’t even dodge.

“Oh, sorry, I was thinking about something” Hyomin said

“If anything disturbs your, you know you have a friend in me” Sunny never wanted to force her friend to say anything she didn’t feel like sharing.

“Thank you Sunny” Hyomin gave her friend a sincere smile.

FLASHBACK

It had been a week since Hyomin stopped working at Coffee Shop a Eunjung’s request to avoid unnecessary argument with the older woman, Hyomin went back to the life she was living before, she managed to spend more time with Eunjung, because she didn’t want to make the latter felt abandoned while she got less time to be with Jiyeon, which Jiyeon seemed to be fine with it but what Hyomin didn’t know, the younger woman was getting hurt.

Today Eunjung was not her usual self, she was anxious, worried and most of all scared, she decided it and she couldn’t afford to fail, she couldn’t let of go of this chance.

The doorbell ring made Eunjung jumped a bit, Hyomin was going to answer the door when Eunjung offered to open it.

“Hi Jiyeon, come in ” Eunjung greeted with her normal tone, Jiyeon greeted her and walked into the apartment.

“Who is that Eunjung unnie?” Hyomin asked from the kitchen

“It’s Jiyeon” Eunjung said , Hyomin was bewildered then stopped what she was doing and peeked through the living room

“I invited Jiyeon to join our lunch today, I’m sorry I forgot to tell you” Eunjung said smiling sheepishly

“ Oh, it’s fine, by the way it has been a while we had lunch together” Hyomin smiled happily, clueless of what was going to happen next .

“ Do you need help Hyomin?” Jiyeon asked offered to help

“Thank you Jiyeon, I’m almost done, can you please set the tables for three?” Hyomin told her and Jiyeon walked to kitchen to help.

When they started eating, and Eunjung waited until they were done and went to living room to say something  

“Well, Jiyeon, thank you for coming today, I would like to ask you a big favor” Eunjung said smiling nervously

“Shoot it Eunjung unnie” Jiyeon sensed something not right here but she chose to go with the flow.

“I want you as my witness” with that Eunjung got up from sofa and kneeled down in front of Hyomin who extremely surprised at Eunjung’s sudden action. Eunjung took a ring from her pocket then said the words that got both Hyomin and Jiyeon shocked

“ Hyomin ah, after all these years that I’ve loved you and treasured you more than anyone , I guess it’s time to make you officially mine” Eunjung nervously said , “ Will you accept my love and be my girlfriend?” Eunjung managed to finish her words.

Hyomin was frozen in her place while Jiyeon was not much different, she should have this coming, she looked at Hyomin’s eyes and she looked back at me, Jiyeon held her breathe, anticipating what Hyomin was going to say, she could tell from the look in Hyomin’s eyes, she was being confused and lost, Jiyeon wanted to take Hyomin’s hand and leave but her legs were not moving.  

Hyomin’s POV

This was what I less expected to happen on the day that three of us reunited, not this way, Eunjung unnie was kneeling in front of me with a ring on her hand, I looked Jiyeon who was sitting opposite, she was being anxious and lost, she sent me a pleading eyes, I couldn’t take it anymore, when I looked back at Eunjung unnie, she was trembling with fear and anticipation, her eyes were shining with hope, I didn’t have a heart to get it died down. I made up my mind and said the right thing that I should have said :

“Yes”

Hyomin’s POV

Eunjung unnie is waving at me in front of university gate, she’s picking me up for dinner tonight, I try to make myself cheerful as much as I can. As we are driving to the restaurant, I look out of the window thinking of particular someone, since the day Eunjung unnie confessed to me she disappeared, no message, no call, I’m getting worried about her.

“Is the view outside that interesting Hyomin ah?” Eunjung unnie asked me.

“I’ve just got nothing to do” I said

 “Hyomin ah, I’ve got a good news to tell you” Eunjung unnie said excitedly

“What is it unnie?” I asked

“I got promoted to Hyori ssi assistant now” She smiled, proud.

“Congratulation unnie, you are the best” I said, feeling proud of her, she really deserves it for her hard work.

“ Hyomin ah, please know that I’m doing all of this for you, I’ll provide you the best thing I can”  Eunjung said, Hyomin was touched by what older woman has been doing for her, and this would be the least she could do for her, being by her side.

Jiyeon’s POV

As I lay down on the bed in my bedroom, memory of the night we spent at this beach house is rushing back to me, my eyes are burning with hot tear

Flashback

“I’ll sleep on sofa, so you can have the bed” Jiyeon said as I was leaving the bedroom, but was held back by Hyomin’s hand.

“Jiyeon, you won’t be comfortable sleeping on it, beside this bed is big enough for two” Hyomin reasoned.

“You don’t mind it” Jiyeon asked making sure it would not disturb the latter

“As long as you don’t sleep talking then I’m fine with it” Hyomin joked, Jiyeon smiled and laid down on the other side of the bed and drifted to sleep

Jiyeon was woken up at the middle of the night because Hyomin was having nightmare,

 “Mom, please don’t leave” Hyomin said in her sleep.

“ I guess I filled her too much about my mom’s story that she missed her mom” Jiyeon said to herself, feeling a bit guilty.

Hyomin struggled and reached for the air , Jiyeon sat up and tried to wake Hyomin up

“ Hyomin ah , Hyomin ah” Jiyeon said , Hyomin was awake and realized she had a nightmare

“I’m sorry for waking you up” Hyomin said lowered her head

“ Don’t worry Hyomin ah, just go back to sleep” Jiyeon said and Hyomin went back to sleep but Jiyeon could feel that Hyomin couldn’t fall asleep

“You know what, hug is the best human blanket in the world that makes you sleep well” Jiyeon said turning around to hug Hyomin from her back, she could hear Hyomin’s heartbeat

“Thank you Jiyeon ah” Hyomin said and fell asleep in Jiyeon’s hug till the morning came.

End of Flashback

“Jiyeon ah, please don’t scare me like this, please reply my message…. Hyomin”, I read the latest message received from the woman I’ve been thinking of a lot these few days, through my heart hurt with her decision but I just can’t let her go.

Qri walked to Eunjung as she was sitting at the pub counter before handing a glass of tequila to her

“Congratulation, Eunjung” Qri said

“Thank you Qri ssi” Eunjung accepted the drink from Qri .

“Cheers” Qri said as she hit her glass with Eunjung’s

Tonight as a reward to her staff for their effort and hard work, as well as an official announcement for Eunjung’s new position, Hyori shut down the pub for a day and let her staff enjoyed themselves at the party.

Qri was walking off then stumbled, Eunjung quickly helped her up.

“Are you alright?” Eunjung asked Qri

 “I guess I sprained my foot” Qri said, she seemed painful, Eunjung crouched down to check

 “I’ll help you to guest room and put ice on it” Eunjung suggested

While Eunjung was supporting Qri to the VIP guest room at the back, she started to feel dizzy and her head spined around, she passed out , and now it was Qri who had to support her.

“I’m sorry Eunjung ah, but I can’t let you go” Qri said before signaling her guard to carry Eunjung out of the backdoor to her car.
