Chapter 2 - Shen Dan Kaui Le

Kristmas Day

It was so nice just being able to laze about in the morning, not having to put up with someone yelling at him to get his lazy out of bed, listen to the maknea’s whining about someone hogging the bathroom or constantly getting hit over the head with a large pillow until he dragged himself out of bed that Yixing was more than content to just stay exactly where he was and snuggle. Especially when he could snuggle up to his husband without having to worry about someone rushing in. That was a feeling that he had seriously missed since he had to go back to the dorms and when he felt Yifan shifting just a little he automatically gravitated closer to the solid body with a half mumbled “Stay there.”

A deep chuckle was his reward and long fingers began moving through his hair, “Oh Yixing, my little limpet. Come on, we should get up.”

A half groan escaped from Yixing, “It’s a Saturday, and I don’t want to get up.”

“You will in a second or two,” Yifan said, pressing a kiss to those oh so willing and tempting lips and chuckling again when he felt Yixing’s fingers run along the curves of his torso.

“Nope, I want to stay in bed all day,” Yixing said, pushing his body just a little bit closer to Yifan’s and gently teasing an , “With my Galaxy.”

Trying not to laugh or give into the sinfully delightful touches that were caressing his body, Yifan pulled back just a little when he saw the slightest of shadows under the door and grinned, “Oh I’m sure you could do that but...”

The door to their room opened and the next second Yixing let out a whoosh of air as his five year old son took a running jump onto the bed and landed squarely on his torso, “Daddy!” Taiyangg yelled brightly, “You can’t sleep in today! We’re going to see Sheng Dan Kuai Le!”

Yixing groaned and tried to roll over, only to find Yueliang climbing up onto the bed to hug into his back as well, “Yeah, come on Daddy! Wake up!”

Another groan escaped the father of the really energetic twins but there was a grin on his face all the same, “But Daddy’s tired, let him sleep.” Moving skilfully, he caught Taiyangg and Yueliang with his skilful long arms and hugged them tightly to his chest as he shifted around, “Why don’t we just all curl up and go to sleep for the rest of the morning.”

“But Daddy! Sheng Dan Kuai Le!” Taiyang complained whilst Yueliang just smiled sweetly at him before flicking his forehead with her fingers.

It didn’t take long for them both to be complaining about being squished by Daddy and it quickly turned into a mixture of yells and giggles as it was clear that Yixing wasn’t going to give up easily. Yifan rolled his eyes and leaned down on the bed, winking at Yue as he shot his hand out to catch the back of his unicorn’s neck and tickle it. Yixing immediately let out a surprised yelp come laugh and released the twins to curl up in a ball. “Kris!” Yixing yelled loudly, trying to swat away the hand from his neck and not realising that he had used the old Exo name for his partner “Don’t do that.”

“Why not Lay?” Yifan said back, sticking his tongue out at the sudden expression, “You’re the one who’s delaying us from going to see Sheng Dan Kaui Le.”

Realising that he really wasn’t going to win any other way, Yixing let out a sigh and hauled himself out of bed, glad that he had opted to wear shorts and a thin vest so he wouldn’t end up scaring the children, “All right. I’m up, I’m up.”

It took everyone around an hour to get sorted with the bathroom and getting dressed, Yixing taking on as much as he could manage because hell Yifan deserved a break from having to play mother all of the time and he thought that it would be a simple task. However dealing with a hyper Taiyangg was never an easy task and Yueliang seemed to be joining in though in her own little quiet and cute way which typically meant that she would be in one place one second and in another the next.

By the time they got downstairs, Yixing having to carry Yue whilst Tai opted to slide down the banister, Yifan had breakfast set and ready for everyone and set the twins off with eating their cereal whilst he gave Yixing a bowl of cinnamon porridge with some fresh grapefruit to go with it. He smiled towards the other, “They’re annoying when they’re excited, aren’t they?”

“I wish I could experience it all the more often,” Yixing smiled back gently, resting his head against the other’s shoulders, “Though question, how are we going to see Shen Dan Kaui Le? Korea doesn’t usually have grottos or anything like that?”

Yifan chuckled, “There’s a local Chinese Church that’s having a Christmas Fair today, they’re doing the grotto with it and I thought it would be nice for all of us to go along since you’ve always missed the kids seeing Santa.”

