acceptance
Gracious WishesKrystal was walking home alone, lost in her thoughts about the situation she was caught in. She could not believe what the girls had told her about Luna, yet large part of her seemed to seek validation and affirmation from the very group of girls she had been envious of. She was not sure why, that she did not want to feel left out, although she hates attention. She just wanted someone to count her in.
"Sunbaenim!" her ears recognised the familiar bright voice. "Krystal sunbaenim," the voice became softer than before but with an equally happy tone, followed by panting. She turned to her side to face a shorter girl who was smiling widely at her.
"Yeri?" her voice was questioning.
"I was going to go home and I saw you so, just coming over to say hi," Yeri continued to have her smile plastered on her face. Krystal could not help but admire how she could do that.
She awkwardly smiled and whispered, "Hi."
"My home's that way," Yeri continued the conversation, as they continued walking to a cross junction.
Krystal widened her eyes in surprise and said, "Same."
Yeri's eyes turned larger and she laughed. Krystal unexpectedly laughed along; she was beginning to like this junior.
"By the way, I'm sorry for Seulgi unnie's outburst before, she was just scolded by a teacher before that," Yeri apologised, taking Krystal aback.
"Why are you apologizing for her?" Krystal probed.
Yeri laughed, not giving any answer. She then spoke, "By the way, join us for lunch tomorrow?"
Krystal could not bring herself to reject, and hence nodded. They soon walked to her apartment complex and she awkwardly stated, "My home's here."
"Alright, see you tomorrow! Bye!" Yeri waved and Krystal merely flashed a small smile.
After Yeri was really sure that Krystal was gone, she went back on the route they had come from, to proceed back home. As she did so, she took out her mobile phone and dialled for Wendy's number.
"Yahh I was going to unlock my door!" came the answer once the line was picked up. "Wait a minute Yeri."
"Ne..." her voice trailed off as she absent-mindedly looked down to her feet as she walked.
"Ne Yeri?" Wendy finally spoke after a long time.
"Unnie, I did it," Yeri couldn't help but smile at her own accomplishment. Wendy dropped her jaw and widened her eyes.
"Yes we knew we could count on you, noisy one!" Wendy was shouting in triumph.
"Unnie!" Yeri whined as she was once again looked down in a way or another by the elder girls. She frowned, for she had really been trying hard to be accepted by them. Then, she remembered the current situation, and she smiled because she knew that she was going to succeed this time with Krystal beginning to be fond of her.
Double update because I really don't feel like studying! I hope this one is not as bad as the previous chapter ><
