NadiYong: Beach Date Pt. 1

NadiYong X VChelle

Americano~ Joah, joah, joah,” Yonghwa sang delightfully to the music escaping the speakers as he and his girlfriend of two years quickly approached their destination. “Ahh, this is so nice!” He rolled down his window and stuck his head out slightly, as the wind combed through his scalp refreshingly.

“Be careful, Yonghwa! You're on a curve!” Nadia exclaimed as the older adult in the vehicle was displaying childlike behavior.

“Yes, your Majesty.” He pulled his head back in and straightened out his body; both of his hands were placed on the wheel and his eyes focused on the road intently. He cleared his throat, “I can't have my Queen displeased with me. Not today.”

Nadia turned her head and stared at him curiously when he said this. His serious expression and stiffened body looked unnatural and awkward, though she couldn't help but find it hilarious. She chuckled under her breath and shook her head, bringing it back to focus on the road ahead. “Relax, Yonghwa. I'm only being cautious.”

Yonghwa broke out of his petrified state and relaxed his face; he brought one hand off the steering wheel and onto his lap, while the other adjusted its position and took grip of the top part of the wheel. “I know~” He singsonged while his free hand made its way over to Nadia's hand which rested on her thigh. She couldn't help but grin instantly from the sudden physical affection. His hand tightened its hold on hers as he picked it up and shook it playfully. “I just like teasing you.” Following this, he linked his fingers between Nadia's and brought the back of her hand up to his lips, kissing it softly through a playful smirk. Her other hand was gripping deadly tight at her right leg; it was the subtle things like this that Yonghwa would do which would drive her insane. But she couldn't say she didn't like it, nonetheless.

“Ahh, look! There it is!” Yonghwa's excitement suddenly breached the surface as he spotted the beach which he would often visit with his family during impromptu vacations. “It's still as beautiful as ever.”

“Oh my gosh!” Nadia's sight was quickly taken over by the sudden appearance of a vast blue ocean expanding out as far as she could imagine. “You weren't kidding!”

“Of course I wasn't,” He responded while releasing Nadia's hand to properly guide the steering wheel through the mountainous terrain. “Now to just find the trail... Ahah!” Yonghwa exclaimed upon reaching a sign which pointed towards a sandy path labeled Car Parking. “It's so weird driving here on my own. When I would go with my family, my mom would always be the one to drive through here, while my dad would sit in the passenger seat and complain about how she was going in the wrong direction all the time.”

Nadia laughed at the sudden back story. “Your family sounds fun. They should come with us next time.”

“Nope.” Yonghwa quickly retorted.

“Aww. Why not?” She pouted at the rejection. Yonghwa parked the car successfully in the nearly deserted lot, as it was almost sunset and not many people stayed this late due to the high tide. He shifted the car into park and twisted the key, causing the engine to shut off.

His gaze turned to Nadia, and a genuine, though tight-lipped smile grew on his face. “Because I want you all to myself.” Turning his head back towards the windshield, he air through his clenched teeth and exhaled, as if disappointed in himself. “I know. I'm selfish.”

Nadia blinked a few times whilst her brain started mapping out an idea. She then unbuckled her seat belt and leaned in to Yonghwa, giving him a hasty kiss on his cheek. Yonghwa brought his gaze back over to the other, whose face was still quite close to his own. He eyelids fluttered a bit, as though experiencing a late reaction to what had happened. He opened and closed his mouth a few times, hinting that he was hesitating quite a bit on how to respond. Yonghwa released a sigh and began to talk. “See, I knew you'd fall for that,” bringing up his index and middle finger, he tapped the area which had been left warm and tingling, “But I wasn't planning on falling for that.”

Nadia's eyes narrowed a bit, and a sly, though faded smirk took over her lips. “Serves you right.”

Yonghwa's eyes lit up for a mild second, though he returned Nadia's narrowing eyes with his own pair. His gaze shifted back and forth between her eyes and a couple of times, though eventually he moved in and placed a rushed kiss on her unsuspecting lips. Her body moved back on instinct, and her mind rushed with a wave of many different colored thoughts. Yonghwa stuck his tongue out playfully at the other, though ceased his teasing with a satisfied chuckle. “Let's get going, shall we?” Without giving his girlfriend a second to think, Yonghwa threw her a suggestive wink before opening his door and exiting the car. “Come on, slow poke,” He yelled from outside as he shut the door behind him. Nadia's heart was racing a mile a minute; and although it uncomfortable, she was simply in love with the feeling.