Yixing felt himself melt inside, “You seriously waited this year for that?”

“Yup,” Yifan grinned, pressing a kiss to the tip of Yixing’s nose, “Though expect to get bombarded. They’re used to me and the twins now but you will be a welcomed addition to the usual antics.”

“Hey if I get to see my kids with Shen Dan Kaui Le for the first time ever I don’t care how many autographs or photos people want,” Yixing was virtually bouncing now and he latched a hug onto Yifan, “I don’t know how you do it but you’re like the best husband ever.”

Yifan laughed and hugged Yixing briefly before turning around just in time to stop Tai from spilling his juice all over his brand new jumper which Daddy had gotten him and to give Yue a top up on her morning milk.

They left for the church at around nine thirty, all bundled up against the snow in a variety of coats and brightly coloured scarf’s, hats and gloves which the Grandmothers had sent to them along with information about when they would be arriving. The twins were clearly all about their Daddy today and were holding tightly onto his gloved hands as they walked along which made Yixing feel all bright and cheery inside. Yifan smiled and snapped a couple of quick pictures on his phone before flicking open a message from Kai, “Awww, look at them, aren’t they just so cute?”

The message contained a picture taken by Kai which featured himself, a rather smiley Kyungsoo and their daughter Soyeoung sitting on their laps with a lovely bright pink dress and matching bow in her hair. “Awww,” Yixing cooed gently, “She’s gotten so big. I hope they bring her along with them.”

Yueliang immediately looked up, “Uncle Kai and Kyungsoo are coming to visit?”

Yixing glanced at Yifan with a frown and the mother of his children looked a little bit sheepish, “I was going to save it as a surprise.”

“Yeah, Uncle Kai and Kyungsoo are coming to visit us this Christmas,” Yixing said brightly, glad that he got to tell the twins something that they didn’t know already, today was a really good day for that, “As well as all your other uncles too.”

Yueliang’s eyes lit up brightly, “Really?”

“All ten of them?” Taiyangg asked just as brightly, a huge grin on his face.

“Yup,” Yixing couldn’t help but smile when the twins literally cheered at that notion.

“When, when do they come?” Yueliang asked, swinging off her Daddy’s hand brightly.

“The twenty seventh,” Yifan said, replying to a message, “Apparently transport is going to be tricky on the twenty sixth for Luhan and you know how fussy Xiumin is with him at the moment.”

Yixing nodded, “Well it is kind of understandable.”

Yifan hummed in response, “Yeah, poor Lu-gee, you would think that he had the most rotten luck in the world.”

“Well if he hadn’t been forced to do so much back in fourteen,” Yixing shook his head though and smiled, “But we’ll reflect on that at another time. Right now I want to enjoy this Fair with these two and just not have to worry about much.”

Nodding the mother of the family took hold of Yueliang’s hand and grinned at the way that Tai was using Yixing as a shield to pretend to be not pulling faces at his sister. For once Yifan opted not to scold the other because the boy had to learn that there were just some people you did not mess with and Yue would be sure to come up with something once she got annoyed at him enough. His family was brightly chaotic and dysfunctional at times but that was exactly Yifan’s style.

The Chinese Church was fairly large and had been decorated with a series of bright lights and some natural sprigs of holly and there was the clear smell of freshly prepared pork buns, Christmas cake and a selection of other different bits of food that Yixing’s mouth was already watering with the prospect. There were a whole host of tables that had Christmas themed items for sale and a couple of little prize stalls as well which were near to overflowing with a selection of teddy bears and plushi’s and Yixing glared playfully towards Yifan, “No.”

“What?” Yifan asked all innocently, clearly eyeing the table.

“Just no,” Yixing said, “The kids can have a go but you are not.”

“Awww but Xing-Xing,” Yifan did his best puppy dog eyes towards Yixing but the other shook his head.

“You’ve already got like fifty and that’s excluding Ace and his family,” Yixing said, “The only reason that they don’t take over the bed is because we’ve got a play room and you have more than enough of your own.”

