Thirteen.
Never Knew I Needed
Sehun and Han Na sit across each other. Han Na is deeply focusing on the questions in her papers while Sehun stares at her with his chin on his palm. They had been studying all the topics and gone through all the questions they needed to these past weeks and truth be told; he believes that they didn’t need it anymore. Sure Sehun knows knowledge is a never ending circle but people can memorise every single thing.
“Han Na.” he calls out
“Yes?” she answers without sparing him a look; her eyes traveling back and forth to the questions and the notes next to it
“Hey Han Na.” he repeats again, waiting for her to look at him but she didn’t. Han Na didn’t answer and jots down a few words on the empty page of her notebook; scribbling a few equations along “Let’s do something fun. We’ve been studying like the world’s going to end these past weeks.” he chuckles and Han Na gives him a puzzled look “You know what I mean. It’s not like I’m saying I hate studying or knowledge but everyone needs a break every once in a while.”
“You must be joking. The exam is tomorrow Sehun, or did you suddenly forget?” she raises one of her brows; as though implying him crazy for coming up with such ideas
The corner of his lips hitches upwards slightly at her words and he sit straight “I know that Han Na but let’s do something else. I honestly believe you know almost everything you need to.”
“There you have it. You said almost everything.” she corrects and gives a small smile before her gaze falls back onto the questions
“Han Na.” he whines “Give it a break.”
Sehun never whines, he doesn’t act like a child in front of anyone, he doesn’t grunt or groan. He is the perfect person from the male population. Yet with Han Na, he whines and he knows this side of him; only Han Na knows. She finds it awkward and weird too in the beginning but as she starts warming up towards him, it no longer feels that different though she still thinks it’s a bit weird.
“Okay, fine.” she shuts the book beside her “Let’s play scrabble then.”
“Really?” Sehun raises a brow; in disbelief of her suggestion. Surely he didn’t expect Han Na to answer something more to a normal teen’s activity
“Yes.” she nods eagerly, not noticing the hint of amusement in his voice
“That’s your idea of a fun activity?”
“Yes.” she nods “We play scrabble tons of times remember?”
“Exactly.” his chest rumbles when he chuckles at her obliviousness “I have other plans, let’s go.”
“Go? Go where?” panic came over her
“Just somewhere, come on, I promise it will be fun.” Sehun assures her and nods along as though the gesture would make any difference
“No way Oh Sehun, I am studying.” she shakes her head and her hands reaches out to grab a book but Sehun pulls it away and pull her up “What are you doing? No.” she shakes her head furiously
He immediately shouts for their chauffeur and Sehun grabs their coat on their way to the door “If you don’t get a satisfying mark, it’ll be on me; promise.” he grasps her hand
“Yeah like that will actually matter. Seriously Sehun.”
His steps stop abruptly as he turns to face her; his eyes meets her own as he breathes and asks her in a soft voice “Do you trust me Han Na?”
