I'm Home
Luhan followed the delicious smell that greeted him and found himself walking towards the kitchen.
An aproned figure was at the sink, washing dishes.
“Hey, Kyungsoo,” Luhan called.
Said person turned around. “Hey,” he greeted.
“Is this the smell of your famous kimchi spaghetti?” Luhan asked, hopefully.
“It is,” Kyungsoo smiled that heart-shaped smile of his.
“Need some help?” Luhan asked.
“You’re the first to ask. Can you just cut up the kimchi while I watch over the noodles and sauce?”
“Sure,” Luhan said, walking over to grab a knife and cutting board.
“Wash your hands first,” Kyungsoo scolded.
“Yes, mother,” Luhan grumbled. Kyungsoo smacked him lightly.
After washing his hands, Luhan started cutting up some kimchi. Kyungsoo was next to him, stirring the sauce while humming softly.
After a few minutes of silence, minus Kyungsoo’s humming, Luhan cleared his throat. “Uh, Kyungsoo?”
“Hm?”
“I actually have something I need to tell you.”
“What is it?” Kyungsoo asked. He closed the lid of the noodles before looking over at him, eyes shining brightly. Luhan put down the knife in his hand and turned to him.
“I-“ Luhan faltered. “I’m leaving.”
Kyungsoo’s eyes grew wider, if that was even possible. “What do you mean?”
“I’m leaving the group, Kyungsoo.”
“Can I ask why? Is it because of your health?”
Luhan nodded slowly. “That and… I miss my family, Kyungsoo.”
Kyungsoo paused. “You know all of us don’t see our family that often, Luhan hyung,” he said, wiping his hands on his apron.
“I know. But you know how these flights have been affecting me. I don’t think I can handle it anymore.”
Kyungsoo started biting his lip. “Is there really no other way around this?”
Luhan took a deep breath. “I don’t think so, no. I’m sorry, Kyungsoo.”
“Me too,” Kyungsoo said, staring off into the distance.
Suddenly the sound of fire hissing was heard.
“Kyungsoo!” Luhan quickly went over and opened the lid on the pot of noodles.
Kyungsoo snapped back into focus, adjusting the flame and pouring more water into the noodles before going to stir the sauce. “Hyung, can you go tell the M members to come down for dinner?” he asked after awhile.
“Sure,” Luhan said. “I’ll go have Sehun come set the table.”
“Like he will,” Kyungsoo chuckled softly. Luhan grinned before heading to the living room, where all the members were playing video games.
Kyungsoo went back to washing the rest of the dishes, scrubbing furiously at the plate in his hands.

After dinner, and a loud game of rock-paper-scissors to decide who was on clean up duty (which he was excused from), Kyungsoo went to his room and put his headphones on. He closed his eyes and sank under his sheets as music filled his ears.
Living without you
Living alone
This empty house seems so cold
Wanting to hold you
Wanting you near
How much I wanted you home