Yifan pouted playfully but was distracted by a call from one of the mothers that he knew and he quickly caught hold of Yue so that he could remove the girl’s winter coat so that she could go running off with her friends. It was so nice to see all of the children dressed up nicely for Christmas with the girls in cute little dresses or blouses and long skirts as was Yueliang’s style and the boys in their best dress trousers with a selection of bright Christmas jumpers on. All of Yixing’s nerves faded away as he helped with preparing the tea, chased various children off the sweet stall and just helped out wherever he could around the place.

Most of the mothers were fussing over him, giving him little bits of extras because he was working so hard and Yifan found it cute and funny how Yixing was not acting the least bit like his onstage persona but was still getting lots of attention. There again it was the exact same thing with him though it had been his mother who introduced him to everyone so that was fine. At a little just after two, everyone was called together to share in some group songs and a little daft sing-a-long with some cute songs from various kids films and then Shen Dan Kaui Le appeared much to the delight of all of the children.

The Chinese Santa was large; jolly faced, had a huge white beard and big bushy eyebrows and wore a suit of bright powder blue with white t. He had a pair of big black boots and a large sack that was filled with presents for all of the children who attended and they formed an orderly queue in order to go and greet the man. There was a feeling of awe and excitement in the air as the children stared at the man with large and bright eyes and Yifan smiled from his position by the plushi stall where he was honestly guarding the plushi’s from any trouble.

It didn’t take long for Taiyangg and Yueliang’s turn to come and they joined hands to walked up together. Yixing couldn’t help but smile grandly as the Santa chuckled broadly, “Ah, if it isn’t the twins. Yueliang and Taiyang. Have you two been good this year?”

The pair were quick to take up position on opposite knees to give Santa a bit of easy breathing space and they smiled brightly up at him, “Yes, Shen Dan Kaui Le, we have been good this year,” they chorused in unison.

“That’s very good to hear,” Santa said and then turned to Taiyangg, “Now what would you like for Christmas?”

Taiyangg thought about it for a second, “I would like a racing car and a painting set please.”

Santa nodded and turned to Yueliang, “And what would you like?”

“Can I have a baby doll and a set of ballerina shoes please?” the girl asked with a soft and gentle smile.

“I’ll see what I can get my elf’s to rustle up,” Santa said, sending a wink towards Yixing, “now if you just hop down then I can see what special early present that I have in here for you.”

The twins got down but both suddenly wore expressions of shock and turned back to the man, “Oh wait, Santa,” Taiyang said, “There’s one thing we forgot to ask for.”

Santa paused in his searching and nodded at them to continue. Yueliang took up the request, “Santa, can you please make sure that Uncle Luhan becomes happy again? He’s been really sad the last few months and it would be nice to see him smiling once again.”

“Yeah,” Taiyangg said, “And could you make sure that all of our Uncles are happy as well because they’ve been working really hard and this year we got Daddy back so we don’t need to worry about him being happy.”

Yixing felt tears in his eyes just as a pair of arms wrapped warmly around his waist and a chin rested on his shoulder, “No tears right now, I’m already doing that enough.” Yifan did have tears rolling down his cheeks as he kissed at Yixing’s neck briefly before smiling brightly at the twins as they received their presents.

Yixing suddenly grabbed his phone, “Can I please get a picture of this?”

“Get in with them,” Yifan said, nabbing the phone and pushing his husband forward a little and grinning towards Santa who nodded back.

“You two Yifan,” one of the mothers who had already been said, grabbing the phone, “Got to have a cute family Christmas picture for your Mother else she’ll go bonkers.”

So a family photograph was taken with Santa and they all wore bright, goofy grins as they did so. Lay was so tempted to just upload it there and then but decided to save it as a fan gift for later on and Yifan immediately sent it to his mother who was busy that day sorting out presents or something along those lines and would be over the next day.

They grouped together for a family hug and Yixing couldn’t believe that he had been blessed with such a magical moment as this. He loved his family to pieces and he was never going to let them go, no matter what the future held for them. He was looking forward to Christmas Day even more now and he couldn’t wait for everything to begin.

Authors babbling

Yeah, even I was having a moment with this chapter cause god I did not expect the pair to be this cute and cuddly but I hope you all enjoy reading it just as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Oh and a shout out to Kpoppers for pointing out that I had accidentally missed a 'g' off the end of the twin's names (taiyang and yueliang) cause that's how they're actually spelt so hence the change in this chapter.

Please leave comments and I hope to ysee you all again soon

Lots of love
