Mondays and Tuesdays were the two days of the week that Krystal despised the most. She disliked Mondays simply for being the unfortunate day to begin the school week, and she loathed Tuesdays because she considered them to be the unnecessary day of the week. Not quite the beginning, nor the middle, and nowhere close to the end.
So on those two days, Krystal always found herself to be quieter and more irritable. And despite knowing this fact very well, on one Tuesday afternoon in the university library, Sulli tried her luck to talk to Krystal about a sensitive topic: her birthday.
“You’re not doing anything for your birthday?” Sulli inquired, shocked. “But- you love doing things on your birthday. And ths year is really special-”
“You think I don’t know that?” snapped Krystal as she shoved a book between the others on the shelf. Catching the apologetic and slightly hurt look on her friend’s face, she sighed, “I just don’t feel like doing anything this year. I’m not really in the mood to.”

Krystal paused momentarily from pulling out the book she needed to look at her close friend. “I think you know,” she responded simply.
“Is it,” Sulli hesitated, not wanting to open fresh wounds, “because of what happened recently?”
The lack of response was a clear enough answer itself.
The slightly taller girl sighed. “Krystal, that was six days ago.”
Krystal, who had been keeping her focus ahead of her as she walked towards the exit, suddenly stopped in her steps and her heel to face her friend who was startled by Krystal’s sudden movement and even more so by her dark expression.
“I don’t think you understand, Sulli. Only six days? Do you realize how long that feels for a broken heart? It feels like six centuries. I have yet to accept the reality that my boyfriend no longer harbors feelings for me when I still do, and you’re telling me to move on that quickly?” Krystal scoffed, tears slowly but surely forming in her eyes.
“You think I want to be in this situation? I want to celebrate my birthday too, but I ca
