One of the unnis that I dormed with asked me if I was feeling ok.    "I'm feeling so good you have no idea." I told her sincerely.    She just gave me a weird look.    "It's because of your placement at the showcase right? Well done for that by the way." another unni said, coming up behind me. I had forgotten the normal tense, competetive atmosphere at the dorm - I didn't want them to misunderstand and think that I was bragging.   I quickly left the dorm a bit earlier than normal and caught the bus. One of the most idolised people in South Korea.    An idol.   Someone who was usually never going to be in one place for more than a month.   Someone completely at the mercy of the paparazzi and critiques.    Most importantly, my work sunbae and a potential threat to my future career.   ...so...   Someone I couldn't date.    My mood immediately plummeted during the bus ride as I furiously tried to think of ways that it could work out.   By the end of my train of thought, I was depressed.    'Not like I was going to be able to date him anyway.' He just kissed me.'    I then felt a little mad - did he think I was easy?   I trudged into the SM building, deep into my thoughts, not really ready to face the day.    I continued classes as normal but it was sometime in the afternoon, in an interview class when someone came in and called for me. I grabbed my bag and hurried after them. She was a woman dressed neatly, and looked like she worked in the office.    "Hello, Heri. I am Mr Lee's secretary. He would like to see you now." she told me cordially.    My mind blanked.   "S-sorry, Mr Lee?"    She gave me a look.    "Yes. Mr Lee Sooman, you know, your boss."    "He wants to see me?" I repeated unbelievingly.    "Yes, Heri, I just said that." she said irritably, and I apologised quietly and stayed quiet after that.    We walked to the elevator and when the doors opened, I was met with Jongin coming out. He looked so surprised to see me and the secretary that he paused in the doorway of the elevator. We met eyes and I didn't smile but bowed slightly at him, remembering my thoughts from the morning. He frowned before bowing at the secretary and walking away.    My heart was already beating hard at the sight of him - this was so so bad.    "I'm sure I shouldn't have to remind you of how to act in front of Mr Lee." the secretary said coolly, and I immediately nodded.    And before I could prepare myself mentally, she had knocked on his office door and I was ushered in.    A man sat at the desk on the far side of the room, and I bowed lowly.    "Hello Heri dear, come in and take a seat." he said. He was a small man, but with eyes that gleamed with a hidden intent and greed that made me shiver inwardly.    "I am sorry to call you on such a short notice." he said casually, and I knew he didn't mean it. "I was shown the records from yesterday's showcase and I couldn't help but notice that you were placed 27 ranks ahead than your last rank that only took place last month."    He surveyed me rather coldly, a hint of suspicion in his voice.   "Of course I thought there had been a mistake, or maybe even a kind of cheating - " he paused to watch my reaction, which was, nothing.
