Taekwoon was never really happy with how he looks or at least his body size. Not that he ever minded it so much that he wanted to change or fix it. It’s just that his looks never seemed to be the correct look; at least he doesn’t seem to be right enough for the people he used to be crushing after. He couldn’t complain much about it anyway, his parents are tall, even though he’s about 183cm, his mother could reach the top of his head easily and his father is barely shorter than him. His three noonas are all tall ladies, the shorter sporting an excellent height of 172cm and he really couldn’t complain about it.

Taekwoon knows that he’s not ugly either. He remembers when he was about 4 years old he refused to cut his hair short cause his noonas all wears their hair long only to cry into his mother’s arm when someone commented that he was a pretty girl. He remembers getting commented about how he was such a little heartthrob when he was in his teenage years. He remembers getting a love letter that literally swoons over his look. But he had never seems to be pretty enough or hot enough or cute enough for those people he crushed over.

Taekwoon’s history crushing is rather… legendary. He had four in fact. And they only reason why they didn’t want to date him was simply because his look.

His first crush was also his childhood friend; he also didn’t know or rather didn’t understand that he was crushing after his friend back then. His name’s Cha Hakyeon. Growing up together, it was normal for Taekwoon to grow a crush over the slightly older boy who seems to always protect little small Taekwoon who was weak and fragile. As they grow older though, Taekwoon grows taller too, and when they were 14, Hakyeon talks about how he likes short pretty older girls that has cute motherly smile and nice feminine curves. Taekwoon gets jealous when his friend starts to get close to some girls. But they were still friends.

His second one was during his high school year. He was a senior and the kid was two years under. His name is Lee Jaehwan. Despite the other looking like a huge nerd, big glasses, weird hair, big nose, with some wispy hair on his chin that he never shaves, Taekwoon still finds him favorable. And he, being the soccer captain and also the captain of the school’s choir club gets to be a little closer to Jaehwan. They joked about and Taekwoon even helped the younger to look a little better, get a haircut that fits him, better glasses that makes him looks hotter, not nerdy, and he even teaches him how to shave properly. Taekwoon was sure about his crush, he could even confirmed that he was in love with the joker who never fails to make him smile only to be crushed when the younger shyly thanked him into making him looks better than before. Taekwoon unknowingly has helped his crush into dating another guy. A cute, small, short, bubbly, adorable guy. Someone that Taekwoon would never be able to compete with.

He was later confused in his university year by these two guys. Wonshik and Hongbin. Hongbin is some sort of the uni flirts that goes around flaunting his good looks and makes everyone’s heart races whenever he approaches (including Taekwoon’s) and had flirted with Taekwoon enough to convince him into getting a haircut and dyes his hair blonde. And Taekwoon did as what he was told, he visited one of the fancy looking barbershop where he met Wonshik, an older and very encouraging male who flirts shamelessly with him and makes a haircut and hair dye sounds like the most dream one could get.  The guy even convinced Taekwoon to work our hard enough to gain an abs and to get his ear pierced and it makes Taekwoon proud that he could actually do something about his looks. Before Taekwoon’s heart could get as confused as his , he found out that Hongbin and Wonshik were dating each other. It was weird, they flirted so much, but Taekwoon was not one to have a three-way relationship (even though the couple offered him).

Nowadays though, Taekwoon starts to change his thoughts about his look. He’s more than happy about how he looks. Because if he doesn’t look like this. He wouldn’t be able to marry the man he’s going to marry tomorrow.

Taekwoon could recall his meeting with Sanghyuk like it was a moment ago. He had heard about some sort of child genius getting into his faculty and being a freshman and all and Taekwoon, being the senior with -resting-face expression was there to be a part of the orientation team. Everything went smoothly until the freshmen orientation ended and the party started. They had decided to do some sort of confession booth where the freshmen could express their angers or frustration toward a certain senior and that was where everything started.

