Jealousy and desiresChorong had spent weeks thinking whenever she had the time to. On the plane, on the bus, in the car, in the bus, in her room but none of her thoughts seem to wield with each other. She wanted to be free from loving romantically but it proved to be an arduous task whenever Bomi gazes at her, her eyes sparkling with admiration. She knew Bomi would not love her back as much as she did. Bomi is a free spirit, she lives in the moment and does not like to be tied down by something, maybe that was influencing Chorong as well.
She had an image to maintain and uphold as a performer and that would all be shattered if Bomi was around. She loses herself in her energy, her eyes, her voice, everything about her. Chorong is afraid of loving Bomi to put it simply, she chastised herself time and time again. There is no loving when you are an idol, a performer. She scolded herself into thinking that she should just let go, let go of Bomi. It would be better for everyone. Better for Chorong even if it grieves her, better for Bomi who can prance around free, and better for the fans who suspect which is dangerous in Korea.
As time passes, they went to concert after concert, Chorong tried to avoid Bomi as much as possible. Their eyes never met, their voices never spoke, their hands never touched or burshed against each others'. Bomi was worried, Chorong knew, Eunji was worried, the whole of Apink was worried but none of them spoke to her about it, not even Eunji. Chorong was fine with it.
Until, Bomi came.
She sat on the edge of Chorong's bed, apprehensive worry plastered on her face that made Chorong want to spring up, hug her suffocatingly tight and never let go. But Chorong knew better, she kept up her facade. She had wells of tears accumulating in her eyes when she would think about not ever kissing Bomi again. She would miss the softness of her lips against hers, and memories flooded back from when they would spend secret moments kissing but never further than that.
Bomi spoke first, her voice as husky as usual, "unnie...are you okay? I've noticed. You aren't happy anymore." Chorong fell onto the bed, and swung an arm over her eyes. "I'm fine, Bomi." Chorong was mentally urging Bomi to leave the room for good but part of her wanted Bomi to stay. Bomi smiled, her eyes forming into crescents, "No you're not. Come on let me give you a massage?"
The sheer concern and cheerfulness that laced Bomi's voice was enough to send a jolt of sadness into Chorong, causing a momentary tear to slide down her face. "No thanks, I just need sleep," Chorong sniffed as quietly as possible, refusing to let Bomi know how much she was suffering. Bomi picked up on it as quickly as Chorong rejected her, "UNNIE, YOU'VE BEEN SLEEPING SO MUCH LATELY. Tell me what's on your mind please?"
Chorong found the energy to sit up cross-legged and instantly regretted it when she saw Bomi. "Look, I love you okay. And I don't want to do this but I have to. We have to stop this," Chorong sighed, burying her face in her hands, cursing the inadvertant slip of the tongue. Bomi's eyebrows shot up instantly, "what do you mean?"
Chorong exhaled, and began to explain, the cold wind blowing their long hair from the air conditioner. Bomi never smiled, she merely listened, listened and listened, something she needed to learn to be more efficient at. She never once interrupted. Chorong told Bomi her feelings with trembling hands and a trembling heart. Occasionally a tear would run down her cheeck to which Bomi would wipe it away gently.
"Now do you see, why I have to let you go?" Chorong frowned. Bomi remained silent for a moment, it unnerved Chorong. Bomi stared at Chorong's eyes, then at her hands, and her hair and everything about her. "Unnie, I love you too. You don't have to be worried, I won't leave your side, after all we're part of Apink. We have to get along for them. It's okay, even if you don't to talk to me or love me in front of others. But just remember this, I will always, always love you back."
Chorong upon hearing this, lunged forward and embraced Bomi for the first time in weeks maybe even months. She missed her scent, the way her hair tickled her cheek. She was going to miss her. Bomi smiled and spoke again, "Unnie, you know we can keep our relationship a secret."
"Since when did you like keeping secrets?" Chorong grinned. "Since today. I love you more than the rest, you know that right?" Bomi beamed, her eye smile reappearing again. Chorong rocked bakck and forth on the bed and nodded playfully, glad to get something she've kept bottled up for years out and even more glad to know that Bomi reciprocates it.
"So are we together?" Chorong lifted her eyebrows suggestively. Bomi pouted like an adorable puppy, "do you want to be?"
Chorong smiled and locked her hands behind Bomi neck, over her hair and pulled her in for a soft kiss. It was the same safe feeling, the same soft lips that Chorong knew too well. However, this time it wasn't just lips meeting, it was love and lasted longer. Chorong would sooner kill herself than to be deprived of that love she felt surging through her being again.
"I'll take that as a yes then, bbom," Chorong mumbled against Bomi's lips as she lay down on the bed, with Bomi on top of her, her facial features shadows by her hair. Bomi had never looked more gorgeous.