Sanghyuk was just a short little guy. He was short and very shy. He was short and like all the teenagers in their teenage age, he has some zits too. He wasn’t ugly, he just looked younger than most of the students. He wasn’t all that shy too so he came up to the booth and took the microphone. “Well…” he had started in that voice that has recently changed. “There’s this hyung who’s really scary…” he started but his eyes already glued over Taekwoon’s. “Even though so, I’d like to be his friend, he seemed to be a really good hyung,” was all he said before he murmured Taekwoon’s name shyly. And Taekwoon, much to his dismay had to come up and hugged the smaller boy.

But it was three years ago.

Barely three months after that Sanghyuk had somehow finds his way into Taekwoon’s life and voiced out loud how he admires the older. He says he wanted to be like Taekwoon but he couldn’t grow tall because he’s lactose intolerant. Taekwoon suggested him to eat a lot and do light exercise. That made them ended up doing morning runs every day and going around looking for good foods all over the town.

It takes a year for Sanghyuk to grow a bit and gain courage to comment over Taekwoon’s pretty eyes and lovely lips and it earned him some bruises all over his body. He apologized by saying that Taekwoon’s has manly shoulder even though he has a pretty slim and feminine hip and that earned him more running with Taekwoon. He accidentally tripped over the older and pinned him against the grass and fumbling about his words on how Taekwoon was as pretty as the sun or how he should smile more and how Sanghyuk had love at the first sight at him and it was so embarrassing, Taekwoon could only laugh loudly and pulled the younger down to kiss his nose tenderly. And they agreed they’re boyfriends.

It takes two years for Sanghyuk to be taller than Taekwoon and he gloats the fact at the older at every opportunity he had. He ‘accidentally’ bumped over Taekwoon and says that he couldn’t see him; he also likes to nip at Taekwoon’s rather round cheek and says that they are as cute as the elder’s . He takes every opportunity he got to comment on Taekwoon’s look. And it took a little over 6 months for him to propose Taekwoon. It was rather simple, they were just cuddling on the bed and talking about life until Taekwoon starts to talk about how he looks and Sanghyuk simply shushes him with a kiss and forcefully put on an engagement ring over Taekwoon’s finger. “I’m not asking you to marry me, I demand you to,” he had said and he earned a dark ugly bruise over his right chest but Taekwoon was smiling, he smiles so wide he started to cry and Sanghyuk thought that another bruise won’t hurt to see that kind of smile upon his now fiancé’s face again.

Now, Taekwoon smooth down the white suit he’s going to wear for his wedding tomorrow. Last minute fitting just in case. He smiled at the reflection in the mirror and was about to takes the jacket off when he heard his phone ring.

“Hullo Mrs. Han,” Sanghyuk’s cheeky voice could be heard over the phone and Taekwoon couldn’t help but smile. Their parents won’t allow them to meet for about a week before the wedding and Taekwoon misses his fiancé greatly.

“Hello to you too Mrs. Jung,” he teased back and he sat down over his bed, taking a deep breath, mind suddenly fogging up with the thought of his looks once again. “Baby?” he called after a second of silence, he could feel Sanghyuk was about to retort but stopped simply just to hear what he got to say. This is what he loves about Sanghyuk’s his patience. “You know… tomorrow we’re going to be- you know- first time-“he murmured shyly, cheeks painted pink with the thought of finally doing something with his boyfriend after years of keeping his ity intact. “You can bail out now… if well-“

“Baby shush,” cut the younger quickly, already knowing what Taekwoon was about to say. “I’m not gonna lie and say that I think you’d love how I look too,” he says in voice so comforting Taekwoon was once again glad that he’s going to marry him. “And I’m not going to say you’re perfect baby, no one is. But you are perfect, you always been perfect for me. Even when you’re still tall and now you’re short, you’re still perfect for me. And I love you so much, baby, my mom is glaring at me right now so I’m going to hang up okay? Love you?” he rushed the last sentences and Taekwoon couldn’t help but think that he doesn’t need to change his look to find love.
